You know what else a responsible goverment does? -It doesn't allow a man who accepts cash bribes to stay as PM... even if it is 'for a few months' -It doesn't botch the 2nd Lebanon war by tying both hands of the army, castrating military plans for political gains, abandoning the North, and just generally being losers -It doesn't put men like Amir Peretz and Dan Halutz or Tweedle dee and Tweedle dumb as the heads of the army! -It doesn't leave the people of the south to live in hellish conditions, under a phony 'truce/cease-fire/hudna' just because you screwed up the 2nd lebanon war and are now so afraid AND incompetent to do anything to help those populations. Like doing 'proportionate' artillery retaliations! -It doesn't negotiate with a terrorists regime like Syria, just for 'legacy' or for the real reason that you don't want to indicted and you think the lefty supreme court will save you! -It doesn't allow the education, health, and pretty much all other public services to deteriorate! -And there is simply TOO MUCH TO LIST. So sum up, if you were truly a responsible gov't we would have elections in Nov 2006, with YOU Olmert immediately resigning after the 2nd lebanon war admitting that you were incompetent and that we needed new direction with our leadership! Olmert is right in a way,to send IDF into Gaza would be a bloody disaster and as soon as they pull out rocket fire would resume,but saying the Government is not eager to fight is interpreted as weakness by the likes of Iran and Syria those "Piss Partners"

Who in their right mind would be eager for war here? but unfortunately the situation when citizens are allowed to be" sitting ducks" with impunity is not a good solution.

How sad it is that . Barak says that he and the IDF are making plans for different contingencies. Why now? Did the defense minister only now wake up/? In 2006 a couple of soilders were snatched by terrorists operating out of Lebanon. Responsible Olmert he decided send in the troops now even though he had no clear politcal or miliitary objectives it was just rush in becaise we can but once we are in Lebanon what next. George Bush delayed a UN vote on a ceacefire to give Olmert a chance to finish the job but instead of finishing off Hizbullah he ran out tail between his legs then had Livni negotiatiate resolution 1701 and watched Hizbullah rearm and become stronger than they were even before the war. In 2008 Israeli towns in the south & Ashkelon are under regular rocket attacks but responsible Olmert has decided we wait indefaintly. 2006 he is willing to go to war over 2 soilders 2008 he isnt willing to go to war to stop daily rocket attacks. Whats going to happen when a rocket hits a school and kills a class full of children? Its only a matter of time before somethng like that does happen if we bury our heads in the sand pretend everything is fine and dandy while the rockets continue to fall. Olmert snubbed the one year memorial service for the soilders who died in Lebanon, will he attend the funerals of the unlucky Israelis who will eventualy be killed by a rocket because of his unwillingness to take action. If he was a distinguished soldier iin his commando days, he has turned out to be dishonorable and missing in action since he was PM. His efforts are pathetic and he doesn't even realize it. Finally Livni really has no power, is ineffectual(Olmert dismisses her as irrelevant) and lacks bottom line knowhow. Kadima brought all these rockets to Israel, loss of deterrence and pity.
