The excessive use of force will not bring security to Israel. Hamas will be stronger after this operation and will keep on growing like a cancer. We have Lebanon, Afghanstan, and Iraq as lessons to learn from. The current operation is to achieve short term political goals but on the long term, everyone knows that no army in the world, regardless how strong it is can win guerrilla war. Its a matter of few weeks and we will see, hope i am worng and that a miracle can happen and we get rid of Hamas, but i really doubt it.

A recent CNN poll showed that 62% believed Israel's attacks on Hamas were justified. By removing Hamas, Israel is also cutting Iran's hands off from reaching Gaza, which is a bonus. The Arab world created Hamas and Jihad hoping to exterminate the Jews. Now they see that by conditioning their populations for hatred, they themselves have become targets. Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia are now supporting Israel againt Hamas because they are afraid for themselves. Mohammad understands that Barak/Livni attack is ineffective. Israel has no exit strategy and each Hamas death brings 2 new warriors next year and destabilizes the Arab dictatorships. To get rid of Hamas, Israel must expand Jewish villages and towns, including rebuilding the villages of Homesh and Northern Gaza.
