As we have Menahem Mazuz as attourney general Olmert will sadly probably be given a get out of jail free card and after that he will make millions by going on the left wing anti Israel lecture circuit, they will always pay big money if the speaker is there to condem Israel especialy if they are going to praise the arabs at the same time. Olmert really is the arab leader they have been praying for all their lives, if anybody can destroy Israel Olmert can do it and for a price he will.

The problem is not are Israeli arabs dicriminated against or not because they are and maybe they should get treated a little better than they do but thats not the point. Right now the problem is do we need another pro arab speech every other day. Its either abandon Jerusalem & the rest of the territories, kick the Yeshe out their homes or he is making speeches why we must treat Israeli arabs better .... alone these are issues that can be debated but all at once its overkill and can be damaging for the country. He isnt even leader of his own party anymore & he is only a caretaker PM but still he talks and acts like the country is his own private property and he is the king and we are his subjects.

I'll put money on a bet that Robert Bernier doesn't know a single solitary Israeli Arab and has never worked with one. Not only that, but I'll bet he doesn't know more than 10 words of Arabic that he's gotten from the news. All the Arabs I know personally happen to be gainfully employed and they pay taxes. My advice to Bernier is to get his head out of the dark place it's in, and actually learn something about the Arab citizens of this country.

He made a speech and happened to talk about something very relevant. His speech was not pro-Arab, it was pro-Israel - because if we remain a bunch of racist bigots then our democracy isn't worth crap. Olmert happens to be a very bright guy . He also happens to be a slimy politician. He also happens to be prime minister for 3 more months whether anybody likes it or not. Why? Because that's the law. The answer is a question back at you: Why did it take America almost 200 years before they passed an affirmative action bill? The answer is that the government of the USA was dominated by racists for almost 200 years. Obama may be president now, but when I was born there were a lot of states where blacks couldn't drink from the same water fountain as whites - it was the law. So here in Israel where there is no civil rights movement (there should be) it's taking longer to get the message across to the racist members of Knesset that they should strengthen Israel's democracy with affirmative action.
