This is all rather confusing. Olmert will tender his resignation, presumably, in a few days. Then Peres has a week in order to decide to tell Livni to form a new government. Hopefully, she will form one quickly; because the alternative is six more weeks of indecision, with [who?] acting as Prime Minister. Once a government is formed, someone can make a no-confidence motion and the wheels start slowly grinding toward an election. While this is happening, Livni will be free to negotiate away the Land of Israel. Is this how it works? Alternatively, Livni fails to form a government and the buck passes to Barak, who forms an "emergency government" with Bibi. It's all rather confusing.
