I note with interest that various officials are talking about giving up territories - even returning to the '67 borders. At the same time comments are being made about right wing extremists needing to be contained. Each aspect in their own right is cause for concern. In combination, as I understand the situation, there is an attempt to thwart a major backlash against a move to return to the '67 borders, probably one of the most dangerous moves Isreal could make. In a world that, many view, as much more civilized, keeping peace, etc., we see rogue and not-so-rogue governments do as they please. It is clear, even with the best will in the world, no one will be there to maintain any agreements except Israel itself. It should also be noted that the enemy states are no longer isolated to bordering countries and the warfare technology is second to none. Added to this, those immigrants of non-Jewish origin, who maintain there antisemitic views and behaviour, and the picture becomes even worse.
