1. General elections NOW! (end)
yehuda ,   Holit,Israel   (10.20.08)
2. A stable government - chosen by only 1% of the population???
Roscio ,   Rome, Italy   (10.20.08)
Livni wants to continue the Kadima dictatorship's deadly stranglehold on Israel by denying the Israeli citizens their fundamental right to ELECT their leaders. Kadima is hell-bent on stealing every last shekel out of Israel and then slicing up its poor carcass to meekly hand over the pieces to their Islamofascist masters. Livni has such a low opinion of the Israelis that she is sure they will stand by while she destroys the last shred of democracy in their country. THROW HER AND HER CORRUPT CRONIES OUT NOW.... Kadima is the most lethal existential threat that Israel is facing today, because it is a cancer from within.
3. Peres was placed there by Olmert to stall!
Shmendrik ,   ISrael   (10.20.08)
This is not democracy! Peres should not even have the power to decide Israels fate! ELections NOW!!!!
4. Democratic pluralism
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (10.20.08)
300 million Americans have two parties to choose one of them. How many parties do we have, we seven million Israelis? Three? Five? Ten? The one that can buy the others gets the government. No ideology, only buying power. Is this democracy?
5. Elections now, end the kadima corruption already.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (10.20.08)
6. Livni lies again
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (10.20.08)
Just last month she said that if she couldn't form a government in the normal time period, she would call general elections. Well guess what she lied again.
7. Another day another kadima lie
Arie ,   BaGolan   (10.20.08)
The leaders of the 1%ers PROMISED that if they couldn't form a government within the proscribed time, they would agree to GENERAL ELECTIONS where the citizens would have the vote. Yet again, they failed to attain a compromise government and again they prove their worth by refusing to surrender the mantle of government and let the people decide who should lead!
8. livne
das ,   israel   (10.20.08)
what a waste of time. the woman is good for nothing. how she got to where she is is UNREAL. she is totally over -rated and is not capable of doing anything. pls - someone tell me 3 things that she has done as a member of the government (minister of justice and foreign minister.) in my opinion she only learned how to comb her hair.
9. Peres gives Livni an Extension
Larry ,   zefat Israel   (10.20.08)
Impressive at his age.
10. the dirtiest word in Israel is democracy hail our dictaitors
zionist forever   (10.20.08)
As expected President Oslo is would rather than Queen Livni be allowed the time she needs to pay off $ha$ rather than give the public the election they have been demanding for the past two years. Better to bend the rules get a Livni / Meeretz government than hold an election and get a Natanyahu one. The only reason for the Kadima primary which allowed Livni to become PM by just 431 members of her own party was for the spesific purpose of avoiding a general election. Being PM because she got 431 more Kadima votes than Mofaz gives her no more mandate to run the country than Olmert, if anything Olmert has a greater mandate as he was at least elected in a general rather than a Kadima primary. Israel has never had much democracy because of its political system but this regime has killed it. The palestinians are willing to hold presidential elections as soon as possible, Iraqis recently elected their first ever government. Israel has gone further and further down the path of dictaitorship and nobody is making any effort to stop it.
11. OH FOO! IT IS HIGH TIME THE KADIMA GOVT COLLAPSED!
stude ham   (10.20.08)
peres, as usual, does Israel no favour in allowing this kadima party to try and stay in power.
12. Kadima Must Be sSopped.
A.C.Guard ,   USA   (10.20.08)
The only way for the Israelis to stop this nonsence is to take to the streets and protest day after day. The country is being stolen and will be sold right out from under your feet by the likes of Olmert, Livni and Peres. They should be jailed as traitors.
13. Peres you selfish old man The people demand Elections NOW!
Shmendrik ,   Israel   (10.20.08)
14. A little patience please.
jason white ,   afula,israel   (10.21.08)
We have to see the amount of money sippy the pinhead will destroy Israel just to get into power. We need new elections and if we get a good coalition without the hara-dim, the leftists, the ungrateful dead(gil) or any other members of the present gang i charge, then we are on the road to recovery. We need to get back our independence and we need to be strong with our enemies. Let our enemies learn to fear us again. I would like to see the whole present coalition and the arab parties stand trial for treason. The same goes for the anti state n.g.o.s. Time to cut off all funds to anti Israel groups here. Finally the punishment for treason should be death not prison.
15. Anarchists shut up already
Ron Morris ,   Herzeliya   (10.21.08)
There is a thing called "law". Peres is upholding the law. Israel is a democracy, which doesn't necesarily mean the common man gets to to vote for the people who run the country. It means that the common man must follow the law. Peres is the most honorable statesman in the government and having him in charge is a sure sign that things are being run properly. With all this screaming you think it would be better if right wing extremists ran the country just because the average moronic Israeli wants it. The left wing has always run the country and is doing a great job. They are going to bring us peace, and this is important because no right wing politician could bring a signed peace agreement. Peres is the expert on peace. He brought us a singed peace agreement and he will bring us a government that is good for the REAL Israel, not right wing crazies.
16. Peres, law, peace for Israel
kman ,   Spokane, Wa.   (10.22.08)
I can agree Peres is an honorable man and has law on his side. It stops there. You think Israel can have peace?? I'm sorry but, you booked a trip on a dream boat. Hang on for the ride of yours and Israel's life.
