1. Expell the arabs from e. Jerusalem
jason white ,   afula,israel   (10.05.08)
Send them to jordan or gaza and send sh-ass along with them!
2. I wish Livni no success, she has been voted by nobody
Zion   (10.05.08)
3. "her success is our success". ?
redmike ,   Tel Aviv   (10.05.08)
I almost gave up the article after reading the above sentence in the first paragraph. Since people want different things Livni's success could at best only make some people happy and when we're talking of Livni it would only make a small minority happy. And many people don't congratulate her and find the way that she came to head Kadima very suspect. "Livni needs to use her power ...Jerusalem". Sure she can loose Shas instantly if she wants to. I should have followed my instinct and given up after the first paragraph. Mike
4. Negotiating on Jerusalem would be terrorism against Jews.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (10.05.08)
5. jerusalem
fadi ,   lobnan   (10.05.08)
you don't negotiate something you don't own . jerusalem is jerusalem ..you just built west of it . it is ours and will still ours .
6. rothchild, jerusalem and livni
alexi   (10.05.08)
rothchild is wrong about livni, who is proceeding cautiously and not with flowering nonsense of the crooked criminal, and liar- coward olmert backed up by his 2 cowardly sons, and his accomplice wife who takes holidays on charity money.
7. Save Peace in Israel !! Peace=Heaven
Lutfi Altinel ,   Orhangazi,Turkey   (10.05.08)
Point by point Palestine conflict must be end with peace. However Jerusalem is Israel Capital. Firstly all terror problem must finish. Jerusalem is Holy Land of Israel ,seperate from Palestine. According to Torah is Holy City!! Jerusalem=Israel !! Palestenian must to undesrtand that with evil terror not be have any peace and future for Palestine. Between Jews and Palestinians all enemies must be finish. Palestinians must stop to support terror in Israel. Who make or support terror attacks they are in Hell. Anyone or country no have right to make jihad terror, muslims are in big mistake that make terror. Peace=Heaven!! Save Peace.
8. LIVNI HAS NO LEGITIMACY. JERUSALEM IS OURS !
(10.05.08)
9. To Jason, #1
DkS ,   J'lem, IL   (10.05.08)
I'd rather expel narrow-minded racist bigots like you from the country than any Israeli or Palestinian Arab. All your talkbacks are filled with hatred and frustration directed at every possible population segment. Maybe find a more healthy outlet for your inner rage than posting pathetic talkbacks and showing to the world what kind of racist extremists we have in our midst here. You're not doing sane Israelis, left or right wing, any favors. Oh, and btw: as a Jerusalemite, I can say the author of this article is right. There is indeed no need to consider Arab east Jerusalem a part of the city, it only works detrimental and is not in our interests. But that doesn't mean people have to be expelled. Creative solutions to save the city from ourselves should be found.
10. Livni's success
Andy Abe ,   Jerusalem   (10.05.08)
Way to go Livni! What a defeatest attitude from a general. Jerusalem belongs to the Jews 100% - as Dr Kedar mentioned, Jerusalem in NOT Mentioned in the Koran once. The biggest problem is those who think we have to be apologetic about it. If the arabs of east Jerusalem don't behave themselves they should be dealt with. Nothing less would happen to terroists in any other country. It's about time they realized they are in Israel as guests and guests that don't behave themselves deserve to be ejected. Enough of this leftist media brainwashing. Let see a Jew or an Israeli go and even sit in an arab palestinian town - they would fear for their life. They walk about freely here and they should behave or else be in fear the law.
11. Me thinks he speaks with forked tongue
Marty ,   USA   (10.05.08)
12. Rotschild a general in IDF (???)
m   (10.05.08)
This is why our country's security looks like that. Having this kind of generals do we need more to lose the war against enemies?
13. Negotiations on Jerusalem will lead to more bloodshed.
Rivkah   (10.05.08)
For Prime Minister designate Livni to say she will not negotiate Jerusalem is to seek God's favor. In the Navy, the term would be, "not on my watch." The Prophet Joel and Zechariah and Daniel and others warned that dividing God's land (Jerusalem in particular is meant here) leads to Armageddon and World War and the coming of the Messiah to judge the nations for how they treated the Jews. Delaying the awful events that lead up to that is the only wise recourse. It will be wonderful when the Messiah rules, but the bloodshed that leads up to that is horrific. I would not want that on my watch, either.
14. Livni is right
Yoel ,   Ra'nana   (10.05.08)
And it's time not to negociate with palestinians because we didn't get anything since Oslo. Only terror, and some promises concerning terror will stop. At the end , nothing. We sign agreement with Fatah, but its military wing (Al Aqsa matyrs Brigade) doesn't feel concerned, and goes on with terror. Hamas doesn't feel concerned at all and political side encourages its military one. At the end, no peace !!! We still have some stupid people who believe in peace, and are ready to give up more and more land. So, people, you live in Ramat Aviv? Show us the example by offering your homes. And then, you can go away from Israel, and will remain only those who as Zionists, still believe in this country. I can live in peace with my ennemy if he's my neighbor, but NOT if the wolf is already inside my house. Livni cannot negociate on a basis of some mandate nobody gave her.
