Look at countries where this penalty exists [ USA , China , Iran and others ] In china people are executed , probably , by hundreds . Does this deter people from comitting their crimes ? No . By definition he is an executioner. That's why he's called an executioner. His is the final hand in the utterly essential implementation of justice.

Because it instigates more murder and more brutal murder. Any society that does not execute convicted murderers is not technically a 'just community'. It is not a 'just community' by definition. I am so sorry to know that Israel does not execute convicted murderers, since as a society, as in the UK, we cannot call ourselves 'just societies'. We are dry running on simplistic feel-good principles, not justice. 'Lifetime imprisonment' for a murderer is not, technically, justice. It's a dangerous game we play. In the USA , a men convicted of murder , and sentenced to death had to be executed today . A last minute appeal to the high court had prevented this execution . Most of the witnesses had retract themselve . Nothing to do with DNA , but a probably innocent man could have been executed . Death sentence will NOT deter a murderer . This is not i who say it , but statistics i had read somewhere . In countries where death sentence was abolished there was'nt an increase in murders . And NO civilised country , only reactionary and dictatorships still have this death sentence . Sad to say , the USA , some states at least , are still amongst them .
