1. sowing and reaping
Marcel ,   Florida   (12.04.08)
Those Jews who were happy to see fellow Jews in Hebron lose their home to the corrupt state will lose their homes and worse. What goess around comes around How sad that you treat the Islamic destroyers with vmore kindenss. This is evil and will be reapid by Hashem to you. Israel's combined defeatist leadership are so weak and fearful that they will fortify houses in Sderot instead of defeating hamas and ending the threat. They only have bravery and courage to go after fellow Jews in Hevron and to release more Islamic terrorists with blood on their hands Why is Israel in such a mess with such treacherous, evil leaders bent on bringing about a second holocaust ? How could the most ignorant and dangerous ,the most perverse of Israeli society rise like cream to the top ? 'Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.' Isaiah 1:4 When the people forsake God they embrace insanity and Israel has become insanely mad.
2. rule of law
alexi   (12.04.08)
Olmert says that the rule of law must prevail in self-righteous indignation. Yeh, ehdu should take his own advice. Mazuz will indict him, he resigned from kadima chairmanshipt, livni and kadima asked him to resign and eh disregards the law. Who is he to talk, the moronic coward that he is supported by fellow appeasers marcus and verter who know nothing about life.Olmert is lucky that israel is a country of laws for the populace would tear him apart.
3. What a hypocrite .....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.04.08)
So, Mr Yishai, how long did you sit in Olmert's crap coalition? How much money did you extort for your narrow interests? How many political prizes did you blackmail Olmert into giving you? And now you make speeches because elections are approaching & many of your constituants are disgusted with events in Hevron. Even by the incredibly low standards of Israeli politicians, you stand out as one of the biggest hypocrites. What really bothers me about this whole eviction story is the lack of concern for justice, legality, & some measure of objective truth. Instead, people just take sides. Oh, I don't like the settlers so let's evict them. Oh, I support the settlers, don't evict them. Even the court has an agenda beyond merely weighing evidence & delivering a fair & impartial judgement. And our media has already convicted the settlers & dismissed their claims, cooperating in a smear campaign of distortions & propaganda. Is this the kind of country we want? Is justice to be determined by our likes & dislikes, by a political agenda, by political self-interest? I am truely nauseated.
4. Evacuation
jerry ,   New York, USA   (12.04.08)
No one on the left even offers a justification of the court order to evict whole families. There has been no response to the rational argument that ownership could have been determined before throwing people out onto the street with their children. This is a black mark against a future government that would have liked to hide behind their human rights record. Gaza, Amona, and Hebron Market, and now Peace House. Have these people no shame - not much. Moreover, they are ruining purposely the altruistic caring that exists between Jews that do not threaten one another. They are dividing to conquer and blaming the victim. Jews evicted to the street are victims of their own government. How awful!
5. Barak's only achievement in this government
Rich ,   New York   (12.04.08)
Now he can go to Arab and say "vote for Labor, you see what I did for you!". Will he get 7 seats in place of 6? I don't know. Will Meretz give him one seat more? I don't know. But he will get some money for another house for himself. That's I know.
6. Because. Just because.
Gideon Reader   (12.04.08)
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Try to fool me a third time; you must be running for PM in Israel. Credibility is a rare and precious commodity. ts erodes, or better yet sours, becomes inedible like a glass of cream sitting in the sun. Barak has shown he cannot be trusted ever again. Why would anyone vote for his to run anything? A person who casts his honor away like an old pair of soiled drawers is not fit for the highest office of governance of Israel. Barak's reason for running for PM appears to be "just because" rather than to do his best for his peeople. What a crying shame.
7. Barack
Ely ,   Pardes Chana   (12.04.08)
you are a rotten person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on ME (YESHA
Jae ,   Lynn US   (12.04.08)
It is like we have the council of Chelm to protect us. Thanks YESHA, way to represent. You guys supposedly representing Yesha seem more like cronies of big government, and not represetning the ideals of the people who put you in power to represent and dfened them:Jewish people in Judea.
9. Barak Deceived us
Oskar Prager ,   Petach Tikva   (12.04.08)
Bravo - General Barak ! Wonderful to see you break the heads of our youngsters whether deserved or not. For this you will surely get another medal to add to the many others you have. Fighting against your own Jewish Israeli people you are the tops, but to fight against arabs in the Gaza Strip you cannot and will not do, because you are frightened like a chicken. It's after all much easier to fight the prime of Israeli youth rather than those who fire constant rockets against Israelis. But don't worry General Barak - you will get your reward but you have to wait until you reach Gehinnom just like your mentor Ariel Sharon, who disposessed the people of Gush Katif . To this day these dispossed people are languishing in make- shift shelters and you as leader of the Labour have done nothing to help their plight. So don't ask us, General, to vote for you or your party at the forthcoming election.
10. Well done Mr Barka you get my vote
Avi ,   Ramat Gan   (12.04.08)
As if anything Eli Yishai has to say is of no importance. Lets face it he is Ovadia Yosefs mouth piece, and with 7 of his fellow MKs from Shas having been convicted for theft and corruption. So perhaps he should be more concerned as minister of trade and industry in bringing this country back to its feet. Incase he hasnt noticed people are getting made redundant in alarming numbers, so that will mean less secular tax money to pay for the Shas Cult.
11. Elie Yishai Minister of Industry, Trade & labor, NO WONDER
Shlomo   (12.04.08)
THAT EVERYTHING IS CRUMBLING.
12. I'm a supporter of the IDF and even I am disgusted
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (12.04.08)
I'm an active supporter of Friends of the IDF, and just returned from several weeks as a volunteer on an IDF base. But I am disgusted by what is being done to the People's Army. I am sick of "Defense" Minister Barak, who can only bluster when it comes to the threat from Israel's enemies, but who has allowed - even encouraged - the IDF to be used for political purposes. Despite claims he was only "enforcing the law", the decision to evict was wholly political; the High Court merely allowed the government to act on its decision to evict even though the courts have not ruled on the ownership question. A few days ago, senior Druse soldiers beseeched the IDF *not* to ask them to participate in an eviction operation because they knew how damaging it would be to the national fabric. The IDF should have heeded their warning. But Barak has "higher interests" in mind.
13. #5 don't worry
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (12.04.08)
Don't worry that Arabs will vote for Barak. Zionistic Arabs will not vote for Barak because of his betrayal of Madhat Yussuf and the SLA Anti Israel Arabs will not vote for Barak because of the 13 youths he killed in the Iron Valley riots in 2000.
14. The left are finished now
Leah ,   Israel   (12.04.08)
Especially after their fiasco with the Second Lebanon war, the Gaza disengagement failure, the continuing rockets down south, the way they beat up Jewish youth. The evil left who side with the enemy ARE finished.
15. No more Gush Katif, settlers are warriors not lambs.

