Livni has been directed by her handler to use the politics of division in order to lure Russians away from the Likud. As to be predicted, a party with no positive solutions and a leader with no achievements only has a negative message. Problem is that Shas can play this game quite well and even if Kadima doesn't flop in the next elections it will pay a heavy price if it wants (and it needs) Shas' support to form a government.

This storm of mutual condemnation is election PR, to cover their failings and attract gullible voters. After the elections Kasima and Shas will happily sit together to divide the spoils.

When I was in Israel in the early nineteen eighties, I met and socialized with some wonderful Sephardic Jews. I met Sephardic Jews serving in the army, fighting for our land. I care not whether a Jew is Ashkenazi, Sephardic or other. If you are a proud Jew that supports the integrity of the land of Jewish Israel -- every square inch of it -- you will be welcome in my government any day. Shas would not be welcome in any government. Shas has sold out the Jews in Israel. Shas deserves every bit of the opprobrium they receive.

I dated an ashkenazi (Russian), girl here in the states for many years but did not marry her (an other story), often she would go on and on about her sister marrying a man of sirian descent, sady she had some of this latent racism. The indiginous jews who live in israel are analogous to american indians, they are not in control of the nation of thier birth.
