1. Certainly!, Syria has the right to intercept themٍ
observer   (10.31.08)
Israel is trying to drag Syria in in order to save Israel's face by finding excuses to avert resuming peace talk with Syria.
2. So what are they going to do about it.
Eynav Benjamin ,   usa   (10.31.08)
3. A whole squadron over Lebanon...
trumpeldor ,   eurabia   (10.31.08)
It had to be a geat view Reflecting former president E Weizmann view:"best israeli line of defence is 20000 feet over Cairo"
4. #1 Can you read?
Eytan ,   los angeles   (10.31.08)
Syria? Last time I check the map syria and lebanon are to different countries. Oh wait but you wouldn't know that because you have no idea about what you usually post here.
5. Make My Day!
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (10.31.08)
Syria intercepting Isrel jets? Remember 1982, Observer. Syria tried that and lost 80 Migs over the Bekaa Valley. Don't try that again, Syria!
6. Dream on, Syria is unable to intercept them.
Cynic ,   USA   (10.31.08)
7. observer #1 Syria smarter than you
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (10.31.08)
The last time they tried that it cost them 180 aircraft without hitting a darn things. So by all means go ahead Syria. Israel is the largest distributor of MiG parts in the entire world. We have distributed then over many lands and seas.
8. Re:1
Screw Syria   (10.31.08)
Why would Israel want peace with Syria. Israel would be stupid to give back the Golan...so then the Syrians can shoot at Israeli towns...who need this kind of peace. Go read a history book Observer.
9. #4-7 it was arrogance
observer   (10.31.08)
which led to the 1973 humiliation. it was arrogance which made you believe that you won in 1973. Who spoke about the Migs kits? when the security of Syria is jeopardized, it would never depend on them; you have only to recall the old SAM toys to get shaky knees?

11. GO Israel!
Roger ,   Atlanta - US   (10.31.08)
I hope they blast the hell out of any country that is firing missles into their country. They have a right to do so, and to say anything different is pure ignorance. If someone was shooting into your house, you would shoot back too. BTW, I am not Israeli or Jewish. Just an American that thinks the Palestinians should have their ignorant, hating butts kicked. Their ignorance is their only defense
12. reply to #9 observer
Bandar ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (10.31.08)
You want to see their skinny jewish legs shaky? just observe when some one plants a Hezbollah flag on the border fence.
13. IF HEZBULLAH THROWS A ROCK , ISRAEL WILL MAKE A PARKING LOT
HAL TRIPP ,   LA PAZ, BOLIVIA   (10.31.08)
HEZBULLAH IS PLAYING WITH FIRE THIS TIME, THE GLOVES ARE OFF WITH THE IDF, THEY WILL MAKE THE ENTIRE SOUTH LEBANON A HUGE PARKING LOT
14. To 9 So thats why the USSR
(10.31.08)
Threatened to intervene with nuclear missiles if Israel continued to save it's Arab proxies? This is why IDF positions were bombarding with heavy artillery the outskirts of Damascus? This is why the IDF was racing and only stopped 101 km away from Cairo? You have a lot of arrogance to proclaim 'humililation'. You attacked Israel, when put simply it was asleep and then had to beg that the Soviets extricate yourselves from that situation which you had deservedly so put yourselves into. The fact is that Israeli victories are not measured in the number of Arab tanks, soldiers, and etc destroyed. It is measured by the fact that due to insurmountable odds, ranging from massive boycotts, inhumane and daily terror attacks, and at least one major war for every decade since it's re-birth, Israel is still around. And more importantly it continue to thrive and flourish, with that and that this continues to burn the entire Arab world, is Israels true victory. That were there yesterday, still here today, and will be here tomorrow. However, I cannot say the same for you or those seeking to destroy Israel.
15. #10 wake up from your coma..Israel can take out
Dan ,   USA   (10.31.08)
the whole Middle East. Had it not been the case the Arabs would have destroyed Israel a long, long time ago. However, since they cannot do it they have a developed a different strategy, a Saudi Plan. They want to shrink Israel only to attack it later.
