Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (12.18.08)
"In exchange for a return to the 67 lines, Arabs will never provide more than an Oslo-ary paper that provides for a hudna only until the combined Arab countries can maneuver Israel into an indefensible situation. Then it's good-bye freierim Israel. That's the future of pursuing internationally-recognized borders. Israel will never have a permanent border until, relying on ha-Sheim, Israel unilaterally sets the permanent border and commits to defending it, no matter what. The rest of the world can refuse to recognize it or not. We're the only ones who have to recognize our borders. Everyone else has to fear intruding on our borders Those who attack Israel within our borders must (!) then pay an unbearable (!!!) price. Just don't station our soldiers beyond our borders. They must retaliate disproportionately and overwhelming, then return; all with lightning speed." Yall kinda slow arencha? 3. Flawed to the core.
Aline   (12.18.08)
This "solution" continues along the same old lines that have failed and will continue to fail in the future. First of all, hope is not a strategy. Hoping that the Arabs will one day mend their ways (what, and abandon Islam's directives to conquer the world?) and become peace-loving, industrious neighbors of the state of Israel is nothing but wishful thinking. There's nothing to discuss about Israel's borders. In 1923, the British divided the "Palestine" portion of the Ottoman Empire into two administrative districts. Jews would be permitted only west of the Jordan River. In effect, the British had "chopped off" 75% of the originally proposed Jewish Palestinian homeland to form an Arab Palestinian nation called Trans-Jordan (meaning "across the Jordan River"). This territory east of the Jordan River was given to Emir Abdullah (from Hejaz, now Saudi Arabia) who was not even an Arab-"Palestinian!" This portion of Palestine was renamed Trans-Jordan. Trans-Jordan would again be renamed "Jordan" in 1946. In other words, the eastern 3/4 of Palestine would be renamed TWICE, in effect, erasing all connection to the name "Palestine!" However, the bottom line is that the Palestinian Arabs had THEIR "Arab Palestinian" homeland. The remaining 25% of Palestine (now WEST of the Jordan River) was to be the Jewish Palestinian homeland. So stop once and for all the never-ending subdivision of this tiny piece of land. And stop coming up with Bizantine methods for reaching a consensus. Jewish land is not negotiable. No other country in the world surrenders land voluntary based on the "hope" that their enemy's leader and those who succeed him will respect a piece of paper signed by leaders nobody remembers nor cares about. Israel should declare its borders as they are now, and the Arabs living there would get legal resident status, subject to their willingness to live peacefully with their Jewish neighbors.
4. The first half makes sense, the rest is Ridiculous!
Freejew ,   Israel   (12.18.08)
Although it sounds viable, the author ends up supporting the existence of a Muslim Arab Palastinian people, that in actual fact, only exist to destroy Israel. There is no Palastine, just displaced Arabsm and they are welcome to stay if they call themselves Israeli!....The sooner we force the nedia and our governments to stop using this false term, then the Arabs lose all their excuses to attack us, and the left lose their platform to exist!.

You a are a Christian missionary. Who cares what a sick man like you thinks. Go back to America, stop pretending to be Jewish you sad man!!! So called messianics like you and your kind are an enemy potentially more dangerous than the Palestinians!
6. bs..heard it all before
David ,   Jerusalem   (12.18.08)
Israel can define the border any way we want..after all we annexed East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights...no one will recognize these unilateral moves. Anway, whats the point of announcing these borders if we don't plan to withdraw to them? Didn't he say in the begining of the article that unilateral withdrawal from gaza was a failure? So why repeat it in the West Bank?

I'm an Orthodox Jew in good standing in Beit K'nesset Moreshet Avot here in Ra'anana. You're a slanderer and liar, probably a pork-eating fake as well; not a Jew in good standing in any Orthodox synagogue. Come out from under your rock and identify yourself like a man. 8. Sharons Kadima was about Israel deciding borers unilateraly
zionist forever   (12.18.08)
The people who voted Kadima first time round like myself thought they were voting for Sharons more hardline party but when Olmert took over it became a far left one that closer resembles Meeretz to Sharons vision Olmert & Livnis party prefers the arabs to dictate terms and we just say if thats what you want then you got it you wont get any disagreement from us. We just do as we are told by our enemies these days and if we can end this victimhood attitude that feels that it must surrender to its enemies to survive then this country might actualy be a powe to be feared and respected once again.
9. A step in the right direction.
Jewish settler ,   Shilo Israel   (12.18.08)
It's easy to quickly dismiss anything that remotely suggests disparity with one's own commited ideology. However, the ability to see beyond one's preset border is truly a sign of progress. Today, Jews in Israel are sadly at extreme odds with each other to the point of breaking the very heart of our country. Whilst, I'm reluctant to look at any compromise that weakens our Jewish nation, I would be open minded about ideas that can help unify us. My major concern is to prevent more Jewish 'evictions' in favour of establishing an enemy state in the heart of Israel. Yes, I define Shilo as having more historic as well as biblical rights to being in Israel, than Tel Aviv. Only I don't think that evicting either Tel Avivians, Shilonites, Golanis, or others from their homes will bring true peace. He also has a fair point regarding non-Jews living in Israel. Minority groups wishing to live 'peacefully' in Israel 'should' be allowed a degree of autonomy & self determination, why not? That should include Arabs, even if they want to use a redundant name given by the Romans to describe themselves, such as 'Palestinians'. Ophir didn't mention the creation of a Palestinian State, and his terminology of 'minimizing' evictions shows a great degree of empathy for the plight of those of us facing a determined campaign to uproot the Jewish presence in Israel. I could cautiously explore ways in which his proposals could be enlargened upon, as he probably reflects a 'resigned' but realisitical new stance from left oriented Jews who still have their head screwed on 'right'. For the present challenges ahead, in my opinion we can & should strive to find common ground that allows us to live in better harmony with each other, provided we don't sacrifice our ultimate Jewish destiny in Israel.

