1. Hey Mr Bush Isrel is not listening
Jim ,   USA   (01.03.09)
and neither is Hamas
2. A ceasefire
JD ,   NY   (01.03.09)
only serves to stop the real solution to the problem and that is to wipe out the enemy. Unfortunately, in this case there is no other solution. Dead men don't fight back, problem solved. GO ISRAEL!
3. wash your face baby
safia ,   khan yunis   (01.03.09)
when you awake in the morning . and go to bath room before you go to bed .now i have no son to tell him he was killed so i tell it to bush as advice not order
4. Hold on one moment
Lior ,   Israel   (01.03.09)
Bush is working the phones is he? Did you see with whom? Ask yourselves are these our friends of Israel to whom he is working the phones? Furthermore, why call for a truce at all? If Hamas is supposedly a terrorist organization they MUST BE CRUSHED. NO CEASE FIRE OF ANY KIND. Here lies the rub: Is the truce for Israel OR for those with whom Bush is working the phones??? And what about our beloved son Galid Shalit?? All I can say is wake up Israel. Our supposed friends talk from both sides of their mouths. Israel can not crush Hamas and have a truce at the same time. Matter of fact all the sanitizing cleanser in the world will not absolve the virulent hate from the very souls of Hamas. Crush them I say.........!
5. Bush, read my lips: It's not over till WE say it's over !!!!
(01.03.09)
6. Another res. 1701?
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.03.09)
Will we make the same mistake as in S. Lebanon? Who will be the monitoring force? The EU (not our friend), the UN (definitely an enemy), how about Arab forces (worse yet)? Olmert, Livni, & Barak cannot change - the serial bunglers will bungle it up again. And if you think this is Bush's idea, think again - this stupid idea comes from our cabinet. This mini-military operation was destined to fail before it started.
7. Something smells like dead fish in the hot son
Hanna ,   Israel   (01.03.09)
I'll tell you why? If President Bush and his side kick Condi called for a cease-fire-truce with Al Qaeda and the Taliban that would indeed give them the right to ask Israel for a cease-fire-truce with Hamas. But folks, it is not that way, is it? Every now and then we see the US bombing both Al Qaeda and the Taliban back to the dark ages. How many lives of unfortunate civilians/human shields are taken in those strikes? It boils down to the fact if Bush and his side kick Condi call Hamas a terrorist entity why then must it be different for us then for them? Why are Al Qaeda, Taliban and Hamas any different?? A cease-fire between Israel and Hamas indeed would placate ie: appease those who we or the US have no business placating. Bingo! This is why we sadly see the US stance on Iran now softened up. This is why the US calls Abbas a 'man of peace' even after Abbas went to Beirut to visit avowed Jew Killer Samir Kuntar. Even with the Fatah charter unchanged. 1 + 1 = 2 fin.
8. Mr. Bush you are a very "lame duck"!
(01.03.09)
These are the final dog days of your presidency please do sit down and be quiet!
9. Only a Government without Hamas and fatah afiliation...
Psalms 83 ,   Selah   (01.03.09)
will have a chance of implimenting a true peace.... a peace (Hudna) with Hamas will sooner or later breakdown ... Hamas proponents do not believe in a true peace.
10.  It Aint Over Until Fat Lady Sings
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (01.03.09)
This war is dragging on and on.Will Gilad Shalit be released? Will rocket fire finally stop? Do not stop until these things are achieved otherwise the whole exercise was in vain.
11. Historical consciousness is necessary in order to fathom ...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.03.09)
Historical consciousness is necessary in order to fathom what Hamas is doing. The symbols that Hamas uses, from the Qur'an, from the Hadith, and from later Christian anti-Jewish literature, all point towards a continuation of the original jihad. This is hard for Westerners to understand, but this is what the fight means to Hamas. They are completing the work that Muhammad started. It is not something about which they can compromise. And international condemnation of Israel only gives it more power. More about the spirit of Jihad at : http://xrl.us/bebdoa
12. Cease fire ?
Sagi ,   Israel   (01.03.09)
What purpose will this serve ? None. Who will benefit by it ? Neither side. Nothing short of total capitulation, total destruction of all terrorist infrastructures, and last but not least, abandonment of the ideology propogated by the Hamas either by their own decision or by their elimination. These three conditions are axiomatic to enable a solution. Anything else is patchwork and will fall apart and lead to even greater problems in the future. It takes men of great stature to understand this. There are none of these about today, neither in Israel nor in America. It takes men of Churchillian measure to act in accordance with the gravity of the situation. They are few and far between.
13. Its about time....
Yasser (Hezbollah) ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (01.03.09)
This fool is thrown into the trash bin of history.
14. bush and 'ceasefire'
elliot ,   usa   (01.03.09)
he is saying no unilateral ceasefire-he has been tougher than israel on hamas lately because he knowes it was wrong to have elections there after all--gazans voted for what they are getting and you will miss bush!
15. Jewish voting for Obama; good negative but false positive
observer   (01.03.09)
80% of Jewish Americans voted for Obama; those 80% only voted because Obama was inevitably coming = false positive vote. Had Jews known that Obama had query chance of winning, the would haven't voted him = good negative vote. Either ways, Jewish vote is useless unless they falsely use it as powerful loopier!
16. #15, buy a history book
Danny   (01.03.09)
American Jews have ALWAYS voted in overwhelming numbers for democrats. No republican president has EVER got more than 30% of the vote. PS waiting for that spokesman name, drinks on me.
17. Here comes the next resolution 1701
zionist forever   (01.03.09)
If Olmert agrees to a ceasefire now without sending in the ground troops we will have spent billions of shekels for Lebanon 2. Last time the politicians wouldn't agree to the demands of the generals on the ground and send in more infantry till the very end instead they were convinced the war cold be won with air power and as we all saw it couldn't. Now to avoid casualties so close to an election Olmert Livni and Barak don't want to listen to the generals and send in troops all we have done is make alot destroyed alot of Hamas government builldings which if your preparing for a ground invasion makes sense if thats where your going to end it then its all been a waste of money because they will rebuild. Some of their weapon supplies have been destroyed and so have some of their tunnels but Hamas have shown in the past they are expert tunnel diggers and brining in fresh weaponry is no big deal so what have we acomplished ? We will have a new ceasefire based on the same sort of terms as Hamas laid down for the 6 month hunda which was negotiated on Hamas terms last time because Olmert & Barak were trying to avoid and election now it looks like we are going to do it again. There is no such thing as a ceasefire which Hamas can't choose to break at will. They won't accept international troops running Gaza and why should international troops even take over, they don't want Fatah back. Hamas will rebuild paid ( buildings and smuggling tunnels ) for with international donations and us opening the borders as our part of the ceasefire agreemet and when they are ready to go back to being freedom fighters again they will break the truce and say we are entiled to change our mind. All because they didn't want to risk casualties becase there was an election in 5 weeks in Israel and another 3 weeks of Condoliza Rice in the US. We are going to be left looking like the same idiots we did after Lebanon runing away before the fight is finshed and then accepting 1701.
18. every shekel the IDF should be spend on teachers
zionist forever   (01.03.09)
They provide a valuable service and help the country. THE IDF can give us firework shows and give the ilusion they are there to defend the country but it is just an ilusion because they will never be used win a war. Today frst sign of a political solution we will jump at it. When your not going to use the IDF to win wars why spend billions on them when you can give the teachers a decent living wage for doing something useful.
