1. Is this Judaism?
Arielush ,   Ramat Ha Golan   (12.21.08)
In religious neighbourhoods, before the Shabbat shops are close, traffic is stopped. Isn't such violence a deeper violation of the Sabbath. Someone should lock up these thugs and throw away the key, or build them their own private ghetto.
2. "Boys and girls laughing together
Talula ,   Israel   (12.21.08)
is forbidden. This shouldn't happen in a SECULAR neighborhood, let alone an ultra-Orthodox one," Moshe stated" HA HA HA HA HA!! - come ON people!! that's not normal - it's very very SICK!! Just LOOK what they have done to Judaism? LOOK!!!!
3. HOW DARE YOU SPREAD SUCH LIES ABOUT SUCH HOLY PEOPLE!
H. A. Ready ,   Beit Shemesh   (12.21.08)
As we all know, the level of morality in the modern day has taken a nosedive. This is nowhere more evident that among what were once our dear, sweet children. Breasts and facial hair have brought with them pornography and promiscuity. What business had those three little temptresses in our neighborhood? That spot we try so hard to keep an oasis of holiness amidst the sea of raging sexuality. Those girls are destined for only one thing. Their future is painted red. Our ancestors would be ashamed. Now, please excuse me, as I have an appointment with a certain vacant Bar Ilan computer.
4. Just as bad as the Taliban!!!!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (12.21.08)
I am absolutely horrified at this. If some rabbis do not come out against this, they will be doing a great disservice to the image of Judaism!! Who would want to be a Jew with people like this as role models!!!
5. Intimidating and picking on women...
Scott ,   Haifa   (12.21.08)
Because they are brave and that is all they can handle. In Arad 700 of them surround a widow's house to terrify her because her religious beliefs are different than theirs.
6. "An oasis of holiness amidst the sea of raging sexuality"
oscar ,   buenos aires   (12.21.08)
I suppose you are sarcastic, arenĀ“t you?.
7. 3 Ready - you do talk rubbish - the Rambam
S Judah ,   London   (12.21.08)
would spit on your interpretation of Judisim and the Sages would have given you 30 lashes and rightly so. You have no knowledge of the morality of these girls. But we now have knowledge of your own weaknesses and I suggest you work on these rather then blaming others. Note that Rav Ovadia and Rav Eliyashiv consider your type "nuts"
8. It is all true!
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (12.21.08)
I personally went to Beit Shemesh to find out the truth about this matter ,and it is exactly like that. I was wearing large pants and a tee -shirt with short/medium leaves and a scarf over my shoulders. The town was empty when I arrived at its center and no more than 10 minutes after it was full of Haredim men and children boys and they shouted at me,and even spit out(not reaching me ,of course!) .I shouted too and prayed the Shema ,what scared them.I said to them that we are all Jews and that they were wrong! Frankly,it was a kind of house for lunatics what happened there in those moments. The women are more comprehensive and apparently they disagree with such behavior. It is awfull! I said to them that the town is maintened by the public and that it do not belong to them exclusively. I think ,sincerely, that Haredim have all rights to maintein their way of life the way they choose, but then, they should live in a fenced farm, with gates to control who enters.A public tow is a public town. They are wrong! I ,sincerely again, like the Haredim and think they are even very naive, but ,reality must be faced and they are wrong!
9. If true, a horrible act by depraved defilers of Hashem.
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (12.21.08)
If this story is true as reported, it is the biggest display of Chillul Hashem (defaming Gd's name) that I have ever read. There should be no tolerance in any society for such behavior, yet alone a Torah society. The perpetrators should be arrested and given hefty prison sentences. Let their daughters sit without a father for a few years.
10. H.A. Ready, you are the reason
David ,   Tel Aviv   (12.21.08)
why Israel is in so much trouble. You are a dickhead, plain and simple, the religious in this country are responsible for so much trouble and depravity. If only you and your ilk would go out and get a job and do something instead of praying all day!
11. If only YNET reporting were as tough on Arab mobs, l'havdil
Yonatan ,   Los Angeles   (12.21.08)
12. To Ha Ready
Arielush ,   Ramat Ha Golanc   (12.21.08)
"little temptresses" Are you a pervert? Your ancestors would be ashamed of you?
13. shame on u. u r acting like iranian mullahs. we r Nazis now
ashamed jew   (12.21.08)
now what is the difference between you and those lunatic mullahs in iran again???!!!! i am an honest jew with a conscience and am ashamed of you. how dare YOU instill such hatred in our societies and on sabbath!!! your way of thinking is no better than the iranian lunatics. Please check for the similarities between you too.... huh, and you dare call our children, our jewish children "Nazis."!!!!! this is beyond appalling.
