joo ,   eurabia   (12.08.08)
All lies! The Israeli kids and parents are tolerant, relaxed, modest, gentle, polite and...and...good car drivers!!!
6. Israeli kids are irritable
Millicent ,   Israel   (12.08.08)
So are their parents and even grandparents. It is due to the daily stresses of living in a country where you don't know if you will be a victim of a terror attack on the bus on the way to school, home, or if your parents will be. Youth here have to deal with that every day, as well as over crowded classrooms, teachers that can't teach and bullys. I am sure that if our kids had lives that allowed them to act like kids and not worry about their survival they wouldn't be so irritable. You wonder why so many of the young people here move abroad the first chance they get....too much stress here in our daily lives,I have the gray hairs to prove it, and I am only 30!
7. What a load of BULL!!!

10. Send them to the spa once in a while ;)

11. The reason for being irritable...
oldsolly ,   New York, USA   (12.08.08)
...probably comes from being under the threat of terrorist attacks and being surrounded by (mostly) non-peaceful neighbors. Anyone ever live in a tough neighborhood? Who wouldn't be irritable? Time to fight back!
12. Israeli Children
Elane Conway ,   Kent, UK   (12.08.08)
Sir, I brought my children up in Israel until ages 6 and 8 when we moved to the UK, my daughter returned to Israel 3 years ago, of her own choice aged 13. My opinion on the research figures is that Israeli parents are more alert to illness and more prone to worry (neurotic?) about family health issues than in other countries. This is clearly passed down to our children who experience a sharpened awarness of every little ache and pain. But what do I know anyway? Warmest, Elane Conway
13. No surprise
Ariel ,   Jerusalem   (12.08.08)
This is due to the new generation of parents who removed the word "no" from their lexicon. Israeli children are loud, inconsiderate and demanding. This is a trend seen in other affluent countries, but not like here. Parents should TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
14. Brian NYC - they should be more like NYC kids calm & polite
Mike ,   Israel   (12.08.08)
15. lack of Jewish pride effect

16. Irritability
jerry ,   New York, USA   (12.08.08)
Irritability contains a strong genetic component. If the sample contained a sizable plurality of Jews from Eastern European backgrounds, then it correctly reflected the genetic heritage of this group: high energy, irritable, hyperalert, both for external and internal states. Thus, they complain more, are more pessimistic, are more neurotic, and are more likely to prize calm, rational and cooperative environments to help allay their internal turmoil. Again, they are more likely to take the attitude of "go along to get along" except of course if their values are attacked. That's what makes them irritable to begin with.
17. Bombs and attacks might be the reason.
PETRA ,   USA   (12.08.08)
They have no faith in a government that refuses to protect them, while releasing prisoners w/ blood on their hands. I'm pretty sure EVERY kid would be 'irritable, if they lived as these kids. ISRAEL, PROTECT YOUR POPULACE, WOMEN AND KIDS COUNT!!!!!!!!
18. Give them fish oil in juice or capsules.

19. WHO is part of the UN ...
instigator ,   Netherlands   (12.08.08)
The World Health Organization is part of the United Nations. What kind of organization is that? An antisemitic one in all senses. No wonder that Israel ranks first and after very small Malta the US is third of course. How predictable ... It has nothing to do with research but with biased interpretation of results. Antisemitic minds produce antisemitic 'results.'
20. terrorism is being used as a blanket excuse 4 poor parenting
(12.08.08)
21. Manners
Isac ,   Florida   (12.08.08)
If the adults behave so badly, arrogant and agressive, what would you expect from their children. Israel: in regards to your children, you are getting what you deserve. No discipline, no manners, no ethics, no respect.
22. Stop blaming it on Anti-Semitism
Noami ,   Tel Aviv   (12.09.08)
I am irritable on a daily basis by the things that go on here. Isac from Florida (#21) is absolutely right - the behavior of people in this country sucks. Blaming it on anti-semitism means taking zero responsibility for our own behavior.
