31. Do you think Feiglin will be the only one?
Etoile ,   Montreal, Canada   (12.11.08)
To readers, do you really think Feiglin will be the only one demoted? Netanyahu was recorded as being unhappy with the entire list, more demotions are on the way! Until his lackeys that pitifully made it to last place are brought back up. Well that is Israeli democracy for you, a sick joke. Feiglin is one of he only good things left in the Likud. Netanyahu is just another thug who will jump ship to Kadima once he has the chance. BTW, if things are going the way they are with no public outcry, I have only one last thing to say. Farewell Israel, it was nice knowing you!
32. Good boy Bibi, good boy...
Ehud Olmert ,   Jerusalem, Palestine   (12.11.08)
Now role over and beg for a treat!
33. Likud perverts democracy
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (12.11.08)
They did this in the 1980s to another nationalistic candidate that was gaining strength and they are doing it again. It shows the fear they have of the truth. I have no trust in Israeli democracy, which is why I will vote Shas, the only party that actually does what it states it will do.
34. i will NOT vote likud now. would love to slap bibi around...
(12.11.08)
35. The people are with Mr. Feiglin!
LEE ,   NY, USA   (12.11.08)
I've read every talkback on every one of these articles that relates to Feiglin and its obvious why Bibi is so frantic and is digging his own grave. The people are overwhelmingly with Feiglin and Bibi knows this well. Mr. Moshe Feiglin- you are destined to lead the Likud. Bibi can spaz out all he wants, but your voice is now heard, your name is now known, your ideas are overwhelmingly supported and there will be no stopping you now. RAK CHAZAK V'EMATZ!
36. Can anyone explain why the elections
Norman   (12.11.08)
When you don't honor the elections ? What a waste of money.
37. Netanyahu displays this corrupt power because...
Steve ,   US   (12.11.08)
...the Jews in Israel give him this power. There is no other reason for these corrupt leaders in leadership positions in Israel. Israel's Jews apparently like their corrupt leaders. Many do with few exceptions; some we read on these news sites. Yet they are in the vast minority. Jews in Israel can demand political reform all they want. I am convinced this political corruption is what Israel's Jews desire. Same holds true for the U.S. We get the government we deserve. All else is delusion.
38. Sad and tacky bad smelling maneuver
Gideon Reader   (12.11.08)
A terrible and poorly thought out error on Likud's(Bibi's) part. This magnetic individual (Feiglin) represents a sector of the national camp that should and needs to be represented in Knesset. He will gain political strength for his position from this clearly Kadima like tactic and it will bring no help or nachas to Likud's run for control of the governance of Israel, nor to Bibi personally. A bad move.
39. Political Spoiler
Rube Vogelanter ,   Jerusalem   (12.11.08)
Feiglin's only contribution to politics has been to weaken the Likud. He is directly responsible for the rise of Kadima and the loss of Gush katif. He is either an idiot or a Leftist in wolves clothes.
40. Likud Loses Another Vote
Shmuel ,   Golan   (12.11.08)
Well, if there was any chance I'd vote for Likud, it was with Feiglin in the 20th spot. Remember when Olmert lost around 15 projected seats in the last election? Bibi can't afford that.
41. BIBI WANTS HIS COCKTAIL IN THE WHITE HOUSE
(12.11.08)
42. LIKUD IS DEAD AND BIBI KILLED IT
(12.11.08)
43. Work the system!
CDG ,   Yerushalayim   (12.11.08)
This may sound crazy, but hear me out... This is only for people who seriously want to try to save Israel, short of installing a Torah government (which won't happen unless the Mashiach shows up or the nascent Sanhedrin gets recognized instead of our current setup). Let there be a mad rush to vote for the Likud, even from people in other parties, Left and Right! Taking this to the most ridiculous extreme, let's imagine a scenario where, against all odds, the Likud gets all 120 mandates. Let us see then how far Netanyahu will go to try to push Feiglin back - whether he hates Feiglin so much that he can even do such a thing and ignore the embarrassment it would bring from around the world - if he has any conscience left. (And that's not counting on results from Feiglin's appeal to the courts - which he should make as public as he possibly can. Westerners, especially Americans, should be able to have a "front row" seat for this in the media.) If I understand the system correctly, the more mandates Likud gains, the more candidates will be in the Knesset. Don't try to join the Likud now; you won't be able to vote in the upcoming elections nor for 16 months after you join. If you're in a party, and are eligible, I suggest that you vote from where you are. After the election, join the Likud and give real meaning to its name in English: Solidarity. For the sake of Zion I will not be silent...For Jerusalem I will not keep quiet... (Let's see whether Ynet has the courage to post this.)
44. A vote for Kadima is better than a vote for Likud
usa   (12.11.08)
45. Do we have a choice????????
Jewish Refugee ,   U.S.A.   (12.11.08)
Please be realistic there are no more parties like Likud that can pull the election off. I am not saying that LIkud is the best choice far from it, but what I am saying that it is better than Kadima, Labor and the rest of them. Leibermans party could become a strong party but it cannot win the elections. So now we have a choice Likud with all its faults but with great team that includes Benny Begin and other Pro-Zionists. Or Labor and Kadima that work for our enemies. What is that going to be?
46. G-d and the left are smiling today
avramele   (12.11.08)
47. Moshe Feiglin will make it
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (12.11.08)
Maybe not this time - but he will. He's young. The people will clamor for him as they wake up to the realization of a corrupt government that gives millions of dollars to our enemy!! Moshe - open a page on Facebook!!