14. #4 Chaya WORSE THAN THE TALIBAN
Petra ,   USA   (12.21.08)
THESE PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW BETTER BUT DON'T. THEY ARE A HUGE EMBARASSMENT TO ALL JEWS EVERYWHERE. NEXT TIME, GIRLS SHOULD BRING ESCORTS W/ MUSCLES OR, GUNS. HORRID TREATMENT BY SEEMINLY HORRID PEOPLE. RELIGIOUS? MY TUCHAS.

Ari ,   tel aviv, israel   (12.21.08)
you speak of being moral? beating up kids is moral? next friday my girlfriend and I are going to making out on the street of your neighborhood. i will see you there? unlike you, we served in the army. so bring it on.
17. 4 Chaya: The Taliban BEHEADED women who were not
Rivkah   (12.21.08)
in compliance with customs or who were war widows and a burden on society. These girls were not fatally injured, but learned a valuable lesson. In India, they would have been splashed with gasoline and set on fire by a displeased older woman relative or mother in law. Please do not compare Haredi offenses with the murderous Taliban. It is not a valid comparison.
18. Perhaps staying inside at home is the best way to spend
Rivkah   (12.21.08)
Shabbat, studying the Holy Books. In the Bible story of Judah and Tamar, Judah mistakenly thought a woman (Tamar) who was covered from head to foot but sitting alone in the open. Going out for a walk on the Shabbat in some neighborhoods can be hazardous. I remember a childhood girlfriend and I cleaning a house her stepfather was building. It was a weekend and I drove the friend to the house from her home so we could surprise her mother by cleaning it up. Instead, her mother showed up in a rage, accusing Claudia of trying to "lure boys" by going to the partly built house. She beat her with a wooden board and I left, being unable to do anything else. It was a terrible misunderstanding and her mother was totally in the wrong. So we stopped going there alone, trying to help.
19. Arrests???
Ofer   (12.21.08)
I'd be amazed if the incompetent boobs in the police department arrest anyone in this case.
20. Use your time wiser!!!!!!!
Praying for Peace ,   Jerusalem   (12.21.08)
Oh so the way 2 take care of it is beat them right(ON SHABBOS!!!!!!!)? kol yisrael areivim zeh la zeh if u think ur helping out your sweet sisters and daughters(or anybody for tht matter) by beating them u have another thing coming my friend may you be zoche to a complete Teshuva speedily in our days so we can once again be united as 1 nation not beating eachother rather explaining eachother the beauty and knowledge of H-shem and the sweet sweet Torah!!!!!!!!
21. File a complaint with the police and sue the bastards
israel   (12.21.08)
22. H.A. Ready- ready for what?
Miriam ,   Spain   (12.21.08)
I feel so sorry for you 'holy' people- you pray and think of yourself as true believers etc. etc. and you cannot even look at young modest girls without having dirty thoughts- shame! Not every young girl is a harlot- besides who appointed you 'keeper' of modesty? You have your own twisted ideas of what other people should think and do..... if this is how your own ancestors treated other people- I am not surprised there were repercussion... fill in the blanks.....
23. #3 H.A Ready
Linda   (12.21.08)
Who do you think you are? G-d? Only G-d can say who is moral or not. I have the feeling G-d does not like people talking the way you do about other people ;) But who am I? Not G-d, so I will let him do the job of pointing the finger. Have a great and moral day!
24. PUT A WAL AROUND THESE JUDEO FASCISTS!
Ben Avraham ,   Tel Aviv   (12.21.08)
25. #3 only HKBH is Holy, cool down !
avi   (12.21.08)
26. 1 - yes
Moishe   (12.21.08)
Unfortunately, it is.
27. Yeah right!
Shalom   (12.21.08)
Do you really believe this story the way it was published? Shame on you! If you don't believe CNN/BBC when they spew anti-Israel bias, why believe YNet when they spew anti-Chareidi bias?
28. Lunatics. This is Israel?
Efroim ,   Washington DC   (12.21.08)
Taliban-style behaviour indeed. I bet those old guys were horny. If my daughter were one that was hurt, I would come to their neighbourhood to take care of business. Amazing how the girl had to hide and wear a Burka to save her life. Does the police even bother to find the horny criminals?? Its like being in Iran.
29. Set up a decoy and when they come. VOILA!
Dr.Shemesh ,   Eilat   (12.21.08)
Set up a sting operation. 2 girls (men) who are undercover police. The weirdos come and attack the the "girls". Shazam. Beat them and aresst them on the spot! Like a mouse who comes for the cheese trap.
30. Adding something to mine #8
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (12.21.08)
Of course, one can not force nobody to act differently that they wish, but just an opinion:if they approuched me,as I was trying to approuch them, and talked to me and ,who knows ,invited me for a Shabbat meal or whatever, things would be more nicer. We are all Jews, and it should not exist discrimination among us. We all were together at the Sinai and listened the same thing. What they know,I know;what they feel,I feel;what is my destiny as a Jew is the same destiny as theirs. I think so...
