Bennie ,   Jerusalem   (12.23.08)

6. NO to Islamist-Jihadist manipulations
Brod ,   USA   (12.23.08)
Olmert should stop meeting with Islamist-Jihadist leaders in the region to be manipulated by them to crusade their Jihadism on Israel. This is especially so when Islamist-Jihadist rockets are raining on Israel and terrorizing Israel's population. It is time Olmert spends his remaining time defending Israel from external attacks instead of piping the crap of the Islamist-Jihadists in the region. Land for peace is NOT peace. It is fake peace based on trickery or Islamist-Jihadist Taqiyya to fool Israel into letting them usurp parts of Israel's liberated historic homeland. Israel is a small country. It cannot continue the path of Leftism of giving away parts of her tiny land to the her enemies whose stated ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel.
7. This man is embarrassing. Cant someone tell him to go?
Australian Guy   (12.23.08)
8. Why is the indictment being delayed?
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.23.08)
Why, indeed? Is this another instance of a crooked & corrupt politician being protected from prosecution because he is furthering the agenda of Leftists? Every day that passes without an indictment undermines people's faith in our judicial system. Mr Mazuz is not doing his job.
9. Negotiations with Syria is not the story.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.23.08)
All these phoney ''negotiations'' are a smoke-screen. The real story is why has there been no indictment. Why is a criminal still PM? If our politicians had ANY integrity, they would boycott Olmert & refuse to attend cabinet meetings. What does this say about THEM?
10. Robert Malley -
Dave ,   RI   (12.23.08)
Obama's senior foreign policy advisor, was sent to Mubarak & Assad 2 days after Obama's victory. An aide said "the Obama administration would take into greater account Egyptian and Syrian interests." In 2001 he wrote in the NY Times that the previous years Camp David talks fell apart because of Israel. The arabs loved this but it wasn't how the negotiations were recalled by Barak, Clinton, & Dennis Ross. Malley has written numerous times that the US should disengage from Israel and Hamas' election was the result of legitimate palestinian "anger at years of humiliation." Malley is the Middle East and North Africa Program Director for the International Crisis Group (ICG).
11. #9 Maybe he wants Kadima to lose
Logic ,   Israel   (12.23.08)
Maybe this is his way of ruining Livni's chances of getting elected.
12. Why Bother? There's going to be a huge war anyway.
Realistic Pessimist   (12.23.08)
13. "lame duck Olmert" - LOL!
Kim ,   Israel   (12.23.08)
Well look at that. His reputation precedes him. They are even having a laugh in Syria.
14. Direct talks and immediate give away of Israel.
Moses   (12.23.08)
15. MAzuz is as crooked as Olmert!
Freejew ,   Israel   (12.23.08)
Why is he dragging his feet? There should be an investigation into why Mazuz hasnt proceeded with the indictment! He is as crooked as Olmert!
16. Olmert wants to give away the Golan more than Assad wants it
zionist forever   (12.23.08)
The other day Assad anounced that he would't hold anymore negotiations till after the US & Israeli elections. He also yesterday said direct talks were possible but he didn't specify they would take place before the elections. Now here comes Olmert saying please meet me Mr Assad and negotiate with me now lets make a deal in my last 6 weeks before somebody else comes along and steals my place ih history and nobel prize. He has been trying to get into bed with so many arab dictaitors that he thinks the same rules applies to him as apply to them. Assad can say I WILL GIVE UP ALL CLAIM TO THE GOLAN and his word ls law he doesn't need anybody elses permision he can formerly sign it over to Israel today if he wanted. Olmert although he might believe or want to be able to say to Assad I WILL GIVE YOU THE GOLAN he has to get it through the Knesset first and right now its unlikley he would get enough support and could he even get them to vote on it within the next 6 weeks? Either Olmert is a complete fool or he is just preparing for his career plans after he leaves office. Going on the anti Israel lectrue circuit saying to all the left wing anti Israel intelectuas how he was such a great PM and a visionry and if he had only had a few more months he would have been able to push through a treaty with Syria. It shows just how much our political system has degenerated and we need a new system that doesn't rely on coalition government and where MKS are directly elected by the public its the only way to bring real democracy to Israel and allow new political thinking.

Robert I wish the US would disengage itself from Israel then we would at last be an INDEPENDENT STATE right now virtualy all foreign policy and some domestic & defense policies are made in Washington. If the US disengages itself then we can decide if there is going to be a peace process or not and what we will agree to and we wont need to go asking permision from the rest of the world to authorise a Gaza operation. We could sell weapons to anybody we liked including China, exporting weapons to non US friendly states like China & Russia may even make us more money through direct income that we do through US military aid which has lots of strings attached like we must by a certain percentage of weapons we buy for cash must be American. That means even if somebody else is selling something better at a better price we cant buy it. In a world where there are new world powers growing like India & China then maybe its time we stopped looking to the US to help us solve all our problems. Oslo happened because George Bush senior forced us to speak with the PLO and start a peace process because that was the condition of the arab states who he needed to join the coalition to drive Saddam Hussain out of Kuwait. We have fallen into the same trap we did before 1967 and grown to assume the US will always be our friend and put our interests first everytime. Obama has given up fighting the war on terror and he has decided already Israel will pay the price for that.
18. olmert & meretz
alexi   (12.23.08)
peace seeking olmert means accepting the benvenusti plan which is the arab state of palestine with ajewish minority tzimmi. This is what olmert wants to agree to.Oron, Beilin, Ben-ami, Barak, peres, ayalon all agree to this. Most of israelis do not. Israel brought back arafat, gave them guns, withdrew from some cities and gaza and got death in return. No thannks. Go to hell with arafat. Israelis want to live.Liberman is right about barak. he should resign and get the hell out as he has done nothing but prop up the coweard olmert for the last 2 years.
19. Iranian pressure bearing fruit!
IRAN#1   (12.23.08)
Ahmadinejad has been successful in spreading such a deep fear into Israeli leaders and pressure them to a point that they are now willing to give up the Golan Heights just to break Syria away from Iran! That's how you do it boys and girls! Observe and learn.
20. Zionist Forever - 17
Dave ,   Rhode Island   (12.23.08)
I agree that it appears that Obama is about to throw Israel under the bus. On the other hand, I have seen Mrs. Clinton tear a pali a new one when it came to them brainwashing their kids. Maybe China or India would be better allies and not tend to micromanage the internal affairs of Israel, as the US does.
