6. Abbas has 0 power in Gaza
Danny   (01.07.09)

7. Very good first step but needs thorough study and lots of
meir elazar   (01.07.09)
work and in 2 to 3 years I am sure that they will have a proposal ready for our consideration. But in the meantime the UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER of SHALIT and cessation of all rocket fire must occur before we even consider a ceasefire.
8. Huh?
Gideon Reader   (01.07.09)
Egypt & France say that an accord has been reached with the Palestinians for a "cease fire/hudna/truce? Pardon me, but I thought Israel was casting lead in the directions of Hamas in Gaza, NOT towards BooBoo Abbas's jokerim in wherever it is that they call "headquarters" these days. So then if Israel stops killing and breaking the stuff of Hamas, who is killing and torturing and stealing the stuff of Abas's merry U.S./U.N. funded, armed and trained morons, the war is over? What? does any of that make sense to "real people", not associated with "Diplodunks" of whatever nation they happen to be associated with. Any you wondered how the "Oil for food" scam came about.
9. Hizbollah Rescue PART II
Marcel ,   Florida   (01.07.09)
Another disaster of Israeli proportions. Once agian a worthless ceasefire which rexscues Israel's enemies before the IDF can claim victory When are the people of ISRAEL going to figure out that this is very bad for Israel's immediate future ? The Israeli public has a penchant of electing fools to lead them. Fools hwo always fall into the trap laid for them by the International community . Once again the losers of Israel fail to finish the job and allow a gropu whose charter is the estermination to survive and rearm for another more brrrrrrutal war. To trust the international community after what they have allowed Hizbollah to do is more than just stupid of Olmert,L.ivni and Barak ,it is evil and they should be held acountable along with everyone who pushed for the removal of Jews from Gaza . They are rsponsible for this Hamas takeover and this war as they will be for the Hamas missiles that will kill many more Israeli citizens bwcausr the fell for a worthless ceasefire pushed bhy those who came to rescue Hamas from the IDF.
10. Hamas has shown how much it cares for the people
Jo   (01.07.09)
and they will get no votes. The PA has a chance now to show the world that they can run and build a country, one of peace, tolerance, freedom from tyranny, freedom of religion. We have been waiting a long time to see if this is possible. Prove the world you can do it. Hamas has only proved that it cares for itself and is more like Hezbollah than anything else.
11. Hamas: We'll Kill You Later
David Samson ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.07.09)
Destroy them now. They are surrounded and on the ropes. If you let them go, their campaign to exterminate you will continue and you'll face Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran later - when they're fully ready. Fight to win.
12. Israel cannot take it anymore
Zyriab ,   MontrĂ©al   (01.07.09)
Israel has to surrender to reality ... Hamas & Hezbollah are the new realities...Wake up!
13. #1 Not it's not you, it's me as well!
Talula ,   Israel   (01.07.09)
Israel won't negotiate with Hamas the terrorists - and Hamas won't talk to the PA. So can someone explain what's going on here?
14. Please forgive the length...this must be said
Susan ,   Israel   (01.07.09)
ll I can say is if Israel does not throw the current leadership to the wind I am not sure about future survival. Egypt to date has done little if anything to stop the weapons tunnels from their soil to Gaza. How Israel can accept an Egyptian led plan considering Egypt is an accomplice to terror blows my mind. All this spearheaded by a Frenchmen afraid of the Muslims in his country and led by the U.S (Bush and Rice) who talk from both sides of their mouths who on one hand cries about safety of Israel while on the other side within this cease-fire calls upon opening Gaza borders to West Bank. ALL BEFORE HAMAS IS FINISHED FOR GOOD! Worse, not a damn word about cease-fire dependent on releasing Gilad Shalit. (not from Israel or the international brokers of this cease-fire) No wonder there are so many draft evaders in Israel. Who would want to serve knowing this government cares more for appeasing international leaders (who care little for Israel) then for their soldiers? Why would someone want to serve knowing when they go in risking their lives the job of finishing the enemy is not allowed because the world and weak Israeli leaders say NO.
15. interesting logic, yet again
Petero ,   Toronto Canada   (01.07.09)
The hamas representative dismisses the truce deal that Israel has accepted, and then stats that Israel's objective is to gain time to continue the offensive. Well Hamdan, nothing gives Israel more time to continue, more than your rejecting the truce deal. The reality Hamdan, is that I believe Israel agreed to the truce knowing Hamas would reject it, because Hamas cannot accept defeat, and they would have lost much in this truce including face, with the Palestinian people who have lost so much, yet again.
