61. #60 How ironic you would invoke Saul of Tarsus
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (01.05.09)
The man that dreamed of Jesus and opened the door for the various Roman synods and councils of Iznik etc. etc. etc to play "fill in the gaps with popular Roman demagoguery and prognostications. Pauline Christianity quite possibly is the greatest disaster to befall the meek, the disenfranchised, and those in the greatest need of community, fellowship and compassion. How did the beliefs of Essenes and the James Knesset get so badly distorted by the exegesis of the Bishop Irenaeus? How can this tragedy keep perpetuating itself? Oh well I don't know for sure?Maybe these are the trials of faith preceding the Jeshurun. Paul the Hittite was no Jew and most likely didn't even speak Hebrew. Early I saw a post from a Rabbi that simply said "no Halachic Jew could endorse Homosexual marriage and he just simply didn't know about such things" I call this the head in the sand approach and even Torah scholars like the good Rabbi are not immune. If you advocate for Homosexual marriages you may be called a “closet homosexual” and a horrendous damnable apostate before the laws of the all mighty and ridiculed. If you oppose homosexual marriages you will be called uncompassionate and ostracizing your fellow human. Both of these conclusions are erroneous ad hominem fallacy because realistically an individual cannot be made “gay” or “homosexual” they are simply born that way, this “choice” people seem to believe is there is quite simply an illusion and this certain knowledge of damnation for supporting it is equally spurious. There are so many examples of righteous individuals displaying what could be construed as homosexual behavior in the Tanakh just look at Yonathan and David (is it so certain). If you look up the definition of Pharisee in any English dictionary it always says something about hypocrisy. A true Parush advocated for the people, from among the people in both the court of the Lord and the court of human society. The great Hillel said “That which is hateful to you do not do to your neighbor” Laws of miscegenation in America prohibited Black skinned people from marrying white skinned people and these laws were perpetuated by Pauline Christian interpretations of scripture. I would submit to you that prohibiting a thing you enjoy from another because of the way they were born and invoking sophistry and erroneous biblical interpretation is a “hateful thing”
62. to #58 and #59
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (01.05.09)
#58 making the subtle comparison of Homosexuality to incest is an intellectually bankrupt argument and unworthy of a citizen of the most educated country on Earth. HA! #59 "False Messiah"? what? wrong belief system guy, if you want messiah's oracles and prophets try the various Xtian denominations.
63. Contradicting Torah Bespeaks a False Shepherd (4th try)
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (01.05.09)
Ynet 3x refused to print this since 01.01. It is true that Torah addresses the ACT of homosexuality, not the person who is merely tempted. One who resists the temptation to commit a homosexual act is no more guilty of homosexuality than one who resists the temptation to rob a bank is guilty of bank robbery. The argument that one is born with homosexual proclivities, beside being unproven and disputed among scientists, is no more compelling than one born with pedophilic, rapist, or murderous proclivities. That doesn't make it acceptable. It is equally true that Torah advocates encouraging the tempted to resist violating Torah and to make teshuvah. However, the number of homosexuals is irrelevant. There are more atheist-Edomite "Jews" than homosexuals. Does Riskin, similarly, advocate that atheists should be embraced in the Orthodox community? There are more Christian born-Jews than homosexuals. Does Riskin, similarly, advocate that Christian born-Jews be embraced in the Orthodox community? There are more gentile Christians seeing themselves as "remaining Jews" than homosexuals. Where does it end? Torah commands NOT to follow even the majority toward wrong (Shemot 23.2), whether atheist, Christian, homosexual, fabulist or whatever. If Riskin is asking us to believe that long-term homosexual couples are celibate he stretches credulity beyond reason. And even if it were true, the paradigm of a long-term homosexual couple is prohibited in the Torah community. Torah dictates that males who are unrepentantly guilty of a homosexual act must be killed meaning, most likely (but at the very least), excision (spiritual death) and shunning--certainly precluding long-term acceptance in our midst. For anyone to endorse homosexual couples as a legitimate instance or paradigm in the Torah community is violating Torah. Rabbis are only fit insofar as they teach Torah, which is limited to compatibility with Torah she-Bikhtav. Rabbis are supposed to be teachers; they are not rulers. When they place themselves in contradiction of Torah they make themselves false teachers and false shepherds. Rabbis, more than others, are responsible, and accountable, to know better. 64. Paqid: Thanks for persevering to get a tb in.
