Dr. Dave ,   NYC   (09.19.08)
7. Even Olmert didnt ask Meeretz to join him
zionist forever   (09.19.08)
Livni has abandoned all her beliefs for ambition, she is so desperate to avoid an election she will do a deal with anybody just get a coalition no matter what form it takes as long as it means I dont have to face an election. Once one of Sharons protoges in Likud now wants to form a coalition with Meertez. Next thing you know she will be asking the arab parties to join her. If Arik Sharon were dead he would be turning in his grave.
8. Why do we sit back and do nothing?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.19.08)
We should have taken to the streets long ago. We should have toppled this corrupt and cowardly gang of criminals. I want to see a newparty arise and proclaim that it will try this coalition of anti Zionists along with the "peace groups". I want to see if they are found guilty of treason, cowardice and aiding the enemy that they will limb up the scaffold and hang by their dirty necks.
9. LIVNI WORKS FOR FOREIGN STATES
(09.19.08)
10. what did you expect?
eddie ,   london, UK   (09.19.08)
that anyone from kadima would do anything that is good for the country?
11. Help! Anyone? Please!
Gideon Reader   (09.19.08)
Headline Correction: "Grossly incompetent out of her league leader of a political party with no mandate or political agenda, other than dispossessing Jews from their residences, cries out to the totally discredited far FAR left of Israel's political spectrum for salvation." There. Fixed it.
12. Kadima still corrupt - this time morally.
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.19.08)
Tzipi has proven again that she is a spineless and ruthless leftist politician - NOT someone I would want to oversee the next war or the next Peace negotiations.
13. Tough.
Ypip ,   Canada   (09.19.08)
14. Is it me or is it seriously time for national elections!?
mish ,   tlv   (09.19.08)
15. More of the same.....
Abir ,   Chicago, IL   (09.19.08)
Why is everyone so surprised and upset? The reality is that the outcome of any elections in Israel will always put the smaller parties in a coalition that will extort the bigger parties, and prevent any decisions being made. Regardless of Bibi, Barak or Livni, the smaller parties will always call the shots.
16. Meretz doesn't even believe in a 2-state solution
Jake   (09.20.08)
Meretz believes in the establishment of yet another Arab Moslem state of "Palestine", to go along with the 22 that already exist. Meretz does not believe that the remaining emasculated Israel should be a Jewish state, though. Meretz opposes measures that would safeguard Israel as the national home of the Jewish people with a Jewish majority, it opposes the "Judaization of the Galilee" and the Negev, and its philosphies resemble Hadash/Balad on what Israel's identity should be, i.e. "a state of all its citizens".
17. Did she lose her marbles? The beilinists want to destroy
Dan ,   USA   (09.20.08)
Israel.
18. If Israel annexes Judea and Samaria, ...
Michael A. Shoemaker ,   Eugene, Oregon, USA   (09.20.08)
...then Livni and Kadima can win an election. They could govern with a Fatah-Kadima-Meeretz coalition. Hamas, of course, would lead the opposition. Livni and Barak were both elected by Arabs. There aren't many Jewish parties left in Israel. It seens the Jews are disengaging from their own country -- and from the planet.
19. A 'peace now' endorsement
Arie ,   BaGolan   (09.20.08)
A death blow to any political party
20. Reality is most Jews want peace
Sam ,   Canada   (09.20.08)
Watch Netanyahu as the next elections near and you will see that he suddenly discovers peace and talks about how he can deliver it. That is what most Israelis want to hear. Meretz is just an easier target.
21. Bringing in the Meretz into the coalition is like bringing
she is nuts ,   USA   (09.20.08)
the Arab homicide bombers into the government.
22. This is ridiculous
Steve ,   Australia   (09.20.08)
I am not the only one who thinks the current political situation is ridiculous. Kadima is run by left-wing wackos who do not have the support of the Israeli people, and are consequently clinging to power. It is time for a general election. Hopefully Labor refuses to join a coalition with Kadima and forces elections. If not, may G-d have mercy on us and help us.
23. typical crap- I'd only vote for moshe
jack bauer   (09.20.08)
24. reply to Why we sit back and do nothing
Paul ,   Kfar Saba   (09.20.08)
don't know who this Jason White is or where he is from - his first comment is correct - we should have taken to the streets long ago. We should have toppled this corrupt and gang of criminals. However as to his second comment I guess living in Afula has colored his vision or maybe he just lives with his head in the sand Get real Jason - look around you buddy - think what is best for Israel's longtern future - try thinking outside of the box - you might just be surprised!!!!!!! Paul, Kfar Saba
25. to #24 What is wrong with Afula?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.20.08)
We need to make sure these anti Israel politicians never return to power. Never to work with the enemy if they sit in the opposition. Never to sign deals or treaties behind our backs. Thinking outside the box would be to have a death penalty for treason and cowardice on the books and to use it. Our long term future would be better if only citizens who served in the I.D.F. sat in the knesset and voted in national elections.
