1. Let peres stay home!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (10.29.08)
Let him keep out of politics and stop traveling around the world at our expense.
2. WOW! I feel fuzzy all over.
Talula ,   Israel   (10.29.08)
3. Taqiya conference for Dhimmwits.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (10.29.08)
Another propaganda white-wash for a totalitarian ideology attended by useful idiots & dhimmwits. You should be ashamed to print such a load of bull......
4. Interfaith mediation
Yiannis Kareklas ,   Athens , Greece   (10.29.08)
Before interfaith mediation between moslems , jews , christians...., moslems have to stop killing people around the world and stop killing themselves as well. I do not understand why every time I travel , I have to pay for an airport security tax because of all thoses terrorists ( arabs) , why I have to pay for a higher petrol price when the arabs are trying to control the world economy . Interfaith peace means no more violence and sharing world wealth : the rich giving to the poor ( it is so written in the Coran and the Bible ).
5. THERE IS A HIDDEN AGENDA...
stude ham   (10.29.08)
under the guise of 'faith' the israel reps will be pressured to accept a so-called 'peace' plan ... whiose main purpose is really to have israel return all of its lands. or else why bring up the saudi papers on this issue in this article?
6. Of course…
burka lesbian ,   Chop square, Ryadh   (10.29.08)
Israel will run as a puppy in this "conference" and praise the Saudi "peace" plan. If Israel had a balls, it would refuse to come to this circus in the stronghold of racism, terrorism, public executions and human rights abuse.
7. Saudi Arabia remains, aggressively and murderously ...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (10.29.08)
Saudi Arabia remains, aggressively and murderously hostile to Israel. While Saudi Arabia no doubt does see Iran as a greater threat than Israel, this has not changed Saudi promotion of an extreme Wahhabi brand of Islam - with its vehement anti-Jewish and anti-Christian message - in mosques and schools throughout Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. It has not changed Saudi support for terrorist groups targeting Israel. It has not changed Saudi dedication to the goal of Israel’s dissolution. In fact, since the Khomeini revolution in Iran in 1979 and the subsequent Iranian Hajj attacks in Mecca, the Saudi response to the Iranian challenge has not been moderation of its policies and its attitudes towards Israel and the West but rather a more aggressive promotion of Wahhabi extremism worldwide to compete with the Shiit extremism being exported by the Iranian mullahs. Yet Israeli leaders look at Saudi words and deeds and somehow detect a moderate and friendly message in them, and construe a limited and transient convergence of interests as reason to make permanent concessions to a party that remains, beyond the interests of the moment, aggressively and murderously hostile. 8. NO to Wahhabist Crap
Brod ,   uSA   (10.29.08)
Israel should say NO to this Wahhabist Taqiyyah crap. Saudi terrorists attacked America on 9/11. Saudi Arabia is the main Sponsor of Islamist-Jihadist terrorism around the world! It makes Americans sick to see Bush holding hands with the Wahhabist Chieftain in Crawford. Unfortunately, Bush does not have the brilliance of Nixon. He probably has never read any books on Current Affairs that have proliferated since 9/11. It is time not to be fooled by the Saudis.
9. Religious Freedom
MazalUK ,   London, England   (10.29.08)
If the Saudies are so keen on religious freedom, why do they not allow the practice of religions other than Islam in their feudal state?
10. Send Abbas he has no failth

11. What Do You Have To Lose?
Shimon ,   Cincinnati, USA   (10.29.08)
Go and be soberly friendly. Remind them who hid Mohammad from their own ancestors when they wished to kill him. Remind them we want peace. Remind them Yeshu was a Jewish Rabbi, first and foremost. Remind them that only through peace and nonviolence can the true spirit of G-d be realized.
12. JASON WHITE IS WRONG
Richard Cohen ,   London UK   (10.29.08)
It seems that Jason cannot let a day pass when he does not take a swipe at his President. Let him reflect on the words of Bismarck about Disraeli "Der Alte Jude das ist der Mann". I have seen Shimon Peres receive a standing ovation in the UK Parliament. Would Jason rather have a President who is reviled than revered internationally.
13. Easy for you to say from London, Mr. Cohen (12)
Erich ,   Liberated Jerusalem   (10.29.08)
Whether or not Peres, Beilin and co. receive standing ovations in London is not the yardstick by which to measure what is best for Israel. Arafat of cursed memory received his fair share of standing ovations as well.
14. Why in New York
Jackie ,   Florida   (10.29.08)
Since most of the people coming would be from the Middle East and Europe would it not make sense to hold such a meeting in Saudi Arabia? Of course, there might have to be changes to Saudi law to allow non-Muslimps to worship while in that country, but I am sure the king is a reasonable man (sarcasm button on)
15. king
(10.29.08)
king, first ban the law that prohibits practicing other religions in your own country because this ban will really SERVE AS AN EXAMPLE THAT YOU ARE NOT SAYING BULL SHIT, BUT YOU MEAN WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT TOLLERANCE. clean your house first, king. then we can talk. let christians, jews and israelis come into your country as free men, children and women, just like israel does...the true tollerant country in the middle east. stop slavery of blacks and asians, stop cracking down on those that do not share the same faith you do. stop your corruption and terror funding and your wahabism as an absolute religion in your kingdom. then you can invite whomever you wish to take you seriously. otherwise, you are just mumbling, not talking peace. you are just giving lip service to all other religion, while, behind their back, you resent and do not tollerate them at all. recognize not only other religions' rights to practice their faith in your country, recognize israel as a state for israelis and jews in the middle east, the3n we can come and talk. until then, you just need this discussion for political resons, not for tollerance issues.
16. Interfaith
misaac ,   Reston, US   (10.29.08)
Glad to hear that we have advanced from the level of "sons of pigs & monkeys". I'm flattered. At the meeting we should ask for the "right of return" to Medina in Saudi Arabia, where Jews used to live (but were slaughtered). Perhaps we should also ask for a presence in Mecca, the location has religious significance to Jews. Should be an interesting meeting
17. Interfaith conference, Saudi Initiative
Bill Staar ,   Chicago USA   (10.29.08)
If the Saudi Peace Initiative is to succeed, they need to give Israel the green light to build there temple. This conference just might be able to bring that about.
18. abdullah peace summit
rich ,   pittsburgh, pa, usa   (10.30.08)
excuse me abdully, I ain't your brother. your koran states that Jesus was never crucified, and since Jesus is the only begotten Son of G-d which you don't believe; then my father g-d is different than your god so we ain't bros !!!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-t7PmonBEA goldieshouse.piczo.com