(01.05.09)
65. paqid , the self proclaimed "authority"
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.05.09)
and only "authority" on deceiving people . Go to your baptist church , togetherr with this rivkah and this guy from Argentina . Christian missionaries are NOT welcome hare
66. toledot ben adam
AY_lamb ,   USA   (01.05.09)
so many marriages, so many interpretations of scripture, so many judgments and so many changes throughout the millennia. Should Jew marry gentile? Some posekim have equated interfaith marriages to the catastrophe of the Shoa. Are they wrong? Are they outside of Torah? Until Moshiach, I would question those that purport to know unquestionably the will of HaShem. I have a dear friend that is Roman Catholic she opposes "Gay Marriage" because she believes it would be wrong for the state to "force" Priests to abdicate their vows of service to "Jesus who is the Torah" which clearly forbids homosexual marriage. So many share this belief or, a similar one that likens expansion of civil liberties to one group to the forfeiture of civil liberties to another group. This logic is demagoguery and sophistry in the form of ad hominem fallacy (nobody can force a cleric "legally anyway" do anything against his or her will. Rabbi Riskin states that sexual contact between males is forbidden in Torah but, he is reserving judgment; I would say he is a bold honorable and "good shepherd" to ostracize a segment of the flock for the health of the rest is spurious. I had another friend that was raised in good Ashkenazi Home with good and loving (frum) parents but, he is now yeridah, when I asked why he said "that although the Torah forbids euthanizing the body, Jews euthanize the soul" I was so shocked and saddened by that and I unable to change his mind. After reading some of the inflammatory comments about Rav Riskin I am reconsidering my friends premise. To disenfranchise such a large segment of the "flock" seems morally inept to me.
67. incest
Ariel ,   sederot   (01.05.09)
incest is the next thing
68. Ariel , Sderot
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.05.09)
Have'nt you other things to think about than stupidities ? Or has the situation there altered your brains ?
69. Beyond comprehension
daat y ,   jherusalem   (01.06.09)
R.Riskin has forgotten the importance of the Jewish family consisting of a husband and wife.
70. not orthodox
daat y ,   jerusalem   (01.06.09)
I know of no halachic opinion that legitimizes a gay or lesbian couple. A single mother is setting up an apriori denigration of what is a jewish family.
71. Every time French Atheist (Charles) seems to set new level
(01.06.09)
of ignorance, he lowers the bar on himself. European atheists have no business here based on racist argument of blood.
72. Atheist Europeans Don't Belong in Israel
(01.06.09)
73. Paqid Proclaims Torah, not himself, Authority
(01.06.09)
Unlike atheist and homosexuals who falsely proclaim themselves authorities on Jews and Judaism.
74. Rabbi Risnkin
GB ,   Paris, France   (01.06.09)
It might be about money: 25 years in a relationship, natural father of child through surrogacy, no problem at the 4 synagogues we are a member of: Paris (orthodox), Toronto (orthodox), Palm Beach (conservative), Geneva (orthodox). lso on the board of respected charities: never hidden the fact. Our child is happy, well adjusted and we have good friends in all communities. A child only needs love.
75. Paqid the goyish COWARD can't be Jewish as he claims
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.06.09)
He is only a fake Jew , but a 100 % baptist minister . And a deceiving guy . Go to your church , missionaries are'nt needed here .
76. #75 I totally agree that the witnessing
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (01.06.09)
and proselytizing is repulsive, tacky and disgusting. As you probably know Christians (as a whole) split the world into two groups believers and non-believers and, well frankly there is an unspoken or "rarely spoken" truism amongst them that non-believers are on their own and should reap whatever fate is dealt them from either their Christian Gods or even other humans for that matter. The only stipulation that I am compelled to add (and again others already know this so I apologize in advance) but, Christians are ordered to witness and spread the word in their Holy texts so I don't think they can really help it . So I don't think they can be held responsible and I liken it to a person being homosexual. I am really uncomfortable condemning or criticizing them for something they can't help.