48. Bibi is looking more and more like Shimon Peres every day
Leah ,   Jerusalem   (12.11.08)
49. Likud just lost my and my wifes votes.
AKA ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.11.08)
50. And if Feiglin & friends end up kicked out or worse...
CDG ,   Yerushalayim   (12.11.08)
Then everyone should vote for other right wing parties. The leftist (disguised as "centrist") version of Likud sinks down so far that it disappears. The Left falls under its own weight. And Israel gets to decide her own destiny without "friends" who seek only bad for her. (Or, maybe they turn into real friends! Self-respect does wonders for relationships, whether among people or nations.) Are we ready?
51. Better yet...
CDG ,   Yerushalayim   (12.11.08)
...If Moshe Feiglin decided to create his own party, everyone would flock to it. But how long would it take to be eligible to vote? We don't want to keep the present government in place for another minute!!!
52. all of u doesn't see more than your nose
Steven ,   JUDEA   (12.11.08)
Feiglin = war with 22 arabs country even without usa backup Feiglin = more lonely in the world
53. Weired.
Gideon Reader   (12.11.08)
Prisoner #12 Terry, Ooooh,Spooky! We are NOT related are we? Last person I agreed with that much I maried. Still am. That is scary. Ccut it out and disagree with me on something. Anything.. I even like Eilat. Although too much shrimp served in the local bistros.
54. Feiglin is showing more class, respect for voters than Bibi
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (12.11.08)
I'm not what one would call a Feiglin supporter, but this move by Bibi is what we call "bad form". It simply doesn't pass the "smell test". Power tends to corrupt, said Lord Acton, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This incident does confirm what many of us have argued, that Israel's system of party lists is at the root of its political problems. Manipulation of the list, which should have followed voter choice, confirms that office holders are ultimately responsible to the Party, not the electorate. As to whether Feiglin is "too right wing", I'm reminded of a story told by my psychology professor long ago. Getting to know a colleague, he finally asked him about his politics. "Oh, I'm an anarchist," said the colleague. Pushing him on the issue, my prof finally pressed his colleague, "You don't really believe this stuff, do you?" The colleague answered, "Not really, but someone has to take this position." So too with Feiglin.
55. to Bibis shame
Yisraeli   (12.11.08)
I have always said Bibi cannot be trusted. He is the same as Olmerde, Livni and even Barak. Hes just a fancy talker. He probably gets his orders from the CFR to. But nevertheless its not Bibi that counts, hes only in his chair until hes removed. And today he has secured his eventual demise as party leader. So what to do now. One can spit in ones own face and withraw all support of Likud. Meaning less mandates, weakening the party and forcing it to join with Kadimah for next government which no one wants. Or continue as planned. Give strength to Likud inspite of its leaders disgusting behaviour. If it gets 40+ mandates those spots wont matter as the list will appear as before and all are in. Now from within one can topple the leader if he goes against Israels interests. Remember theres always primaries for leadership of a party. If voters will remember Bibis behaviour they will vote to topple him to political oblivion and replace him with another leader. Remember the most important principle Bibi is not the party Likud! he is just the chairman and thats never permanent. If Likud has returned to itself then inevitably with a leader who is against Likuds policies wont last. People its the parties strength that counts not the one person leading it, he will be dealt with all in due course, so dont kill the party. #43 In the main elections anyone can vote Likud or for whomever they choose, its only voting in internal primaries that one has to be a member of at least 16 months, this clause was added to prevent what happened last time with Omri Sharon who went out and bought votes by undersigning them as members who were eligible to vote without a waiting period. Look in the end its all dirty and plenty unfair, does that mean we go home crying after the bully in the schoolyard beats us up? No we plan ahead and work from within the system and eventually put that bully into his place all in due time. People dont give up! The future of Israel is at stake, not our own personal vanities.
56. Dump bibi now!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (12.11.08)
He has shown what a dictator he will be. He is bad for Israel. He screwed his own party, then he will screw us. He has been in politics too long. We need fresh blood in politics here. We also need a law that forbids children and grandchildren of politicians to enter politics themselves. But remember this bibi=olmert and olmert= bibi. Just like olmert was dangerous for Israel, the same goes for bibi!
57. Sorry, Bibi
a Jew ,   Petach-Tikva   (12.11.08)
but you lost my vote among thousands other votes. I hesitated until now if to vote for Likud. Now, I don;t. I,m voting Lieberman and the pride of the Jewish nation
58. The Death of Democracy
Michael ,   Yerushalayim   (12.11.08)
Thank you Bibi, for proving yet again to the Israeli public and the whole world that Israel is not a democracy. It's just another fascist 3rd world society living under the self-made illusion that it is a democracy. You disgust me, you fascist little pig....
59. D.C.America's armpit.(or worse)
Gideon Reader   (12.11.08)
Prisone r#54 in armpit D.C. Raymond, Ab-so-looooot-lee correct Senor. Class is a maor part of being in charge. Begin had it. Netanyahu does not. It is not enough to speak Alglit fluently. One has to show a bit of Zalman Shoval elegance if one wants to play on the wprld stage. The right amount of cuff showing, the correct type and color shoes, and the fit of a suit is only part of the grand game. Class in dealing with those who you can boss around and choose not to, is the issue. Deal fairly and look for that upon which you agree, and co-opt , rather than stagmatize and isolate those who challenge your particular outlook and governance style. Otherwise your are no better than Olmert. And he is the MOST FAILED alleged PM evah!
60. #52
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (12.11.08)
You don't get it. Israel used to be strong and safe. Under the Leftist rule Israel became weaker and more isolated. The more weak and isolated, the more the Left says Israel must surrender. I don't think Feiglin in 30th or 20th place will bring war. But if it did, I would rather have war when we have a chance to win, then a war after the Left gives control of Judea and Samaria to an Arab army. and yes, Netanyahu is a weasel