And hopefully the days you are going to get out are very near. You even don't have the right to direct yourself the way you did to a Jew. Calm your self and go back to the hole you belong before you are pulled out and kicked to where you belong(anywhere but Israel!)
13. very nice ..i have a better one
Fadi ,   Beirut   (12.19.08)
i don't know what kind of conclusions you drew about us from the last 60 years ..or recently from the shoe throwing incident in Bagdad few days ago .. we fear no one except the creator ...it is a culture thing ..nothing to do with religion ... so keep talking about fast victory on the ground like lebanon 2006 .......and palestinians will make sure it is temporary and a painfull one .. a 4th grader from any arabic school would have a better analysis than this article ..with all do respect of course .. the gentelman kept talking about everything for three pages and i kept looking for the borders ..DA.. it may take some time but a message to your politicians ...take ismail haniah any time ...........................the next generation of palestinians will make haniah look like a moderate gentelman ..the new generation ,the you-tube generation and instant messaging ..is looking at the pictures live and on a daily basis ..they have the shoe incident pictures already in their living rooms ,right beside the IDF soldier crying with torn cloths walking back from lebanon 2006 ....this new generation do not like what they see happening to the palestinians and their holy sites and jerusalem ..and their blood is boiling from you ...... you can run with your injustice but you can't hide if i were you ..i would take the 2002 arabic peace plan and run with it ..never look behind me .. even that solution is a short term one because it lost its steam ..eventually will be thrown in the garbage because you will continue with your erogance and injustice .. no matter what you will put on the table with no Jerusalem or right of return will be suicidal and thrown at you so fast ...faster than alzidi's shoes . you want to call it BATNA ,NAFTA ,....BLABLABLA fancy names ..............our plan is ...........PARTS or .........palestine always ,river to sea .. our kids drink it with their breast feeding milk .. the shoe incident and your IDF pictures walking back from lebanon 2006 crying with torn cloths ..are picturs we put in our living rooms ....

15. is this what law school is for?
Leslie ,   Canada   (12.19.08)
This is pure fantasy. It doesn't mean anything. All it does is back Israel into borders that it's people decided were good in 2008. It doesn't make terrorism go away. It doesn't change anything with Hamas or Fatah. What the Israelis need to do is tell the world the negotiations are over. There is nobody to negotiate with. The Israelis need to go into the Arab schools, dismiss all the Arab teachers, tear up their books of hate and false geography, and put in Israeli teachers to teach the next generation how to be normal human beings.
16. The articel suggests an alternative to negotiations
BATNA   (12.19.08)
Clearly - negotiating with the Hamas and/or Fathah is futile. That is exactly what the article says. your comment in no way contradicts the article
17. 12&14 Nut Crew: Can't Deal w/content, so ad hominem
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (12.19.08)
I have a letter from Rav Eliyahu extending his blessings to me. It's been in my book for years. None of you do. The only think you have is ad hominems from anonymous hate-mongers. I'm complimented to be slandered by the ilks of you.
18. #17 Rav Eliyahu is going to know, hopefully very soon
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (12.19.08)
Rav Eliyahu is going to know, hopefully very soon, that he was tricked in his believes by an ordinary ,shameless individual, and then, when you and all your likes will be fully exposed, you are going to have your rear back kicked to anywhere ,but in Israel you are not going to last. That's for sure! Let us Jews fulfill what is expected from us,and there will be no more idolaters and shameless trickers in our midst!
19. 18 Let's See, we have...
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (12.19.08)
On the one side, we have the then-Chief Rabbi when he wrote the letter AFTER I informed him by letter of exactly what I stand for, impeccable Orthodox rabbis who converted me with full knowledge of what I stand for, an Orthodox synagogue who recognizes me as an Orthodox Jew in good standing, all of the proper documentation, and on and on. On the other side we have angry pork-eating athiest Edomite fake Jew, homosexual, Christian, Jews for Jesus and other assorted kooks who are clueless, misrepresenting what I stand for, lying, slandering and hate-mongering who NEVER deal with the content of the message because they lack the brains and have no recourse except to lie, slander, misrepresent and rely on ad hominems. What a tough choice. I'm most pleased that you consider me your adversary. I am indeed the adversary of angry pork-eating athiest Edomite fake Jew, homosexual, Christian, Jews for Jesus and other assorted kooks who are clueless, misrepresenting what I stand for, lying, slandering and hate-mongering who NEVER deal with the content of the message because they lack the brains and have no recourse except to lie, slander, misrepresent and rely on ad hominems.
20. 18 Let's See - 2
Paqid Yirmeyahu   (12.19.08)
You claim R. Eliyahu didn't know to whom he was extending his blessings, based on YOU KNOW. ROFL These rabbis and Orthodox Jews who know me are serious people who don't rely on slander and have looked into the facts; Jews for Judaism has recognized the basic distinction between the two opposites of a Pharisee Ribi contrasted against the Xn idol. They don't rely on misrepresentations, slanders and lies LIKE YOU DO. You're an ignorant nut case and a slanderer, a purveyor of khilul ha-Sheim.

