OK, I too am a totally secular Jew and totally for separation of Synagogue and State. Also, there are many "not so educated" Israelis who are also secular and your discriminatory comment is a bit out of line. However, you are losing site of the reason for the creation of the State of Israel. The land was created as a home for the Jewish people who had been decimated by the Holocaust and who have been persecuted through the ages. If the country was just "a country" with no affiliation to our beliefs and traditions then why have a State of Israel at all? We cannot allow ourselves to forget what has been done to us in the past and to protect ourselves from from it even happening again. Yes, a Secular Jewish State would be the best but regrettable will probably never happen. Having worked with many Arabs over the last 20 years I cannot agree with you on the Arabs not "feeling connected". They have adapted very well and use and abuse the welfare that this country hands out just as well as their loyal Israeli counterparts. What is unforgivable regarding the Israeli Arab community is that they side with the very people who would destroy us and take away the democratic nature and the basic freedoms that do NOT exist in most of the Arab world.

The only thing to add is that Russia, a member of the "Quartet", is arming Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and probably Al Qaeda with the rockets fired at our people.