16. #14 - the palestinians are SO scary!!!
Roger ,   Atlanta, USA   (10.31.08)
You got that right, #14 Want you to know, there are others like us in America who fully agree with Israel's right to peacefully exist (in land Israel originally inhabited anyway - the palestinian arguement is ridiculous). They just can't stand the fact that they are really powerless on their own to really do anything about Israel flourishing. it is a reminder to them that they are impotent idiots. We also agree with you that you IDF guys are pretty hard core, and quite impressive fighters - I think #9 is dillusional - he is lucky Israel did not wipe out his lineage in 1973 - he should really not even exist, except for Israel's own restraint. The "brave and worthy" palestinians (#9) throw rocks, and run back into the shadows - like a bunch of cockroaches. Americans stand with Israel. BTW - this story was printed on Foxnews.com, which is how I ended up on this site. Glad I did.
17. after 1973; the proof is the more you talk the less you act
observer   (10.31.08)
since 73, Israel has never won a war
18. Ah, Observer, one question-What will
Allan ,   US   (10.31.08)
Syria use to shoot at the IAF? Falafel balls? Their SAM sites will be taken out before they had a chance to warm up their radar.
19. #17 proof
Roger ,   Atlanta, USA   (10.31.08)
That is because no one is stupid enough to even try it. Except of course for the cockroaches across the border, of course.
20. #18 you cant cross the bridge before reaching it
(10.31.08)
you cant know before you try.
21. observer I was in the IDF in 1973
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (10.31.08)
As a matter of fact I was about 100 kilometers outside of Cairo. Whereas the Egyptians were about 400 kilometers from any of our cities. The only reason we didn't take Cairo is that we didn't want it. The Arabs haven't won a battle in the last 400 years, let alone a war. It's skill not arrogance that is showing, whereas yours is pure stupidity.
22. reply to #21
(11.01.08)
2000 & 2006 remember those?
23. #22 hezbollah propaganda
tom ,   toronto, canada   (11.01.08)
the "great victory" of 2006? how come hezbollah never admitted its casualties? because it lost 2/3 of its forces, over 600 fighters, in the "great victory". and got another 600 lebanese civilians that it was using as its human shields killed. any more "great victories" like that one, and hezbollah won't have enough members left to bury its dead! maybe that's why nasrallah, the chief cockroach, hasn't seen daylight in over 2 years - he's too afraid of another such "victory"!
24. #22 sure do and we sure as heck didn't lose either one
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.01.08)
Since we managed to gain ground, and didn't lose any, inflicted casualities at about 4 to 1 ratio and were never even close to using a small fraction of our military I hardly consider them worth much. The Syrians have never won a battle in their ENTIRE history, their equipment is about 1950s technology and their experience is only in running and surrender, they wouldn't even consider taking on the IDF. But those are mere facts you base your ideas on fantasy.
25. A further round of conflict is only a matter of time.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (11.01.08)
The 2006 war must be understood as a single campaign within a broader Middle Eastern conflict, between pro-Western and democratic states on the one hand, and an alliance of Islamist and Arab nationalist forces on the other. The latter alignment has as one of its strategic goals the eventual demise of the State of Israel. While such a goal may appear delusional, given the true balance of forces involved, the inconclusive results of the 2006 war did much to confirm the representatives of the latter camp in their belief that they have discovered a method capable of eventually producing a strategic defeat for Israel. It is therefore expected that a further round of conflict is only a matter of time. Israel, meanwhile, must endeavor to develop a strategy capable of striking a blow in a future engagement sufficient to restore its credible deterrence once again. As to peace : http://xrl.us/ostjf

Shmendrik ,   Israel   (11.01.08)
Yes, i remember .............. we had the enemy surrounded and were ready to obliterate them, but, because of the humanity and kindness we posses, we bowed down to US and EU pressure to retreat.
