pretentious writing from an egotistic personality. My dad used to say talk is cheap, but money buys whisky. If she is so concerned, perhaps she will send a nice fat cheque to the children in ashkelon/sederot

8. dear Noa
ahmad ,   Nablus   (01.08.09)
the common enemy is those Zionists who came to my land and ethncleansed my people from our homeland: Palestine. such enemy who uprooted Jews from around the world and brought them here as colonists treating us as nothing. the enemy is sitting at your government's house: Olmert & company from Ben Gorion till now the same people who refused and still to allow my people to live like any human in their homeland. The enemy my dear Noa is those fascists in your society, and there are many, who do want to "encourage" the Palestinians to leave Israel, those ones who stole our lands, fields, and homes, those who do not stop killing and spinning the murder of 50 children and their moms, yesterday, at an UNRWA school, a charge was denied by the UN's chief in Gaza. the enemy, Noa, is not your extermists nor ours, it is the Sher ideology that prompted your Rabin (and his companion Perez) to ethnicleans tens of thousands of Palestinians from and around Yaffa in 1948. you want peace? then jion those who oppose Zionism and join me in the struggle to create a one state for all based on human values, democracy and equality. Only then those "extremists" will disappear when the cause vanish. No thanks, I will have my coffee with those who share my dream
9. Gazans
Marilyn ,   USA   (01.08.09)
She seems like a lovely lady. Since it may be a long time before a truce, one thing that I was thinking is that it would be a good thing to set up safe areas for civilians. Could put metal detectors at entrances, with soldiers, etc. This could also serve as a makeshift hospital area, and meal site. Good for public relations and all.
10. She "doesn't believe" those who yell "Itbah al Yahud"
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (01.08.09)
I wonder if she believes that the gas chambers in Auschwitz were really just showers? Some idiots in this world just refuse to be convinced...

For once, she is saying something intelligent.
13. To #2 David: Well said!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.08.09)
The Palestinians in Gaza voted in a democratic election and chose Hamas knowing full well that the Hamas Charter calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and "the killing of Jews". By supporting Hamas and accepting the misery that Hamas has brought on them proves that the Gazans, contrary to "politically correct" statements, ARE the enemy! 1.5 million people can throw out a few thousand fanatics with ease if the want to! They obviously don't.
14. Dear Noa,
Omani Arab ,   Muscat, Oman   (01.08.09)
Dear Noa, Fanaticism exits on both sides. The source of Fanaticism is the Israeli Occupation of Palestanian lands. End Israeli occupation, create opportunity for peace to exist, and you will auotmatically eradicate fanaticism & violence on both sides.

Ram ,   London   (01.08.09)
How do you know she has not sent cheques to Ashkelon, Ashdod, Sderot etc? You should be ashamed of yourself! Here is an internationally influential person whose patriotism is beyond question dedicating herself to do good and all you do is criticise her. Noa is probably one of the humblest artist in existence. Learn to give credit where credit is due.

