Yet we see quite clearly here for a little girl to be permitted to enroll in a religious school with little boys(first graders) becomes a cause celebre. Just what's the difference? Discrimination based on color is really no different than discrimination based on sex. If you wish to carry this to the next step, try to enroll a child of Ashkanazi parents in a Sephardi school or for that matter the opposite still holds true. It is factual that religious discrimination of one Jewish group towards another Jewish group remains alive and well.

Discrimination is discrimination, yes, but you have to fight discrimination little step at a time. It could start out this way, and change to another form of discrimination like gender or type of Judaism practiced. That point isn't they're discriminating based on skin color, the overarching point is that it's a institution that is partaking in some kind of discrimination. Having a institution who is furthering the religion, actively discriminating doesn't help to represent judaism in a positive sense. And an institution that is discriminating against people who WANT to expand their knowledge and practice of Judaism doesn't help.