the borders of our land were determined long ago and the land deed contract still stands. from the river of egypt to the euphrates river-genesis15:18 part of that contract states that we are to drive the squatters off of our land but if we don't then G-D will do to us as He thought to do to these squatters He doesn't want living with us-numbers33:51-56. the contract is easy to understand-----------why we refuse to do our part and so keep on punishing ourselves makes no sense to simple minded me. are we masochists that just can't break the habit of enjoying pain?
22. paqid.I want your name, I am related to Rabbi Kadouri

the spirit took me to a huge mountain, high mountain,he showed me JESUSALEN the holy city,it was coming down out of heaven from G-D,it shone with the glory of G-D,twelve angels were at the twelve gates which were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel,i didn´t see a temple in the city, this was because the lamb and the lord G-D who rules over all are its temple, the city does not need the sun or moon to shine on it,G-D´s glory is its light and the lamb is its lamp, they will rule for ever and ever, the angel said to me,you can trust these words, they are true, the lord is the G-D of the spirit of the prophets,he sent his angel to show those who serve him the things that must soon take place.
24. As a start, the world should know that :
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (12.20.08)
The historical and political truth about our rights and legitimity is unquestionable. The Jews have the right to build and live freely in their country. We have modern political rights dating back to the First World War: "After World War I, the borders and countries that today make up the Middle East were created - Iran, Iraq, Syria, etc. Modern Israel was created the same way! The countries of the world charged Britain [in the San Remo Resolution of 1920, based on the League of Nations and Balfour Declaration] with creating a 'national homeland' for the Jewish People, based on the 'historical rights' of the Jews, and calling for Jewish immigration and settlement here. Only a quarter of the land, including Hevron and Shechem, originally designated for the Jews by the League of Nations, was left for us. The historical and political truth about rights and legitimity can be read in its 5 parts at : http://xrl.us/bi5c6
25. Someone Explain to me
David ,   Boca Ratan, FL   (12.20.08)
How is this not a pogrom against Arabs? How is this not ethnic cleansing of Palestinians? How does this not provide justification to pogroms and ethnic cleansing against Jews outside of Israel. If Israel is just for Jews, then Germany was for Germans. Has no one learned anything from history. I guess we all will have to repeat that lesson. Enjoy!!!

27. What a genius.
Megan ,   Belfast   (12.20.08)
Right ! So in short , you mean that Israelis should continue to ignore Internaitonal Law and ignore Human Rights obligations. Similtaneously, to stamp all over the Palestinians in order to try to make them move away from their homes, whilst Israelis continue to build a racist supremacist state. Hasnt anyone ever told you that the definition of insanity is, to continue to do the same thing as always whilst expecting it to yield a different result ?
28. #24,,,you're 100% WRONG!
Edithann ,   USA   (12.20.08)
You forget...the Brits didn't have the authority at Balfour anymore than anyone else to 'give' Palestine to the Jews!...It wasn't legal then and it wasn't right..Giving stolen property to other thieves and calling it legitimate does not make it legal or right.. Is selling stolen Jewelry make the new buyer the legitimate owner of the Jewelry?.. Get it?... TATA

Jack ,   Richmond ca us   (12.20.08)
Palestinians are descendants of ancient israelites. It is written in their genes. Simply, google " y- chromosome Jew Palestinian". Half of Palestinian Muslim males have the same y as seventy percent of Jews.
30. #28 Hey Edithann
Chaim   (12.21.08)
Are you a Native American? If not, please remove your land-thieving self from their land. Israel is, at least, in a better position to argue its right to the land than you, as Israel was never Palestinian land, while your house used to belong to one or another of the autochthonous tribes of the Americas. Britain was awarded the land by the League of Nations after the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire. They had the right to give it as a country to whomever they pleased. We Jews were fortunate enough that it was us, and even more fortunate that our friendly Arab neighbors' desire to massacre us went unfulfilled. Silly Arabs, if they hadn't started that war they and the Jews would be dwelling side by side together in peace right now and you would be whining about Russia and Poland giving East Prussia back to the Germans or something similar. ATAT! (Haha, that's TATA spelled backwards!) Chaim
