If President Bush only had a sense of humor, this could have been the most destructive incident to the 7th century culture yet. By ducking and then saying: "Hmmmm. Not bad. Do you have these in cordovan; in size 11.5 EE? The Ragster Scribbler and his backwards desert culture could have been the objet du foolishness for another five hundred years.
4. Well now, there's a surprise!
Talula ,   Israel   (12.16.08)
Any old excuse to burn flags and run riot. Dunno why the Gazan's are getting involved - It's not like Iraq has done anything for them lately. The just don’t CARE about Gaza. Anyway – they seem to be full of strength and in good spirits – must be because of the latest batch of food delivery, courtesy of the Israeli government………….whose flag they are burning.

Ohmygod, a shoe throwing incident at Bush. That is the least he deserves following his illegal invasion of Iraq. I may not appreciate the full level of the insult but compared to what Bush did to Iraq a hurled shoe is the minimum he deserves. Aside from the hundreds of thousands of civilian dead, the European and US military dead, aside from the lies and the distorted 'evidence', aside from the great physical damage and the fact that despite everyone warning the US that they would make the situation much, much worse they went ahead with a botched occupation, there was the hubris of the whole sorry event. Not only Bush's triumphant strut on the aircraft carrier or Rumsfeld's 'known, unknowns' or Cheneys massive profiteering there was the sublime moment yesterday when Bush, asked about the incident, replied that he didn't know what the 'guy's beef was'. Look around, you myopic idiot. Even your own people don't like you any longer. You have caused nothing but destruction. To your economy, to the US's reputation and to the ME. Because you are stoopid and mendacious.

9. Reactions of the Islamist-Jihadist world
Brod ,   USA   (12.16.08)
to Bush's attacker shows that they all have terrorist proclivity. Given the opportunity, they would be planning and executing many 9/11s. They do not appreciate America's sacrifices to bring freedom and liberty in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is a big lesson for America. America should focus on obliterating the masterminds of 9/11--Bin Laden and his cohorts and get out of Iraq and Aghanistan. America cannot continue to serve as a nanny to the dark world of the Islamist-Jihadists. And America should stop helping to crusade the Jihadism of the Islamist-Jihadists on Israel. America should only help her friends and allies. And it is time for America to stop pumping $700 billion of petrodollars a year to the Islamist-Jihadist world that continues to sponsor and arm Islamist-Jihadist terrorists in the region and all over the world. It is time for America to tell the dark forces to go to HELL!

Well said Brod! What a fine enlightened example you you. Of course 'they' don't 'appreciate' Americas efforts. Which is why theu have been asking them to leave for the past six years. Or in the case of Afghanistan, the big ol' Marines have been given the run around by men wearing slippers and pyjamas armed only with AK47s. Throwing a shoe is not a terrorist 'proclivity' it is a show of disrespect. the same disrespect that the vast majority of US citizens demonstrate when asked in polls concerning Bush's approval ratings. Bush is an idiot, voted for TWICE by even bigger idiots who thought he was good for the US. But he's gone, soon. And there will be a massive party the world over to celebrate
12. Reactions from the world
Richard ,   London UK   (12.16.08)
The overwhelming Arab solidarity with the journalist and the fact that he was turned into a hero overnight have proved the extent of the misleading advertising carried out by the US media and the Iraqi officials, who have always been presenting a false picture of the "New Iraq". Zaidi has expressed the pent-up pain and humiliation which Iraqis feel as a result of the violations committed by the occupation forces throughout five years. When it became evident that George Bush, the outgoing US president, is incapable of understanding all that is being said about his rash policies, in all the languages of the world, it was necessary to invent a new language that Bush might understand, and it was the language of shoe-throwing.
13. They Also Asked President Bush
Lawrence Tendler ,   Safed Israel   (12.16.08)

You are right that Gazan Arabs (beneficiaries of enormous sums of American weapons and money), Europeans (who owe their freedom to the Americans) all hate Bush for the reasons you mention. In reality, the Shi'ites and Kurds (also human beings) are happy that Bush wiped out Saddam as they suffered from his gas-warfare attacks and oppression, and are now free. The Gulf States, including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are also happy that Saddam is gone. I guess it all depends on who you ask.
