1. I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH MRS. SAMUEL
meir elazar   (12.05.08)
Did Mrs. Samuel have an assault weapon and training to use it? With hundreds of bullets flying could Mrs. Samuel pick up Moshe along with both unconscious parents are run for cover? In short, there was absolutely nothing else that she could have done except saving the baby. And that is exactly what she did. No I am very sorry, Mrs. Samuel but YOU ARE A HERO and the parents would have no legacy had you not saved their only child.
2. G-d be with you Sandra

3. Heaven sent Nanny
Millicent ,   Israel   (12.05.08)
Sandra Samuel is an angel sent from heaven to save Moshe fromcertain death. Don't ever doubt yourself about not saving the parents...perhaps you were not meant to save anyone but thischild, who thanks to you will grow to bea wonderful adult and take his parents place in Chabad. May Gd bless you and your family with long healthy Happy lives!
4. She is a big-time heroine
Fary   (12.05.08)
no question, she should be granted honourary Israeli citizenship if she wants it.
5. Perfect !
vincent ,   Switzerland   (12.05.08)
What she did was just perfect! Thank you!
6. She remins me of other righteous gentiles
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (12.05.08)
When the majority do nothing and look the other way when Jews are murdered there is a small minority that risk there lives. Just like Irene Sendler in Poland they do not consider themselves heroes and wish they could have done more. People like Samuel give me hope. It might not be a bad idea to have a parade with Mrs.Samuel as the star so that the world can see that a true hero is not an astronaut or a movie star but one who risks their own life to save a child.
7. The one bright spot in this tragic story
reality check ,   tel aviv, Israel   (12.05.08)
Mrs. Samuel, thank you for what you've done. You have put a ray of warm sunshine into this cold, dark nightmare. All of the people of Israel love you and are eternally grateful to you.
8. Yes Sandra ...love from all of Israel
David ,   Shilo ISRAEL   (12.05.08)
9. Rabbi Yehoshua said that no man (or woman) has any greater
(12.05.08)
love than to lay down his (her) life for a friend. That is why people on battlefield die: for their friends. That is the greatest love and Sandra Samuel was blessed with that greatest of gifts when she saved Moshe in the midst of gunfire. Long ago there was another Moshe who was saved by a brave daughter of a Pharoah who was not afraid of her father's commandment for the Hebrew male babies to die. Moses' mother was not afraid of the king's commandment, either.
10. Sandra: The parents were dying even though conscious. If

the Indian soldiers would not go in to get them out at that time, you could not have done anymore than you did which was more than the soldiers were willing to do for Jews.
11. HOW CAN THE INDIANS THINK THAT THEY DID A GOOD TERRORIST

david ,   belgium   (12.05.08)
its very clear this lady is very very traumatised and is going through the first post traumatic stress phase. its very important to acknowledge this instead of screaming about any governement failure here. 18. Sandra, you are a beautiful woman.
Vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (12.05.08)
You should have no doubts that you did a brave and corageous thing in saving Moshe's life. To save one life leads to saving thousands. He can be in no better hands than that of his grandparents and you. You deverve and get the thanks for the whole nation of Israel and the dispora Jews. May Elohim guide you and bless you for ever. Thank you.
19. Hi Moshe
Harsh ,   India   (12.05.08)
Hi, You are probably right. None of us is patting our backs at the end of this massacre. But what is important that it has brought all sane people together to pledge a stop to terrorism. I believe that we need to learn from Israel. The common man of India is ready and willing today. God bless you.

24. I Will Let You All In On A Secret...

Chabad are always driving me ,and everybody else, nuts with Moshiach this and Moshiach that all the time, they are obsessed BUT.....Take a look at little Moish, hint hint....and Guard him with your lives.
25. "Survivors' Guilt"
Zvi   (12.05.08)
Oh my goodness! Nobody could expect this wonderful woman to rescue 2 unconscious adults and a crying baby singlehandedly. There were an unknown number of heavily armed terrorists somewhere nearby. She was risking herself to rescue the crying baby. Under incredible pressure and in incredible fear, she made a "snap decision" to get the baby out. Had she stayed to help the parents, the baby's crying might have drawn the terrorists back and there might have simply been 2 more victims. That didn't happen. We can't know. Ms. Samuel seems to be suffering from "surivivor's guilt", familiar to people who survived the Shoah and other horrible atrocities. She needs all the support and love possible.
26. Just how much of a hero was she?
meir elazar   (12.05.08)
One must understand that she grabbed the 2 year old child who was probably in shock, covered with blood, and may have seen his parents dead or dying. She took him and hid in a closet. I don't know how many terrorists were in the Nariman House or exactly for how long. But it is clear that they were there for hours until the Indian commandos arrived some 7 hours or so after the terrorist incident began. I know of no others who managed to hide and survive in the Nariman house. There is nothing more natural for a baby to do than cry and had Moshe done so and given away their hiding place both of them could have easily been killed. Also the terrorist probably had ample time to do multiple search passes looking for people hiding in the Nariman House. Therefore one must understand that hiding Moshe really increased the risk of them both dying immensely. A few hours into the incident she found the window of time to escape and save both of themselves. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTION THAT MRS. SAMUEL IS A GREAT HERO OF THIS TRAGIC EVENT.
27. sandra
elliot ,   usa   (12.05.08)
are you sure you are not jewish?...you have saved the world by saving one life but still feel guilty....if you could have done more how about the rest of us doing more!
28. Sandra!; S is not $

29. Sandra
mordechai ,   Brooklyn NY   (12.05.08)
THe Talmud asks "why was Adan created alone?, to teach us that whoever saves a life, it is concidered as he saved an entire world". You Sandra, saved an entire world, and you should be recognised so, and join Oscar Schinler and the Japanese Consul in Vilna who enabeld thousands of Jews to be saved from the Holocaust. We are foreever gratefull to you, and may you ony have good things for the rest of your life.
30. Hard to Believe
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (12.05.08)
Maybe as a New Yorker I just don't believe anything anymore but the story is a tough one to believe. It is difficult to imagine that the terrorists did not know of the presence of Samuel and the other worker for so long. It is hard to believe that they were distracted to everything that was going on in the first floor. It is difficult to imagine that they allowed anyone walk in or walk out the front door as they pleased. It is easier to believe that the terrorists told her and the other worker to take the baby and get out. .
