61.  ARE PACTS ARE WORTHLESS?
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (01.05.09)
IF EVERY PACT CAN BE RE-EVALUATED,WHAT IS THE USE OF A PACT?
62. I'm reevaluating my ties with Jordan also.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (01.05.09)
Stay out of the United States. Keep terrorism where it belongs.......in your own petty country.
63. Abdullah, how many palestinians did your father kill?
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (01.05.09)
I believe the numbers go into several thousands, ey?
64. 70% of the British Mandate of Palestine.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (01.05.09)
70% of the British Mandate of Palestine was east of the Jordan river -- nowadays called the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which became independent (from British rule) in May 1946. The Kingdom of Jordan is 89,300 square km (45,400 sq mile) with a population of ONLY 6,2 million. And compare that with Israel’s. Israel is 29,270 square km (11,300 sq mile) with a population of 7,1 million. SO, there is PLENTY of land in the Kingdom of Jordan to house the 2,3 million Arabs living in Judea & Samaria, nowadays known as the West Bank. (In comparison : the Kingdom of Jordan, being three times the size of Israel, can easily accommodate 22 million people -- now they have ONLY 6,2 million people.) “The Jordanians reserves the right to re-evaluate” -- Israel should ALSO re-evaluate what happened in May 1946. MEANING : send ALL the Arabs from Judea & Samaria to their HOMELAND, namely the Kingdom of Jordan, which was especially created for them.
65. I support closing the Israeli Embassy in Amman
Jordanian American   (01.05.09)
As a Dual Jordanian American Citizen, I support ending American Aid to Israel and I support closing the Israeli Embassy in Amman. Israel never grows up. They still live in World War II mentality.
66. double standard: what about Nahr el Bared
Don ,   California, USA   (01.05.09)
Lebanese forces demolished the Nahr el Bared camp near Tripoli and the Jordanians look in the other direction. Now Hamas develops a hangnail and the King is in full boo-hoo mode, most likely for internal consumption in his country.
67. Jordan wants Hamas destroyed!
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (01.05.09)
Talk of anything else is simply for internal consumption and the same goes for Egypt. Leaders in both countries are delighted to see Hamas getting decimated. Mike
68. Palestinians should make Alya to Jordan
David ,   Israel   (01.05.09)
69. #11 Jordanian Fanatics
EgyptJewRefugee ,   Geneva, Switzerland   (01.05.09)
#11 Problem is that Jordanians don't think with their "brains." It's OK to terrorise 1 million Jews with rockets. Hashemite Monarchy owes its existence on Israel. Jews are not even allowed to bring religious praying items into Jordan. Racists.
70. all bluster
leslie ,   toronto   (01.05.09)
It's all bluster to placade their rabid citizens. But for a change, Israel should call their bluff and suggest sending all the Pals, including Hamas to Jordan.
71. The Hashemites are the strangers
Leah ,   Israel   (01.05.09)
The little Hashemite king should keep his big mouth shut. he knows he does not belong in Jordan, was imported by the British. Jordan occupies 78% of the mandate and has a palestinian population of 75% of the people. Jordan IS Palestine. The Jordanian State of Palestine should absorb ALL Palestinians to live there. Two state solution Israel and The Jordanian State of Palestine. Simple.
72. Silver Lining
D ,   EU   (01.05.09)
It seems like we live in a time where we are all confronted with the fact that the world, including the Middle East is one big cocktail of culture and values based on a variety of belief systems and we are just not sure which will prevail. It seems that the majority of the people in the world want to respect basic human rights. The truth on what is right for most is always somewhere in the middle and it seems like the conflict will help bring us there. It you look at the silver lining, each culture has something to offer so let's take the cream of the crop and try and build a more cooperative existence. If there is some middle ground, perhaps more will join versus the extremes. However, I believe that we absolutely must be united as a civilized world to fight extreme ideologies that have no acceptence and tolerance for others. This is clearly evident in islamic extremism and it has no place in the modern world. Good luck to civilized countries that try to put a stop to it and I really do trust that these countries do as much as they can on the humanitarian side. Just one question: Where is CNN & friends concerning all the atrocities in Africa? Why not cover the stories of kidnapped boys ages 10-14 on the borders of Ethiopia by Muslim extremists from Sudan in an effort to convert their minds?
73. Jordan is 75 percent of mandate palestine
trumpeldor   (01.05.09)
they may absorb arabs from gaza nad judea samaria as well 1922 San Remo agreements were very clear :Whole Palestine for JEWISH home Ok ,facts on the ground---->we will rule from mediteranean to jordan river
74. us needs to reevaluate their foreign aid for jordan.
harry lavoe ,   oc usa   (01.05.09)
Jordan wouldn't half the craphole it is without the usa and its ally israel. CHeck yourself before you wreck yourself jordan.
75. Jordan's lands are Saudi Arabia
Airborne ,   Jerusalem   (01.05.09)
Hashemite Dynasty Shows the Flag at Gulf of Aqaba which bears testimony to the huge importance of symbols in the Middle East. The new-old Hashemite flag hoisted so dramatically over Aqaba therefore carries a threefold statement, one that will register most immediately with Jordan's close neighbor, Saudi Arabia. That flag is a symbolic re-statement that the Hashemite claim to the Gulf and Hijaz lands on its eastern coast remains in force. Aqaba and Kuwait are the two key transit ports for merchandise bound for Iraq. The flag may be interpreted as a message that the Hashemite branch which once ruled Baghdad has not relinquished its claim there either.
76. LET jORDAN OPEN THEIR BORDERS!
steve ,   usa   (01.05.09)
I think the King is correct and he should have opne borders as well for the Palestinians (who are really Jordanian rejects who they did not let back after the 1967 war). He should allow them to cross through open borders into Jordan at any time. He would not do that, becasue he does not want terrorists in his country. Let Egypt opne their borders. They wont do it. Only Israel, who Hamas has sworn to destroy should open their borders to their sworn enemy! This world is simply absurd! The entire wirld is ganging up on Israel who is fighting in self defense. Tell me, what would the USA do if rockets were fired from Mexico into Texas, California, or Arizona? They would wipe Mexico off the face of the map after the FIRST rocket. Israel has been patient for 3 years! Wake up people!
77. #11 Abdallah and Jordanian economy ;)
Josef ,   switzerland   (01.05.09)
You know i still recall the first and only Jordanian Defence Fair in Amann when you had to pay the exhibitors to come at all ;) And i still recall that you had quite some problems to pay off the Invoice of Schuberth Helme GmbH from Germany for a several hundret infantry helmets ;) You are a clown and your country is a joke surviving mainly cause of the protection of Medinat Israel and the Mossad. The Royal family would not exist today without the protection of Israel. So, just shut up and go back into your Bedouin tent.
