3. Napoleon syndrome.
Talula ,   Israel   (01.05.09)
The insignificant spec of dirt in Tehran will do anything and destroy anyone to cling onto his totalitarian regime. He clearly suffers from an extreme case of Napoleon syndrome.
4. Iran and the M-E.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.05.09)
The most disruptive force in the Israeli-Arab conflict is Iran. Yet international attention is focused on Israel. The pressure on Iran to contain its nuclear program is totally ineffectual, but it is at least visible. There is no international pressure at all on Iran to withdraw its tentacles from the Palestinian territories, and to stop using Hamas and Hezbollah to torpedo any movement towards peace barely as soon as it begins. Meanwhile all the pressure in the world on Israel is not going to halt the forces trying to destroy it and push the world towards a global catastrophe whose reach will far exceed the Middle East. 5. Israel and the West want to see a Free Iran
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (01.05.09)
An Iran, democratic and free of the rule of the mullahs, is a natural ally to the West and to Israel. Resources now dedicated to weapons of mass destruction, the Revolutionary Guards and terror groups like Hizbullah and Hamas could be dedicated to building Iran into the great nation it can be. Only then will be begin to see the New Middle East. I look forward to the day when Iran and Israel can work together again, as they did until the revolution. I spent time in Iran in 1976, and would like to do so again one day.
6. Arabs & Jews fighting is in Iran's strategic interest
IRAN#1   (01.05.09)
Iran will make sure the 2 sides will be fighting for a long long time and also make sure both sides lose. If the 2 sides are naive enough to fall for this for so long, you can not blame the wiley Persans to take advantage of them.
7. Iran and Gaza

8. Iran's real problem
Joel Schaffer ,   Belleair Bluffs, FL   (01.06.09)
With the current cost of crude oil Iran cannot fund Hamas, Hezbollah or it's own domestic Nuclear program. Iran cannot even fund it's own economy let alone all of their "pet' terrorist programs.... If the price of crude stays where it is or continues to drop it is only a matter of time before it brings about real change in Iran. We can only hope that this is the case.
9. as long as it drives up the price of crude oil
Joel Schaffer ,   Belleair Bluffs, FL   (01.06.09)
as long as it drives up the price of crude oil which is how Iran funds it's "pet terrorist projects" like their domestic nuke program, Hamas & Hezbollah with current crude pricing Iran cannot restock Hamas..the longer the fighting goes on the weaker Hamas will become time is on Israel's side in this current Gaza situation
