1. This is Because of the "Free Salit" people
rh ,   Modiin Israel   (11.05.08)
You all keep going on about "Shallit Shallit" pushing up the value of kidnapping soldiers. The Palestinians see the targets as high value, dig a tunnel. Now we have two injured soldiers, who also have names and photos and mothers and fathers. Gilad Shallit should fall on his sword to save the lives of others
2. Thanks for helping bibis campaign
zionist forever   (11.05.08)
The terrorists brought Bibi to power over left wing Peres first time round and now this increase in terror will probably work for Bibi. Sell out Livni likes things quiet it allows her to justify doing bad deals to advance her career. We need to end this farce that we have been calling a ceacefire, so Olmert, Livni & Barak could quieten things down a little allow them to start doing deals and ease up on the politcal heat so they could stay in power snd stop some of the criticisms. As a result we took a Hamas that was on its knees because they had been hurt so bad by the Gaza seige and now we have allowed them to smugggle in new weapons, they are getting gas, concrete for building, money to pay bills. If this so called ceascefire which they have broken time and time again and we do nothing to stop other than close the borders for a day because we wanted to avoid means breaking this surrender to the terrorists. We need a new strong Likud led right wing government that will smash the terrorists and not make irrisponsible deals for the sake of legacy
3. Are they celebrating an Obama victory?
Stephanie ,   Israel   (11.05.08)
Now that the Palestinians have a president that will be a strong ally to them Israel must vote in a strong right-wing government who will be able to stand up to President Barak Hussein Obama.
4. SO CALLED DEEP STATE OF ISRAEL AT WORK.
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (11.05.08)
5. I'd call that an act of war but I guess that would label...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.05.08)
... label me as a right wing extremist. Are you sure it wasn't the Jewish "settlers" or the Haradim this time?
6. They know we won't do anything.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.05.08)
By now, everyone realizes that Israel is paralyzed. Inaction is our new foreign policy. Sure, a few blowhard politicians will make a speech or two. Barak will close the border crossings for 15 minutes. That's about it.
7. dedicated to our glorious leaders
chop-chop   (11.05.08)
A "cheap" Govt., run by "cheap"leaders created a" dubious" army to defend "cheap",very "cheap" citizens of Sderot,Kissufim crossing,Ashkelon an others. This (their) once-in-for-all decisive action is just a pipe dream, a myth, created by a bunch of incredibly weak, irresponsible, almost worthless lawmakers with blinkers on their eyes, and minds a la Amir Perez As in the past, our leaders are waiting for a "substantial"increase in casualties in order to justify an appropriate "response" ---And that stupid Tit for Tat will go on, and on, and on........!
8. More than 35 attempted deaths
Zion   (11.05.08)
Find 35 terrorists, eliminate them.
9. What would obama think?
DM ,   Amsterdam   (11.05.08)
Will the new administration bomb Israel instead of Iran?
10. Clobber Gaza Now
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (11.05.08)
No sovereign nation should suffer attack from foreign soil without an immediate and forceful reaction. That is, no "rational" sovereign nation should suffer this.
11. IDF should protect the nation
Brod ,   USA   (11.05.08)
Where is the IDF? They should hit the attackers hard and immediately. If they can't, Israel should have a new Defense Minister who can protect the nation.
12. What's the big deal?
Ron Morris   (11.05.08)
Look at the picture. It barely made a dent in the grass. Is it worth going to war just because a park suffers a little damage? I for one am not willing to attack a densely populated civilan center just because of a few oversized bottle rockets randomly set off. I am sure they weren't aiming at Ashkelon. The Palestinians don't hate Israel. They hate settlers.
13. Bomb them from the air
Kim ,   Tel Aviv   (11.05.08)
Keep our boys out. I'm sure they have enough information to guide any missiles. Besides, an Apache helicopter or an F-16 flying over your head, knowing it's going to drop its load, is scarier. I hope they all rot in hell. I also can't understand why the crossings were closed - what the HELL were they doing open? Our government are stupid Fools. They don't understand the hidden power we have. And, it doesn't come by way of missiles, it comes in the form of suffocation of the Gaza Strip.
14. Ron Morris, do you live in the South Pole?
Zion   (11.05.08)
15. SITTING DUCKS
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (11.05.08)
With all their advanced war tools the IDF at the hands of cowardice leaders has made the citizizens of this land into sitting ducks at the mercy of indiscriminate ruthless killers. Knowing the ultimate stupidity that has this land in its grip , there is not a grain of deterrance left and the enemy will only get bolder. Well at least we know that the disengagement from gaza has been a great sucses, this is peace a la Herzelism.