77. Ay_Lamb , you think they can't help ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.06.09)
i not . They are'nt all spreading the word , only a small part of them are doing it , this paqid , rivkah are amongst them . And the majority not , so they can help it . Regarding this paqid , a self proclaimed convert who can't give any name of a True Orthodox Rabbi who considers him being Jewish , he is the most dangerous , hiding behind his fake "jewishness" , he preaches against the Rabbanim , and has only his yeshu in his tb's .
78. #77 Again you are correct and I should've
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (01.06.09)
constructed my talkback a little more thoroughly. As you say "many" do not proselytize but, I believe (in my opinion) that is either A). A righteous individual choice they make. or B). They are just spiritual but, not studious and are thus unaware that their scriptures require witnessing to non-believers. either way my personal choice is not to judge either them or homosexuals although of course I am merely human and I certainly do from time to time make rash bigoted statements that I later regret. I hope it is that regret (I feel) that gets recorded in the book of life. Okay I have have revealed enough of my personal beliefs and opened the door to criticism enough and I don't want to say anymore because I don't want to get my feelings hurt. hmm moral turpitude "my hypocrisy knows no bounds" V/R K"H
79. Rabbi Riskin
Jodie ,   Alexandria, VA USA   (01.09.09)
I know what the Torah says. However, I think that the Rabbi is saying that gays should not be turned away from temple because then their CHILDREN will not be there. Why should the children suffer for the parents sins?
80. To #75 Charles slander Paqid Yirmeyahu
Anders Branderud ,   Täby, Sweden   (01.09.09)
Try 2. Ynet didn’t publish my post the first time. Charles wrote 12.26.08: ” Those games are'nt the first such ones . If Tel Aviv , who has certainly a quantity of Gay and Lesbian athletes wants to organise their team , it's great , and shows that there are openminded people in our country .” Charles, the homosexuality-supporter, wrote this here in a talk-balk: http://www.ynetnews.com/Ext/App/TalkBack/CdaViewOpenTalkBack/1,11382,L-3644715,00.html Surely, Charles prove that he selectively practises Torah (=anti-Torah) by his support for homosexuality. תורה (Torah)‭ ‬ (תורה שבעל פה with תורה שבכתב) (oral Torah with written Torah) is indivisible and, therefore, may only be accepted or rejected in its entirety; never partially. Selective observance ≡ selective rejection of תורה-in-its-entirety. Therefore, rejection of even one מצוה (mitzwah; commandment) is rejection of תורה-in-its-entirety. Therefore: selective observance is an unequivocal rejection of תורה, not תורה observance! Charles rejects Torah. תורה (Torah) requires subordination to the בית דין (beit din)-system instituted by מֹשֶה בְפַּרְשַת יִתְּרוֹ (Mosheh in Parashah Yitro) and that the only legitimate בתי דין (batei din; that is beit din in plural) today are those that are successors to the בית דין (beit din) system instituted by משה בפרשת יתרו (Moshe in Parashah Yitro): the Orthodox בתי דין (batei din). Charles is not subordinated to an Orthodox Beit-Din. Charles opinions are of no value to anyone who does their utmost to practise Torah. Charles continues his slander against Paqid Yirmeyahu ha-Tzadiq regularly without giving any proof whatsoever. Charles I challenge you to quote anything anti-Torah from our website – there are none!! Charles cowardly slanders being anonymous! He don’t dare to publish his full name like a man! He is hiding under a rock! It’s a disgrace that Ynet continues to post Charles evil slander directed against the honourable Paqid Yirmeyahu ha-Tzadiq. Paqid Yirmeyahu ha-Tzadiq is an Orthodox Jew in good standing in Beit K'nesset Moreshet Avot in Ra'anana in Israel (Documentation se our website; in the “Israel Mall” in the left menu) since more than a decade. Charles is a slanderer and a liar. From Anders Branderud Geir Toshav, Netzarim (www.netzarim.co.il) Follower of pro-Torah and pro-Halakhah Ribi Yehoshua (the Messiah), in (meta)-Orthodox Judaism
81. RIVKAH 50AY Lamb
Jodie ,   Alexandria, VA USA   (01.09.09)
DUH! Those fires were all found to be started by ARSONISTS in california. Pull your head out of your hiney and read a paper.