16. For what
eli ,   jerusalem   (01.07.09)
we have to think about such trash if we watch the headlines. Hamas rep in Lebanon: Egyptian-French initiative unacceptable Published: 01.07.09, 15:43 / Israel News Osama Hamdan, a Hamas representative in Lebanon, said that the Egyptian-French Gaza Strip ceasefire initiative is unacceptable and that new ideas should be discussed. Hamdan said, "There is no need to get excited over the Israeli agreement that was published. Israel's objective is to gain time in order to continue its attack." (Ali Waked) -there is realy no need to wast time until the Hamas stops existing.
17. to #12 --
X   (01.07.09)
Israel can conquer Gaza but it does not want to... israel wants to weaken Hamas and produce an arrangement where by its rearmament proses will be slowed considerably and to that aim Israel is succeeding
18. Hamas NEVER HONORED any TALK EVER.
YITZAK BEN SHLOMO ,   singapore   (01.07.09)
This Talk is at the EXPENSE of Israel. Pathetic Hamas NEVER EVER APPRECIATED ANY PEACE EVER. !
19. This is extremely stupid
Lednah ,   Europe   (01.07.09)
Israel will trade their advantage PLUS months of preparations only to allow the terrorists to rebuild and restock?
20. Hey Terry
chaim ,   Israel   (01.07.09)
This is exactly what I meant by not trusting this government. This is sad. Guess this is another step to the "New World Order" ran by the Illuminiti.
21. 'No truce as long as there is an occupation' - Hamas
Talula ,   Israel   (01.07.09)
Has anyone ACTUALLY ASKED them WHAT occupation they are talking about? Because most people scratch their heads and ask the same question. What do they consider an occupation? We know their occupation is full time thug and murderer - but what do they mean when they call it an occupation? Any half intelligent Palestinians here to answer?
22. #12 HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!
Talula ,   Israel   (01.07.09)
WHOAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! Hamas and Hizbulloh leaders are all hiding underground - THAT is the reality. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA - you're such a loser!
23. No.2, Zyriab writes: "Israel should
(01.07.09)
end the blockade on Gaza strip before anything..." What he does NOT write, but makes us understand after his suspension dots is: "and/but let Hamas continue bombing Israel." In your wet dreams Zyriab !!!
24. opinion
Daniel ,   New York, USA   (01.07.09)
Sarkozy, its very nice that you want the suffering of Gaza's population to stop. So does everyone. Except for Hamas and Iran. The Gaza civilians are Iran's pawns and they don't care about them at all. That's why Hamas rejected the truce proposal, they don't care about their own people. When will you wake up Sarkozy.
25. Were they drunk when they put this ceasefire plan together?
Stockholm Sweden   (01.07.09)
Even for a kid it should be obvious that there is something very wrong with a ceasefire that doesn't even include the warring parts.
26. ceasefire
bernard landman ,   raanana israel   (01.07.09)
be honest, with livni, olmert, and barak leading this war against hamas did'nt you have the gut feeling that the outcome would be the same cock-up that they achieved in lebanon
27. Israel must talk to Hamas
Passerby ,   Germany   (01.07.09)
The War is between Israel and Hamas, and Hamas must be part of any deal as it is part of the problem. Hamas is fact on the ground, nobody can deny this fact!
28. Finish hamas,then talk.
Jacob ,   Toronto   (01.07.09)
29. French Nonsense
David ,   Jerusalem   (01.07.09)
We agreed to send people to "look into it," Hamas rejected it out of hand, and he's announcing to the world that we "agreed to it?" Bloody Frog!
30. World won't let Israel win, or Arabs lose
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (01.07.09)
The more things change, the more they remain the same. The IDF had taken to heart its failings in 2006, and in 2009 is showing that it's "back". But the political leadership, which initially showed more determination, is now buckling. Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised. In 2006, it was Olmert-Livni-Peretz. Today, it's Olmert-Livni-Barak. It only took a few days to go from "These are our conditions, and they're not negotiable" to "We're ready to stop, then we can talk about making this work". This truce proposal is a set-up, and Israel is being rolled. The leadership knows it's being had, but is unwilling to resist. It'll just put a good face on it and hope the electorate doesn't notice. From here, it's like watching a coming train wreck in slow motion.