16. The city of Ashkelon.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (11.05.08)
Ashkelon is a beautiful little seaside city of 120.000 inhabitants. Life in Ashkelon was always peaceful and pleasant. Will the Israeli government permit the lot of Ashkelon to become as the one of Sderot or will the government react efficiently against the criminals of the Gaza Strip? The main target of the terrorists are the civilian population. The presence of the press on the battle field and the Geneva Chart are luxuries that a land in war cannot efford. We should fight with all means in order to win as described at : http://xrl.us/bi3q3
17. Hamass has repeatedly tried to cause havoc.
Vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (11.05.08)
There have been numerous attacks that have gone unreported by the media both here and abroad, and at last we have woken up. Sod the truce they broke it just after it began. We should finnish it off by blasting them into Egypt where they belong.
18. Nothing in - Nothing out!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (11.05.08)
Nice idea to bomb them into submission but it won't work. They are lunatics who place no value on life and rejoice in killing and suicide. Dead people cannot suffer and can you just image the outcry from all the lefties about war crimes and Israeli brutality towards the poor Palestinians in Gaza and let's throw in the West Bank just in case. No, bombs are not the solution. Nor is sending in our soldiers to get killed. We cannot "wipe Gaza off the face of the Earth" even if we would like to. The only way is to seal the border totally. Nothing goes in and no one comes out, even if he is dying because cause excruciating pain from hemorrhoids! Yes, the world will squeal about human rights but that's just too bad. Another thought is will President Elect Obama negotiate with Hamas? Time will tell. What's the big deal with Bibi? He gave away Hebron, the cornerstone of Judaism because another Democratic President said so!
19. Dis-engaging? How clever my Dear
Gideon Reader   (11.05.08)
Boy! That "dis-engagement" idea sure has brought peace with the nasty neighbors. Good thing Gush Katif was disbanded and it's inhabitants were dispersed. Otherwise there would not be a calm and untouched Ashkielon. Oh well. Maybe Zipperella can 'splain it mo' betta during the runup to elections.
20. 35+ Qassams fired at Israel
Roxy ,   Israel   (11.05.08)
This is unfortunately only the beginniing of things to come, the terrorist have no fear of us, they know Obama will talk with them and negioate away more Israel's land to them in exchance for another worthless cease fire.
21. Qassam on Ashkelon
DT ,   TA Isr   (11.05.08)
For every Qassam that falls it is another nail in the coffin of Kadima and Barak, not only the most corrupt Govt in our time but the most inept and incapable but the most cowardly
22. Palestinians - frothing at the mouth like mad dogs
lion ,   in zion   (11.05.08)
. . . waiting for the date of US elections - seems as good a reason as any - to start your fooling with fire again. (Ron Morris, you are a dolt)
23. Barak -We Surrender
Marcel ,   Florida   (11.05.08)
The defeatist Labor of Barak and Kadima of Olmert are ready to surrender more land to the enemy ,Only this time it is not just Judea and Samaria but Ashkelon,Ashdod,Sederot and all the cities that surround Bush's first Road Map victory of Hamastan, Gaza. This is the outcome of the fraudelent peace process you were so dedicated to follow .
24. #12, Ron, are you sane? Just wondering.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (11.05.08)
The picture has nothing to do with the damage potential of a Qassam rocket - browse Ynet's own archives for blast and shrapnel damage, which can go anywhere from tearing through a building, to tearing a person apart. And yes, they were aiming at Ashkelon. Just like they were aiming at all those non-settler Israelis for the past several YEARS.
25. #3 HOPEFULLY IT DOESN'T TAKE QASSAMS IN TEL AVIV TO ELECT PM
dp   (11.05.08)
by the time anything is done hamas will have made good on their promise
26. reply to #9
(11.05.08)
"What would Obama think?". He would think Israel deserved it.
27. Like Israeli democracy, Truce is a fake
Yoni ,   Chiloquin   (11.05.08)
A democracy is a system that elects individual candidates to office, not elite clubs that do not represent the citizens who voted. A truce is the sensation of all hostilities. Most Sabras need a beginners course in basic social conduct, no wonder they don't know they have an Oligarchy government and an active war against them.
28. Ron Morris #12 What's the big deal!?!?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.05.08)
Let me fire 35 rockets at your house and then ask again. You are ranting like a moron. 'The Palestinians don't hate Israel. They hate settlers.' One word bullshit! They hate Israel and have said so many times. Learn to read idiot. Israel needs to end all supplies and start carpet bombing the entire Gaza strip.
29. Fireworks for OBAMA, Israel lost and they won
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (11.05.08)
30. residents of sderot and ashkelon start packing your bags
chaim ,   brooklyn ny   (11.05.08)
this pathetic cowardly leftist government of kadima and labor, will not defend you, because they are saving the IDF firepower for much more important tasks, like throwing out a few hundred thousand more jews from their homes in YESHA. just remember this by the next election, and make sure to vomit out these two pathetic leftist self hating party's
