1. The Iranians are giving the orders ...
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.14.08)
Any connexion to Israeli elections is a very minor consideration. And there is positively NO connexion to de-railing the peace process because there is no peace process. No matter what Livni, Olmert, Barak & others say in their political interest, no matter how much they are willing to give away for nothing, no matter how much they try to cover-up their failures, the peace process is going nowhere - and never, ever, had the slightest chance of success. Our differences with the Palestinians are irreconcilable. Hamas knows this very well & it is the last thing they care about. Iran is calling the shots (literally) for it's own foreign policy goals, primarily to heat things up for the new Obama administration.
2. WORD - UN - OBAMA - Leftists --DID YOU READ THIS ?
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (11.14.08)
Consesions, peace, treaties with these people ARE NON EXISTENT They can't digest normal living - so please BUTTS OUT of M.E. I admire one thing of Hamas: they say what they think, with no colors. Our left should learn a lesson or two from them - after all they harbor the same anitizionist-antisemitic feelings
3. Wrong philosophy
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (11.14.08)
What Hamas does not realize is that the more they heat things up then the more likely it will be a hawkish government which will take firmer action against Gaza. Bibi has said he will continue negotiations, so pushing this path will hurt them in the short and long run.
4. More proof that they're a death cult
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (11.14.08)
And we should accomodate them fully. Vote for the right, let's get it on, get it over with, and then we'll have peace. A vote for the left means the conflict dragging on forever with no peace.
5. Hamas wants Right Govt
DT ,   TA Isr   (11.14.08)
Can't think why they want that as with this Government they could just walk in and take what isn't theirs. Clearly they want Israel to re-elect a Right wing government knowing that they will be no walk over and this is Hamas's way of saying there will be war if Israel gets rid of this "do nothing lot "on Feb 10th and are intimidating the Israeli population
6. You do not talk to terrorists, you fight and defeat them.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (11.14.08)
Since Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005 Iranian-backed Hamas, which is pledged to wipe out Israel and every Jew, has built a well-trained standing army of at least 20,000 men and a huge arsenal of weapons smuggled in from Egypt, and relentlessly attacks Israel with rockets and bombs. Israel should finally mount a major incursion into Gaza to deal with Hamas. If it does, Western opinion, which largely ignores Israeli maximizetion, can be guaranteed to cry ‘atrocity’ once again. And just as before, Hamas will deliberately place women and children in the line of fire to maximize civilian casualties in order further to inflame that opinion. That is their way of “fighting” as explained at : http://xrl.us/bi9r6
7. Take Note of This
Leah ,   Israel   (11.14.08)
THEY DONT WANT PEACE.
8. who wrote this article?
(11.14.08)
Zipi Livni?
9. sorry but none of you get the picture !!!
avi   (11.14.08)
Hamas with Iran support don't fight us but like Abbas our corrupted leaders on the payroll of America's conquerors, mean the Banksters, the Vatican, the Masons, & al. It's a long way to get that.
10. Insulting!!!
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (11.14.08)
I consider this article low propaganda and an insult to the intelligence of us Israelis! Please! If we start with this now, January will be calling for secession war!
11. ali want a leftist government i wonder why
cordier   (11.14.08)
12. THIS SCUM CANT EVEN LIVE WITH EACH OTHER. HAMMER HAMAS!
(11.14.08)
13. If this isn't a wake-up for the radical left, what is?
5th generation ,   Israel   (11.14.08)
Do you get it yet? Pal goals are not, never were, nor ever will be anything better than the destruction of Israel, and no amount of bending backwards (or forwards with cheeks spread) will change that.
14. Ali Waked never gives us his sources!
Zion   (11.14.08)
Name your sources Name your sources
15. This article make's no sense
Shua ,   NY   (11.14.08)
If this article is right. Then what stops Hamas from escalating the situation, right now,and thus getting what they allegedly want! If anything, they want a leftist government, so they can get ceasefires every once and a while, to restock!!!
16. End of ceasefire has a price
Naftali Lavie   (11.14.08)
Breaches of ceasefire cause Palestinian militants to fire their Kassam rockets that harm no one. When the IDF breaches the ceasefire, it kills many Palestinian non-combatants, including children, in addition to militants. Palestinians are interested in ceasefire to keep their people from harm. Israelis are interested in ceasefire if they want to see Gilad Shalit return alive in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The Israeli militarists are OK with ongoing Kassam fire, and ongoing killing of Palestinian non-combatants, and the ongoing Shalit affair remaining unresolved. Shame on them!
17. Hamas wants
Otto ,   US   (11.14.08)
This bit is psycho war. Hamas wants the gates opened for more deliveries. Hamas can start war now if it is serious. Further it is an atempt to help Livni. Israel can smash Hamas and vanquish gaza -and should, if it pays no attention to UN EU US etc opinion.
18. Let them shoot themselves in the foot
Steve   (11.15.08)
For once, lets do what Hamas wants and elect a right-wing government. Hamas will realise that trying to get the Likud elected was a mistake on their part when for the first time in a long time, their leaders are assassinated as payback for terror attacks.