25. Open letter to Noa
no to war ,   Haifa, northern Pal   (01.08.09)
Noa, it was zionism, not hamas that brought us to where we are. It was the state of israel that put Gaza in this position. Hamas is not hiding behind people nor in mosques, that is lies lies lies, why are you repeating lies? will you tell the Palestinians in Gaza what they already know is not the truth? who will believe you there when they see very clearly that is israel that is bombing their houses, schools, mosques and hospitals under a false pretext claiming hamas was hiding there. THEY ARE NOT STUPID. and they do not yell death to jews, they yell death to israel and with that they mean death to zionism, the same zionism that brought in settlers from all over the world while the native palestinians were kicked out and the remaining ones were occupied and opressed and besieged. Stop the hypocrisy Noa, you can not claim to be for peace when you without any shame lie about hamas and blame them for what the zionists state of israel is doing.
26. Fanaticism is the enemy...uhm...what?
Ryan ,   Jerusalem   (01.08.09)
Has it been fanatic Jews who have been lobbing rockets into Gaza? Yes, there is such a thing as fanaticism among Jews, but they are no one's enemy. The only enemy is Radical Islam...not the Jews. Believe me, if the arabs ever truly desire peace then EVERY single Jew (including the "fanatics" will come running to the table). So, dear Noa, even though you mean well, do not be so apologetic for your people and morally confused. The Jews are not to blame in this Gaza war. Only Hamas and the people who support them are to blame, no one else. And while innocent arab civilians are killed, it is a small price to pay to root out the cancer of radical Islam that is on our doorstep. I have pity for the arab civilians, but I value my own family more. It's just human nature to protect your own family first. Only the arabs themselves can help their own people. It is not the Jewish responsibility any more. We have extended are hand in peace too many times. There is a time for peace and a time for war....now, unfortunately, it is the time for war.
27. Sadly, the proof is in the Muslim talkbacks
Roscio ,   Rome, Italy   (01.08.09)
Not a single Muslim respondent agrees - they are all blaming Israel, Zionism and Jews for everything, while Islam and their terrorist regimes are faultless. The strength of Israel and of Jews is that we have this freedom of expression and the gift of introspection, the right to disagree. These concepts are alien to the Islamic world and perceived as weaknesses. This is one reason why Islam will ultimately fail, not only in this, its final bid for global domination, but also as a religion. This sick, obsessive mindset inculcated by Islamic methodology is the reason they pray to a god of Hate and Death, and why they will crumble from within as soon as the free world gives up its dependency on petroleum.
28. Hello Noa
kad ,   Germany   (01.08.09)
You write very well but you have to know the root of this problem.Lets look at the situation religiously.Israel has been the Land of the jews for thousand of years and it should remain so. Lets look at the situation politically. If Israel should be and dismantle for a so-call palestinian state, then the Americans should give the land back to the Indians , the Canadians should give back the Land to the Inuwit and the Australians should do the same I guess. The Arabs rejected the 1948 UN Process and vowed to destroy the back then young jewish state. The entire world stood by and watch as the Arab legions ascendend on poor Israel and no country came to their assistance. The Arabs have lost every possible war to annialate the jews and now they wanna call the shots in Israel . Imagine the Americans and British taking commands from the Germans after WW2.
29. Beautiful sentiments...but completely misplaced
Rachel ,   USA   (01.08.09)
If you think that the gazans only say those things because they "have to", you could not be more wrong. They elected Hamas. Hamas campaigned on terror, using videos of a suicide bomber's mother praising his actions as a campaign video. They got what they wanted. You can say you don't believe them, but you do a grave disservice to all Jews everywhere when you refuse to believe the confessions of their would-be murderers. Just like Hitler could not be negotiated with, no matter how lofty your sentiments, so too these terrorists cannot be negotiated with. Either Israel or the terrorists and their supporters will prevail; there is no middle ground. Those that try to stake a claim in the middle end up caught in the crossfire. Your heart is in the right place, but your head is not. Save your pity for your people, who are not looking to exterminate anyone, but simply trying to live in peace.
30. "Palestinian brothers". No chance.
Jake   (01.08.09)
The Palestinians are not our brothers. At best, they can be regarded as Israel's neighbors, yet time and time again they have demonstrated that their main order of business is the annihilation of Israel. This is not the behavior of a brother. This was not even the behavior of Esau toward Jacob. Israel gives gifts to its enemies and turns its back on its brothers. The Druze, who entered into a "convenant of blood" with the Jews even before 1948 and fought and died for the peace and security of Israel, are our brothers. I will never forget the last defender of Joseph's Tomb, the Druze soldier Madhat Yusef, who bled to death while Arafat refused to allow his evacuation and Barak deferred to Arafat. The SLA were steadfast allies of Israel from the day they were founded in 1978 until the Israeli withdrawal and even today, where the children of their largely-forgotten veterans struggle to find their place within Israeli society as Israelis. I will never forget the SLA veteran family who steadfastly remained in their homes in Kiryat Shemona in 2006 during the Hizbullah bombardment, even after most of the town had fled. Israel has shamefully turned its back on these people, while showering gifts upon its avowed enemies, Hamas, Hizbullah, the PLO, and countless others, whose meteoric rise has occurred entirely at Israel's expense. When will Israel ever learn that the conflict with these foes is a zero sum game?
