3. We wield both the carrot and the stick. Don't forget this!
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (12.02.08)
4. Mikki
Shoshy   (12.02.08)
Mikki you are quite right what ever you said in the article I applaud you. You are a very brave lady and we need people like you to stand up and say as it is....
5. Pressure on the citizens will only make it worse
Abed Qutob ,   Jerusalem   (12.02.08)
I completely disagree with this approach. You want the people to stop believing or following Hamas by actually doing more harm to them from the israeli side. I say that will give the excuse for hamas to do what ever things they do. Besides, nothing justifies the oppression and the killing of civilians, in particular the kids. You have got to seek the rightous mean if you want the right ending.
6. There is only one lever
Ben Plonie ,   Galus, Chutz L'Aretz   (12.02.08)
Hamas does not care about suffering and can get money elsewhere. hamas cares about land and power. Every rocket must be met with the loss of ten kilometers of Gaza land, permanently. This should have been done with the first rocket attack. And the same for Southern Lebanon, lands of Israelite tribes of Asher and Naphtali.
7. The only way to press them.
Or ,   NY   (12.02.08)
Sadly, we missed the chance. We lost our b***s's of steel by electing leaders who rather please the rest of the world (who cares less for us) rather than do what is best for Israel.
8. #1 Blah,ha,ha,ha,& I can see how you gazans solve ALL of
yours&live in GREAT ,   wealth&prosperity!!!   (12.02.08)
9. #1, Jalal, Hamas charter calling for killing Jews is problem
David ,   Boston, USA   (12.02.08)
The Hamas charter and the incitement to attack Jews and Christians, thats the problem. Gazans were given $20 million worth of hot houses by Jews. You dont want to building yourself and economy and vote in murderous leaders fine, then live with the consequences. You want to live in peace and prosperity, then start ACTING in peace. From day 1 when Israel removed ALL Jews from Gaza the Kassams rained down on Israel, a war crime. Where was the Gazan action for peace? Where was the gazan action for the future? You get what you deserve. Good news. Israel is eternal. Hamas isnt. Only when you act in peace it will be accomplished. Until then, live with your decisions.
10. Please...
Hertzel ,   Tiberias   (12.02.08)
Why did you push for capitulation when it came to the Hizzies holding your son, but a strong hand when it comes to enemies no less ruthless like chamas? I don't get it.
11. Bring Gilad Shalit HOME!!!!!
Ofira Roll ,   Pittsburgh / Israel   (12.03.08)
12. Respectfull disagreement
Gideon Reader   (12.03.08)
No mon cher, Hamas must be eliminated. From the top down. Not from the bottom up.