82. Anders , your paqid is a FAKE guy !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.09.09)
If he is truly an Orthodox guy , why can't he give the name of a TRUE orthodox Rabbi who confirms his "conversion" . Your "honorable" paqid had "ministry of absorption" written as heading of his website , what is this if not to deceive people ? Calling your yehoshua the Maschiach is AGAINST all True Rabbanim . For TRUE Jews the Maschiach has still to come . And those promoting him are'nt Jewish nor Jews in their beliefs .
83. Anders Branderud
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.09.09)
Are you Jewish or a same kind of convert as this fake paqid , who's name isn't Jewish either . Charles is my official name , my Jewish name and family name are Jewish , 100 % , as i am . Regarding Homosexuality , as i'm not a believing person , Torah laws don't count for me . NO TRUE Orthodox Jew will accept your ribi yeshua as being the messias . The TRUE Maschiach has still to come for TRUE Jews . So both of you can't claim your are Jewish , as I am . Your "honorable" employee claims to be converted and that his conversion was accepted by Orthodox Rabbanim . But he can't give any name of a TRUE Orthodox Rabbi who accept him as being converted and being Jewish . I proposed once to your "honorable" guy to go to a Rabbinical court to let them judge . No answer of course as he does'nt accept Rabbanim , TRUE ones . If it was not to deceive people , why had he "ministry of absorption" as heading of his site ? Your "honorable" guy a tsaddik ? Don't make me laugh . Is your synagogue on the Official list of the Israeli Rabbanut ? Does your synagogue appear there ?
84. Another FAKE
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.10.09)
The letter shown on this paqid site is only a "accuse de reception" from a letter written by him . NOT signed by the head Rabbi as mentioned .
85. I don't want to take someone else's ideas
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.10.09)
It was another person , from London if my memory is OK , who challenged this paqid to appear at a Rabbinical court .
86. #81 why am I being mentioned with Rikvah?
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (01.10.09)
Rikvah apparently has been endowed with divine knowledge and has no apprehension; "standing in divine judgment" and implementing cherem against others. I on the other am uncomfortable with that sort of thing (in my thinking judgment is reserved for another; unless the actions of another are personally harming me) Thanks for clarifying your position opinion of m TBs.
87. Gays,Lesbians,Bisexuals & Transgenders
Hannah L. ,   Caracas, Venezuela   (01.11.09)
Will someone understand that homosexuality has nothing to do with sin and/or sickness? We´re using Internet:this is not the Middle Ages.
88. GLBT
Hannah L. ,   Caracas, Venezuela   (01.11.09)
They are NOT lifestyles. They are LIVES, human beings. SEXUAL DIVERSITY DOESN´T mean promiscuity. Not necesserily.Try some good old Freud, for a change.
89. Paqid , again deceiving
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.11.09)
This receipt for your letter to the Head Rabbinate , you say it's from Head Rav Elyahou , since today it can't be enlarged anymore . This prevents people to see what a deceiving liar you are . This letter i NOT signed by Head Rav Elyahou , and those blessings are a STANDARD formula . So certainly NOT aknowledging your "conversion"
90. Wonderful. Hope same acceptance of Reform, Reconstructionsis
Lil' Rab ,   USA (sometimes Isr.)   (01.13.09)
What a mensch. Hopefully, his recognition of our "subordination to... humaneness," and that "When such as large group of people wants to stay part of Judaism, the religious establishment must not ignore it," will be heard and adopted by the Israelis and the Orthodox establishment of their Rabbinute when they encounter Reconstructionist, Renewal, Reform and Conservative/Masorti Jews and their rabbis. These branches of the same tree of life deserve equal treatment in and by Israel (including equal funding and equal status in military and family law matters). At the very least, for those many Jewish Israelis whose spiritual needs are not met by the Orthodox establishment, isn't it better to make the vibrant Jewish wolrds of the other branches fully available to them rather than have them go off to India or Thailand and come back having left the Jewish community for a Hindu or Buddhist or other religion? If we were more accepting of our own diversity and allowed our young people - all of them - access to the full spectrum of what Judaism has to offer (including mysticism), perhaps our numbers would not continue dropping and those numbers (future families) might even grow. HaShem is not so small that S/He fits into only one, narrow experience/expression/way of practicing or praying. Think about it. Limiting G-d, or closing ourselves off to G-d's myriad manifestatoins is not the Jewish Way (i.e., Ha Lecha).
