5. Our failure on the Medias front.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.04.09)
One reason for our t failure is that we do not show the murderous nature of our enemies - how the suicide bombers' mothers took such pride in them, their kindergartens that educate towards killing Jews, and how they named their streets and football teams after the murderers, and the like... But the main reason for our failure is that Israel has abandoned the hasbara [public relations] front. Shimon Peres said after Oslo that hasbara is no longer necessary in Europe... 6. Mr. Mayor, we appreciate it but .....
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.04.09)
I think Israel would be better served if you and the other leaders of the Jewish communities all over the world were putting pressure on the pro-Arab TV media like CNN, FOXNews Channel, SkyNews and so on to be more objective. We know that the Arab world has made big investments in these companies but, I am sure, that AIPAC and prominent Jews could persuade them to at least give us a fair hearing! Mr. Mayor, on the Propaganda Front we are, once again, losing the battle big time!
7. With People like this??
John ,   USA   (01.04.09)
Does the world really deserve people like this? Bloomberg is proving to be a mentally ill man if he thinks Israel is being good by treating the folks that they are slaughtering. Is this really what it has come down to? One country uses sophisiticated weaponry to cut apart folks who throw rocks and use donkeys to move things around and the Palestinian's are the terrorists? What framing. Know this... the majority of the folks on the planet see through this baffoonery. How SAD is it when this activity continues to reverberate around the globe time and again. Just awful.
8. #7It does not matter if you are from Europe,Usa,or Israel
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (01.04.09)
It does not matter if you are John or Yosh or what ever, because you will always be that same unbright person, driven by no sense. Only those giving solutions to problems are relevant to humanity;those whinning are just things that come and pass and do not make any difference out of eventually spreading evil, just to be fought. You know...a kind of necessary exercice to good people. You should be usefull somehow, after all..
9. To John #7: Your anti-Semitism is showing!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.04.09)
The weaponry used by Hamas is the same as the primitive weaponry used by Al Qaeda, the Taliban and the "militants" in Iraq and have we noticed that the USA takes them out with primitive "Stealth" Bombers! There is a difference though. Israel has been attacked for the lat 60 years by the Arab Muslim world which numbers 1.5 billion. Israel's population is 7.4 million. Quite a disparity don't you think? Also, check out the Iraqi Body Count site. The USA and its allies have KILLED more than 90,000 civilians and the Iraqi people never attacked the USA! John, if you hate Jews, and I am sure your do, then clean up your house before throwing stones at ours. We might respond by sending you a mirror so you can see the donkey you are!
10. To Robert #5: You are right about the PR but ....
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.04.09)
Actually, Gold Meir was the first who said that Israel doesn't have to apologize for anything and Shimon Peres, who does a great job with our PR, although he is more popular abroad than here in Israel, is no longer the left wing laborite that he used to be. The problem is that we can scream our point of view from the roof tops but the TV and other media has huge investments by Arab Saudi princes and they dictate to Time Warner,NewsCorp and others what they want to see on the "Box". A good example of this pressure is that SkyNews does not use the word "terrorist" even when Israel is not involved. In the recent Mumbai terrorist attacks SkyNews, CNN and others referred to the perpetrators as "militants" and not "terrorists". Apparently, only "militants" is allowed by Newscorp! Maybe some of our American Talkbackers would like to take this up with the news channels. The Brits we know won't do a thing!
