1. A rocket attack is an act of war and must be answered
Rami   (10.21.08)
Destroy 1/2 of Gaza towns immediately - the rockets will stop.
2. Was this worth a few months of "calm" for Sderot?
Saul ,   California   (10.21.08)
We'll see once Hamas's new tunnel-supplied toys start flying in a few weeks. Really, what other country on earth would consider buying a few months' peace in exchange for letting its enemy rearm on a massive scale, a legitimate security doctrine?
3. THE ROCKETS WERE NOT FIRED FROM
Joel ,   Jerusalem   (10.21.08)
The rockets were never fired from Gaza, they were all but the first 5 fired from the Knesset in Jerusalem. It is not the idea of the crime that promotes use of terror, it is politician's interest in position and money prior to protecting the Israel state.
4. The Usual Idiots
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (10.22.08)
As always, their own worst enemy. There really is no hope for them however, these lame brains don't seem to be aware of that fact.
5. Israel should uproot Hamas once and for all.
Robert Bernier   (10.22.08)
Under the circumstances, what is needed is not negotiations with Hamas, but strong military action against it. Israel should not undertake a brief incursion, but a major invasion of Gaza to uproot Hamas once and for all. If the Israeli leadership doesn’t take such action, it risks Hamas growing into an even greater menace to the State of Israel than it is today as described at : http://xrl.us/kkxrc
6. A BORDER CROSSING CLOSED....BIG DEAL
Anthony ,   USA   (10.22.08)
When are you Israelis going to wake up and take back your government and defend yourselves. Do whatever is necessary, including violence, to oust your current leaders. This group of politicians have never and will never protect you.THEY CARE MORE ABOUT THEIR OWN POWER THAN THEY CARE ABOUT PROTECTING YOU. TAKE TO THE STREETS AND DEMAND NEW ELECTIONS NOW....AND DON"T ELECT THE SAME CROOKS AGAIN.
7. Gaza should prove that the Palestinians DON'T deserve a ...

country. Given a chance they have shown that they are more interested in pursuing terrorism and building a terrorist state than they are in building a nation. It would be far better to push the Palestinians out of Gaza and just deport them to Egypt. See if the Eqyptians put up with their nonsense. I doubt it. The two state solution is a prescription for disaster. Palestinians are not interested in state, they are only interested in legitimized base from which they can launch terrorist attacks against Israel. I wonder what the U.S. would do if Mexican seperatist would lob rockets at Brownsville, TX. I don't think they would just stand by and tell the folks in Brownsville to put up with it like the current Israeli government has told Sedrot and Ashkelon. The same idiots that geve back the Gaza now give into the terrorism. I wonder how long it will take for the Israeli's to get rid of the curent government.
8. Give gaza to egypt, its already connected by tunnels.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (10.22.08)
9. Punishment does not fit the crime
Ron Morris   (10.22.08)
This is yet another case of the government giving in to the right wing fanatic crazies. It was ONE rocket and didn't do any damage. Why jeopardize the peace process over it. And even if it did land in Sderot, it is their choice to live in such a ridiculous place. The government has no obligation to go to absurd lengths to protect every lunatic that decides to live in a weird, dangerous, location. There is no reason why I should live in a sate of war because of a few rockets falling on a couple hundred fringe weirdos.
10. Crime and Punishment
tov klein ,   whistler B.C. Canada   (10.22.08)
After having read a certain Mr. Morris comment about the punishment fitting the crime,I find the greater crime is Mr. Morris` inane response to be less than sober..the suggestion that all those who live in Sderot are loony and should move to a safer enclave insn`t a response to the problem,it is in fact, the white flag of surrender...Just where would Mr.Morris prefer us to move,perhaps......Jerusalem,leaving a vast no-man`s land twixt the Aza and the capital....yup,that would be a great solution, and as everybpody eventually hudd;les in Jeusalem o Tel Aviv, for that matter, just what will the elite such as you, have fo the last bastion of safety fom the Qasaams? And will you be happy with the bombardment, and ask yourself why they would be firing at you, because you made such a safe decision for yourself and family...and what does this all have to do with ,as KoKo says in the Mikado,``Let the punishment fit the Crime?????
11. Where do YOU live Mr. Morris?
L ,   Elad, Israel   (10.22.08)
Oh, I'm going to guess by your rabid use of the term "right wing fanatic crazies" that you live in...liberals-ville, Israel (aka: Tel Aviv). Am I right, am I right??? Sderot is not a Daniella Weiss settler project any more than Ashkelon is. No "right wing fanatic crazies". Just regular Israelis trying to live their lives. When we were deciding where to live I told my husband "NOT over the Green Line" (or the Idiot "government" du jour will give it away and have our "occupied territory"-but-still-dutifully-collected-arnona-taxes pay for our own IDF to haul our tushies off of it). Very sensible, right? Elad is not a "wierd, dangerous location" -- we're on the "good side" of the Green Line. Well, guess what? If Olmert and Livni have their way (definitely NOT the way of the "right wing fanatic crazies") and give up the "Occupied West Bank", just as they gave up Gaza......Elad will be the next "Sderot". Easy rocket range. Let me tell you, Sderot was not always the "SDEROT: Rocket City!" headliner it is now. At one point it was possible to sell one's house and move elsewhere and people would buy and move to Sderot, a nice quiet place. Now, if one's entire life's savings is invested in a house there, who will just pick up and leave it behind...and with WHAT money to relocate??? Will some idiot actually buy a house in "SDEROT: Rocket city"?!?! By the way, if you live anywhere in Israel, the rest of the world thinks you're in a "weird, dangerous location" and you are. But it's home. It's all relative. P.S. - (by the way: did you know that many Gush Katif people now living in dinky caravans are still paying for mortgages on beautiful homes ripped out from under them with no help from the one's who ripped them off?)
