For ever Kassam or Grad Hamas has ever launched, Israel should fire back a Hellfire missile with an occasional bunker-buster thrown in. Sounds fair to me...

This bombing is a shame, and killing 40 people a slaughter. If there were actually a Hamas'mortar, and if Tsahal has a video as proof, it could have been enough to file a suit before UN. Why have taken the risk to kill 40 civilians, and to wound much more ? Was there a so strategic target to justify that bombing ? By using blindly its weapons, Tsahal takes the risk of the international resentment. That does not strengthen Israel' moral weight.

Sorry to see these children killed due to these inhumans hamas terrorist. Sometime i'm wondering if such a missfire can reach this blue building next to east side river in NY ?

Who of sound mine would send their children to school in the middle of a war zone. Sounds like Hamas rounded the children up and made them go knowing that this would happen if they were launching mortar attacks from the school. Don.t let up on them Israel

The last time the UN acted with a mininum of impartiality towards Israel was also the first - the partition of British Palestine, in 1947. Since then, it's been siding with the worst enemies of the Jewish state, blaming Israel for everything bad that happens and deeming Palestinians as poor, inocent, always the victims. Remembering the infamous vote 'sionism = racism', back in 1975, and the Durban conference on racism, is enough to prove the point - not to mention the UN envoys to the Middle East, is seems that the organization chooses it personnel based on anti-semitic, anti-Israel bias: the more rabid, the better qualified the candidate!

It's time Israel stopped acting like a punching bag. Don't be a wuss. The UN has a lot to answer for.

the video of hamas using the school as an area from which to shoot from must be relentlessly publicized, and israel should file not only a complaint, but a lawsuit or some high profile legal action. even though it is ridiculous to file such a thing and a waste of time in any ordinary period of time, attention will be drawn to the facts behind the lawsuit - that hamas used a school as a place to hide, and the fact that a complaint was filed will put it as a 'fait accompli' that it is a 'warcrime'.

Pay it no heed, Olmert-Livni-Barak. Keep the pressure on Hamas to maximize likelihood of a lengthy hudna. Do not forebear!

How dumb is Israel in choosing to remain in an organization whose supreme goal is the destruction of the nation? How dumb are Israeli politicians to stay in this Utopian Nightmare? And, this idea that Israel is trying to sell, that the civilians in Gaza are being "held hostage" by Hamas, is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard in my life. EVER!!!! Those "civilians" voted for Hamas and chose all-out war with Israel. To call them hostages of the government they chose is idiotic. The UN behaves like an asylum that's being run run by the inmates. Why bother to file a complaint? Let's ignore this assembly of failures and move on. (e.g. After the Entebbe hostage-rescue mission Uganda filed an UN complaint against Israel for violating Uganda's airspace and sovereignty, which was lauded by then UN Secretary General Kurt Waldheim. If someone has a gun aimed at you and nowhere to go are you going to the police after he shoots you and hope you dont die or shoot him with the gun you have. This is war. It seems hard to believe, but the Samouni family appears to have been collected into a house which was then blown up killing up to 60 people. If it is true that some of the people in the UN School had been moved (via those humanitarian notices) to the school, and then it was blown up, Israel is clearly masacering the population in GAZA. Is any of it true? We havve no way of knowing without independent news media, but I suspect that the international media is being kept out because the IDF is engaged in indiscriminant fire, and collecting civilians in houses which they then blow up. (Brave soliders indeed!)
