jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.24.08)
The name, address and picture of this creep should have been published. Let other women be aware of him.

Jo Jo ,   London   (09.24.08)
I read a similar story about someone who decided to pay a £30 parking fine in penny coins!
3. Legal tender
Adam ,   Raanana, Israel   (09.24.08)
As far as I know, 10 agorot coins are still legal tender. The Rabbinical court are not above the law, if he wants to pay all of it in 5 agorot coins, it should be his decision.
4. her honor is above pearls and rubies!

this husband's name should be published and placed in the local "PachKeVilus" (poster stands) so that everyone is warned against marrying such a disrespectful and dishonorable man!

Married woman ,   Israel   (09.24.08)
Banknotes of 200 shekels were issued especially so we wont have to count out coins for larger sums and most normal people just write a check for bigger sums. This guy is a total sleaze, and his ex-wife is well rid of him!
10. Money is money

Agorot or Shekel. Money is money. Every bank can count the Agorot and credit the woman. From now Agorot are no money.

14. He was actually hit harder than any of the talkbaks realize
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (09.24.08)
Since the court took the coins and put them into the court house's safe he can not inflict this on some poor bank worker and get away easily. He needs to come up with a second 9,000 to pay off his debt. Judge was a smart person.
15. #7: Did you read the WHOLE article?

You're an idiotic child. Why don't you be public about your views on this story and tell every person who gives you money (your boss, or customers if you have your own business, or charity if you're religious- which wouldn't surprise me) that they're free to give you agorot, and you can carry them around all day, there's a bunch of space in your head that's going unused...
19. Talk about cold hard cash.
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.25.08)
The judge is wrong. It is legal tender, issued by the treasury and is cash.
20. Gee , 19
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.26.08)
I think that here there is also such a law that allows people not to accept payments by coins .