17. #11 Your a doofus & Bibi is a nut - "iron fist" Scum
Sasson ,   Har Nof, Israel   (12.04.08)
Calling for a need of an "iron fist" but calls for economic help to the PLO. What a douche
18. #14 Lead in denial
Avi ,   Ramat Gan   (12.04.08)
Get over it Leah, it was a victory for democracy. law and order was restored. These settler thugs are only their to cause trouble and provoke the local Palestinian population whos land they stole in the first place. Soon all of occupied Palestine will be cleared of this vermin!
19. #18Avi: Your Home is Next
Zeev   (12.04.08)
You said: "local Palestinian population whose land they stole in the first place." Well, according to that logic, ALL of Israel, including your home in Ramat Gan, is stolen land. By holding on to lawfully bought Jewish property in Hevron, those guys are defending your home too.
20. Hebron House Evacuation
jack ,   N.Y. N.Y.   (12.04.08)
I read that Mr. Olmert promised "an immediate and harsh response" to any harm to palestinians. Is this the same immediate and harsh response to the rockets from Gaza?
21. # 16 I Beg Your Pardon
Lawrence Tendler ,   Safed Israel   (12.04.08)
My pet worm took offense at your comparison...

24. Barak you too are a settler
R H ,   PT Israel   (12.04.08)
Barak you too are a settler living in Kochav Yair so give your house back as obviously after any land bought from Arabs can be automatically given back to them according to our "impartial" law courts. While we're at it you may as well reurn Ramat Aviv Hod Hasharon Hertzlia & any place else
25. # 17 shas'son you feel better now?

27. The IDF should protect Israelis not "Palestinians"
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (12.05.08)
Our “partner in peace.” Mahmoud Abbas - Israel's partner in peace talks and the head of Fatah and the Palestinian Authority - enjoys a reputation as a "moderate," largely in light of his juxtaposition with the arch-terrorists of his rivals/allies in Hamas. However, he now says that terrorism and violence against Israel are actually the preferred approach, and certainly need not be ruled out in the future. Abbas told the Jordanian newspaper A-Doustour, "I am against an armed struggle against Israel because we can't do it, but in the coming stages, things may change. I do not rule out a return to the way of armed struggle against Israel," Abbas said. Lets face reality : Their goal is Israel’s destruction and that is why nothing has worked and nothing will work as to the roots of “Palestinian” nationalism it is explained at : http://xrl.us/bmdnh
