1. IDF war is defended by Geneva Convention
sam ,   USA   (01.11.09)
2. Hamas Should Be Sued Also
USABorn   (01.12.09)
Look what the U.S. did after 9-11. Were still in Afganistan. Most of the people protesting are Arab. Many more think Israel should weed out Hamas like the U.S. is Al Qaeda. Hamas lobbed bombs into Israel at will. They are to blame and should be sued for the previous bombings and the cost of kicking their butts.
3. I hope Mazuz plans intl lawsuits against Arabs/Hamas
William ,   Israel   (01.12.09)
to counter-act the hypocritical global liberals who are very one-sided in their attacks. Israel did very well this time by planning out the legal strategy before the operation, ensuring it fell within ALL intl guidelines. As icing on the cake, Israel should present ALL proof of Hamas' guilt of human rights violations, war crimes, and violation of Geneva Accord. In addition, it would be best to show the ugly hand of Iran involved. One can hope for arrest warrants through INTERPOL of all Iranian and Hamas leaders - EVEN if the EU invites them to meet diplomatically. Time to finish the job.
4. we can blame ourselves
(01.11.09)
Actually, we can blame ourselves: although the Palestinian terror organizations commit war crimes for years, the “peace syndrome” stopped us from prosecuting them for their crimes. Arafat was never prosecuted for his crimes, and he even was hosted by Ezer Weitzman in his house; and Abou Mazen has shares in the murder of the 11 sportsmen in Munich Olympics 1972, but he was never prosecuted as well. Instead of being the prosecutor of the war crimes committed by the Palestinians, we are in love with the victim role, and let them prosecute us.
5. Is Mazuz washing his hands from possible IDF War crimes?
Moise   (01.11.09)
"Mazuz stressed that the Judge Advocate General was involved in the authorization process of every strike in Operation Cast Lead, but that the final decision was still at the hands of the IDF" Mr. Mazuz, you are as resposnible as the IDF soldiers, now you are stuck, no more travel out side Israel, or may be except Egypt, your friend Mubarak will look after you!!!
6. $10 million for each civilian
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (01.12.09)
Using the Lockerbie and 9/11 payouts as a ball park therefore the bill will look like this. 500 Palestinians X $10million = 50,000,000,000 Less 4 Israeli civilians = 40,000,000 TOTAL ISRAEL TO PAY $49,960,000,000 PLUS $4billion for property damage.
7. #5, wierd that NONE of these "claims"
Danny   (01.12.09)
ever come to anything. Not a single claim has EVER made it to trial and virtually all are thrown out at the first hearing - and IDF soldiers travel all over the world. Almost like these claims have no basis in reality.....
8. The only place IDF can travel to ..
Sam ,   NZ   (01.12.09)
How sad , no more Europe !! I guess the only place IDF officers can travel to is India for more Hashish and "good times" .
9. Disproportionate?
Steve   (01.12.09)
Navanethem Pillay thinks Israel's response is disproportionate. To keep him happy, I propose a proportionate response. We will fire 10 000 rockets into Gaza, just like they have done to us. How does that sound Mr Pillay?
10. we must sue for malicious charges all who made wrong charges
ralph   (01.12.09)
such as un groups, hr groups, commissioners all such rif-raft who think they can make incoorect statements, charges with inpunity. we must not only defend but aggressvly go after all such scum.
11. Israel should sue Hamas leaders personally
Alexa   (01.12.09)
for what they have done to Israeli citizens during the last 8 years, including schools bombing and targeting children.
12. #8, well let see
Danny   (01.12.09)
Yaalon travelled to NZ last year and Palestinian "rights" groups claimed he had to leave in a rush when they filed suit against him. In reality the suit was thrown out immediately and Yaalon got an apology from the NZ government for wasting his time. I guess NZ will be seeing more IDF officers if they can be bothered to make a trip to the arse end of nowhere.
13. Mossad & international lawsuits
robert ,   Italy   (01.12.09)
I think that mossad may act to send a ''signal'' to any Prosecutor, lawyer, judge, organization and single that propose an international lawsuits versus Israel....
14. Terrible but
larry ,   toronto   (01.12.09)
If one can justify any number of deaths of "innocents" - that term being relative - then the operation is good. These guys did need to be routed out and be taught a lesson. IDF is doing what should be done world wide but isn't because of political correctness. Still what outcome at what cost?
15. #8 "The only place IDF can travel to" is
Jose ,   Dallas, TX   (01.12.09)
"India for more Hashish and 'good times'". And you would know that beacuse.....? Oh, riight, you just HEARD about these things, never having left the rock you crawled under on your island....Hmm...
16. Philistine concept of proportionate answer
Raphael ,   Netanya   (01.12.09)
Ban the slingshot
17. #13, they won't bother
Danny   (01.12.09)
not a single one of these "claims" even made it to court. It is simply a lie that anti-Israelis love to make and like the other lies has zero substance to it
18. #7
william   (01.19.09)
indeed you are mostly right, but you see this is when the IDF and its personnel are tried by Israeli courts. there has only been one bench warrant issued for an israeli operative outside israel, one that he escaped by only a matter of hours. he wont be going back to holland any time soon. as soon as bench warrants are issued for your criminals (as well as those of hamas, which i would be overjoyed to see there as much as IDF criminals - like it or not, you are one and the same) from this war, we will see how much travelling they do.
