I was hoping to come to Israel for university and, if I liked it, to make Aliyah permenantly. But I have no interest in spending the next 4 years of my life bickering over another $250 dollars per year here or there. Let the student union strike -- I'm just going to have to study in Australia. Pity.

It's about time the government keeps its greedy hands out of our higher education system!

Dumb clucks! Instead of wasting money "suing" the Universities and the government, the Student Onion should spend its money recruiting donations from rich people to help the government to fund the financial budget shortfall, thus keeping tuition exactly the same, as they wish, and solving everyone's problems! I hope they sue, and LOSE, and have to pay all Court costs! Morons!

SITUATION !

Because I want a good education uninterrupted by constant strikes? That doesn't make me pathetic - that makes me reasonable. If you want to be unreasonable, that is your perogative, but don't attempt to spread your illness.

IF Israel wants to be considered a western based capital market country it must refuse to obey the dictates of a socialist inclined minister such as Tamir, plus refuse to allow itself to be held hostage to the thuggish Histadrut.. Universities know best what their budgets are. Any other interference is anti capitalist. You can't have it both ways.
