4. Not a word about Iran ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.09.08)
Nor about the world-wide campaign of anti-Semitic propaganda by Islamic totalitarians. If he can't relate the past to today, he didn't learn much of a lesson.
5. Iran and Islamic terrorism are the implicit topic
Robert D. Onley ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.09.08)
Perhaps the author should have mentioned Iran's current overt propagation of anti-Semitic vitriol, and in so doing relate the past to today, however such a connection is implicit within Foxman's argument. Israel must soon stand up against anti-Semitic forces - and I feel they will - because indeed Israel has no other choice. The lesson of Kristallnacht is truly to confront evil before it manifests itself. At the current juncture in history we find ourselves in, Israel (and the world) must simply move to eradicate forces of hatred and anti-Semitism. Unfortunately, the world has shown Israel is likely alone in this endeavor. And while war is sadly the worst means by which to remove these forces of evil, Islamic terrorist groups like Hezbullah have made clear that war is the only means by which they operate. There is absolutely no room for negotiation with such barbarians. The Dahiya strategy must be applied to its fullest. Iran and Hezbullah must be incapacitated.
6. #4 Not a word about Iran
Gary ,   US   (11.10.08)
It's implied.
7. Anti-Semite & the world
massimo ,   NY,USA   (11.10.08)
My dearest wish is to see peace between the State of Israel & the Palestinians.with Palestinians we'll have all the Arabs & the Islamic world on board, but in order o do that,We must uproot & destroy the seeds of hatred among the people and it'll take sometime but it'll happen.Anti-Sematic didn't start with the Arabs or Muslims, but it started since 250 C.E until our present day and it's every where and you might not see it or reas about it but it's there Unfortunately it's on the rise. Either you agree or disagre with me, Arabs & Jews have the same mentality & behave & think the same way.Let's get to the roots of the problems among both people and I'm sure, religions has nothing to do with the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.try to think as a Palestinian & then as an Israeli and you'll be fair to both sides.
8. An extremely offensive article
Marlene N. ,   New York City   (11.10.08)
Mr. Foxmnn who never gives up his rhetoric on anti-semitism. As long as he wishes to speak about Kristallnacht, then he should be focusing on the pogroms taking place in Israel and also in Israel's back yard and the scribbling by radical Jews saying "Arabs to the Gas Chambers." which is just the tip of the iceberg. Mr. Foxman needs to wake up and focus on the hatred and racism that is ingrained in Israeli society instead of diverting attention from it and that which is perpetrated upon the Palestinians. Obviously, the State of Israel and Zionism have not learned too much from the past, but have no problem in forever reminding the world about it as they carry on their own deep-rooted racism and hatred. In case Mr. Foxman is not aware, Palestinians and Muslims have become the new Jews therefore, we must stop hate in its tracks before it leads to another final solution.
9. #8 - Marlene, An extremely offensive talkback...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (11.10.08)
Ms. Nowreski who never gives up her anti-semitic rhetoric. As long as she wishes to speak about Jews rightfully living in their homeland after 1400 years of dhimmitude and occupation, then she should be focusing on the pogroms taking place in Israel and also in Israel's back yard and the shouting by radical Arabs saying "Slaughter the Jews." which is just the tip of the iceberg. Ms. Nowreski needs to wake up and focus on the hatred and racism that is ingrained in Arab and Muslim society instead of diverting attention from it and that which has perpetrated upon the Jews unceasingly for 1400 years. Obviously, she has not learned too much from the past (most likely because she never once opened up a history book or was born yesterday), but has no problem in forever reminding the world about the plight of Israel's Arab occupiers as they carry on their own deep-rooted racism and hatred. In case Ms. Nowreski is not aware, Palestinians and Muslims have always brutalized, occupied and humiliated Jews, we must stop hate in its tracks before it leads to another final solution.
