''Proof of life'' is not enough. Only his safe release should be up for discussion. Without his release, we should stone-wall all discussions of a ceasefire - his release is a PRE-CONDITION for negotiations. If we don't play hardball, Shalit will die in captivity. And aside from the purely humanitarian issue of his release & our obligation to do everything possible to secure his unconditional release, this will be a clear sign that Hamas has lost, has been defeated, a major objective of the military operation.
