1. Absolute victory.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (12.22.08)
Based on theWorld War II experience, “absolute victory” has come to mean vanquishing the enemy – not merely defeating its army and effecting regime change, but forcing its acceptance that the vision that led to its aggression and the system that sustained it were at the end. Victory is needed to prove to the Muslims in general and the Arabs in particular that against their ethos of death stands the ethos of life, protected by the arms of democracies that are resolved to punish them where it hurts most as explained at :
2. "Warmonger" Livni ?
ME ,   USA   (12.22.08)
Did this "Biased ??" article just give an personal opinion.....because i thought it was in the NEWS section of this NEWS site. If I wanted a slanderous opinion, well I normally would go to the OPINIONS section or just read talkbacks. I would love to see unbiased reporting so as to determine the "truth" for myself and not have to take the writers version of it. Just an example of what I'm getting sick of ..
3. Hamas/Hez and Gen.W.T. Sherman
mike cato ,   USA   (12.22.08)
With regard to the situation with Israel's enemies, the words of victorious Gen W.T. Sherman, Army of the Republic, American Civil War, cannot be repeated often enough: "War is cruelty, There is no use trying to refine it.The crueler it is the sooner it will be over." "Every attempt to make war easy and safe will result in humiliation and disaster."
4. They are playing with us!
Nim ,   Netanya   (12.22.08)
Don't you see that? They're playing with us! They want a ceasefire because the IDF forces launch a wider offensive in Gaza. Suddenly the hammas is affraid and thats why they want a truce, and meanwhile they rearm themselves for the next attack! Inspite of the ceasefire they still launch rockets, and they expect us to stop! I think we should not stop because they're liars!!!
5. Spelling it out
Talula ,   Israel   (12.22.08)
"Israel to reciprocate by ceasing all military attacks in Gaza and lifting an embargo on the impoverished territory" And there you have it. Any blind dumb Moron can see that is our bargaining chip. This is what is making their lives hell. And we need to use it to our advantage. But no, the government won't. How stupid will they allow themselves to get?
6. The Art of War
Talula ,   Israel   (12.22.08)
To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting. -Sun Tzu, the Art of War Seems our loser government has so much to learn.
7. Yes but whos in charge of Hamas?
Sammy ,   Newcastle UK   (12.22.08)
Is it Haniyeh or Mashaal or Ahmadinejad or Zahar? Get this: Haniyeh says yes to a cease fre Mashaal says no to a cease fire Ahmadinejad says no to a cease fire Zahar says no to a cease fire And in case anyone has forgotten - do they CARE what ordinary Gazans say? Gazans say yes to a cease fire
8. Thank you !!
ME ,   USA   (12.22.08)
for the prompt removal of the word warmonger. Its use was incorrect, and being so made it an obvious insult / jab at Livni by the writer. I understand things get by "checks" for this stuff, but please do take notice to biased writers. Either the writer injected the personal opinion / insult or someone else did. Thank you for correcting it.
9. #8 Hope you have a safe journey
Talula ,   Israel   (12.22.08)
back to your perfect little Planet.
10. LOL...I wish Perfect planet....maybe one day
ME ,   USA   (12.22.08)
until then i have to live in your world. Nothing wrong with making mistakes, but I would hardly call it a mistake. That's the WHOLE point... Someone did it on purpose with no good intentions possible. I like this news site and don't believe they noticed it. Its corrected now, and as for me....I'm no was NO accident.
11. The seige
Richard ,   London UK   (12.22.08)
The task is to break the Israeli siege, an absolutely illegal siege which has plunged a million and a half Palestinians into wretched conditions: imprisoned in their own homes, exposed to extreme military violence, deprived of the basic necessities of life, stripped of their most fundamental human rights and dignity. The siege violates the most fundamental principle of international law: the inadmissibility of harming civilian populations. Israel also attempt to absolve itself of responsibility for what is happening in Gaza. Israel’s claim that there is no Occupation, or that the Occupation ended with “disengagement,” is patently false. Occupation is defined in international law as having effective control over a territory. Nor has the siege anything to do with “security.” Like other elements of the Occupation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, where Israel has also besieged cities, towns, villages and whole regions, the siege on Gaza is fundamentally political. It is intended to isolate the democratically-elected government of Palestine and break its power to resist Israeli attempts to impose an apartheid regime over the entire country.

13. #11... Seige???
ME ,   USA   (12.22.08)
WRONG.....They are not laying "Seige" to gain entry (like some medieval castle seige), but Israel IS closing ITS border to keep terrorists OUT. In all your rant, you never once mention Egypts closed border...wonder why? I think because it does not fit your agenda, so you twist and forget important details.....nothing new. Tunnels, weapons, large exotic animals for the city zoo, bragging, infighting, and you want me to believe that Gaza people are starving or doing without the basics???? If they are they only have Hamas to blame. I remember the "lull"....Israel opened the crossings, and the rockets and mortars never stopped......Israel THEN closed the crossings due to the fire. Thing is......people over the world are not as stupid as you actually help show your deception by NOT trying to make your argument full of facts and Thank you...its people like you and "Paliwood productions" that show me the lies.
14. Here's an "Offer"
Shimon ,   Cincinnati, USA   (12.22.08)
One more missle and we wipe you off the face of the earth.
15. Re: #11 Siege
Michael ,   NYC, USA   (12.22.08)
Actually, billions of dollars has been poured into the territories over the years. $7Billion was the last I heard. About half was stolen by the late Chariman Arafat, and the rest, who knows, clan leaders? corrupt politicos? No matter what Israel does or doesn't do, the territories could be a gleaming paridise instead of a place where terrorists dig up the peoples' water pipes to use as rockets. They would rather act like victims than just getting on with building their lives. I'm sure, though, that anyone who spoke out about this would be killed by their clan leaders. Please reply. If you know different, I would really like to hear from you. Thank you.