15. #2 & #3 - Bravo
5th generation ,   Israel   (10.05.08)
"voted by nobody" "the way that she came to head Kadima very suspect" That is it in a nutshell. This is a creature who has taken no real risks or responsibilities, and can always look clean especially "all knowing" when she says "I told you so" after every problem the government runs into. Lucky for her, there will always be a catch-22 where Israel is concerned.
16. THE MELTING POT
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (10.05.08)
AS LONG AS ISLAM THEOLOGIANS DO NOT ALTER THEIR PHILOSOPHY OF THE ADVERSE SURHAS IN THE KORAN CONCERNING OUR ORIGINS FROM MONKEYS AND PIGS THERE WILL BE NO MELTING POT ,.DWELLING ON THOUGHTS SUCH AS THESE WILLNOT MAKE FOR GOOD NEIGHBOURLINESS..
17. There will never be peace with the Arabs
Australian Guy   (10.06.08)
This just part of the Islamic conquest of Israel. If they got what they wanted in Jerusalem - it would be then on to the next 'target' and so forth. I sympathize with those who really want to believe that Israel's existence is something to be negotiated...talked about, agreed upon. But sorry, you're dreaming. It wont happen - these guys have said over and over and over again they want you all dead or out. And that is the repeated position of the most powerful groups within the enemy. "Moderates" don't hold sway. I think there is ample evidence of their absolute intent in this area. You are negotiating with thugs. Stop pandering to these people and take it up to them. Israel has no friends that will really help her ...Israel is already a pariah to many and the only reason why the world collectively has not put a stop to Israel's activities - is because they know the enemy are but a bunch of low-life scum , the world's worst neighbors , who wouldn't like the problem themselves. Generally they resist from saying too much because they don't want to appear as hypocrites, although that doesn't stop some as we know. In order for Israel to survive - she needs to fight. Turning the other cheek is fine...negotiating is great but not possible when you are dead , and that is what these people genuinely wish upon you all and doing all that they can to achieve that end.
18. DkS Jerusalem #9
Steve ,   Fla.   (10.06.08)
The author wrote: "Jerusalem's security requires us to place several Arab neighborhoods beyond the separation wall." I see no immediate problem with this idea. What I would not want to see are Arab neighborhoods which are now part of east Jerusalem turned over to the Palestinian Authority as part of a larger Palestinian Muslim state in the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem. You think terrorism is bad now, wait till we establish Bush's vision of a Muslim terror state in Israel. Just wait and see what happens then.
19. WHATEVER ISRAEL GIVES, THE ARABS CRY - IT'S NOT ENOUGH !
AVRUM ,   CANADA   (10.06.08)
WHATEVER ISRAEL GIVES , THE ARABS CRY - IT'S NOT ENOUGH ! ISREAL MOVES OUT OF SOUTH LEBANON. ISRAEL MOVES OUT OF GAZA . WHAT DID ISRAEL GET ? PEACE ? NO PEACE-- JUST ROCKETS AND MORE ROCKETS FROM NORTH AND SOUTH. THE ARABS WILL NOT SETTLE FOR A PIECE OF LAND-- THIS ONLY ENCOURAGES THE ARABS IN THE BELIEF THAT ONLY WEAK NATIONS GIVE UP LAND
20. the point is
shatha ,   jerusalem   (10.06.08)
when a special group accept a leader i think the leader can not onlytoaccept what the group like .. it islivni and it is the leadershipin israil it is not a national leaderit is a leader for a special group
21. Economically depressed???
Akiva ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.06.08)
Gotta watch out for those economically depressed $75,000 BMW driving Arabs. After all, a bulldozer driver NIS 9,500 per month just doesn't know how he'll handle the pressure. What a load of feces. Now terror attacks are being done by people with incomes better than 50% of Israelis, and you want to say they are economically depressed. Wake up and smell the coffee!
22. To Akiva; Israel Has One Too Many Op-eds
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (10.06.08)
To Akiva: Israel has lots of chiefs and few indians it appears to this observer (from afar) for decades. Livni however did tell Israel, AND the world, something about herself and her policies in this old conflict. Israel now has a clear(er) choice...elect Livni P.M.or someone else (Bibi, etc.). She is a player, and has always been so. Bringing back Mofaz is but one maneuver. It's like John McCain bringing on board Giuliani as Attorney Gen,. Bill Cohen as Sec. of Defense..Colin Powell (Sec. of State). She is clever..BUT, is outsmarting herself. The writer of this article, IF the P.M., might act the same, or might not. Israel has lots of op-editors..too many just as it has 56 too many parties.
23. Stop worrying Danny...She's giving Jerusalem away regardless
Dr. Dave ,   NYC   (10.07.08)
She outmaneuvered Netanyahu and the rest with her lies about the Katif Surrender and now she'll do the same with Yishai who ONLY sees MONEY MONEY MONEY!
24. Jeusalem should not be up for negotiations.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (10.07.08)
The true demographic threat in Jerusalem is the freezing of Jewish building and the limitations placed on the natural growth of the capital by diplomatic initiatives, unless you expand the border of Jerusalem, including Arab neighborhoods – you wont have the area required to allow Jerusalem to expand. In order for Jerusalem to bloom and expand it should remain Jewish and entirely under Israeli sovereignty. Jerusalem should not be up for negotiation, it has always been the symbol of Jewish unity as explained at : http://xrl.us/bjheo
