31. Arab Los Angeles, you are tough talking JOKER.
Maxwell Smart ,   Portland, USA   (01.14.09)
As usual. You are what you are. Very common among your tipe of yelloy belly cowards. Hiding in LA, not much different from your Gaza heroes. They hide under women's skirts, in schools, in civilian populated areas, in holly places of worship, and hospitals. COWARDS!!!. YOU ARE PLAIN COWARDS!!!... You are all very lucky that Israel and the IDF are so civilized. The IDF could turn gaza into a dead land. Even rats and roches of Gaza will cease to exist. Sadam's army would have massacred everyone of you. Sadam Husein knew how to treat his own people with dead, destruction and no mercy. Yeh(((!!! LA is a good place to hide. Big man!

36. The Question Is: "Will Israel Learn?"
MK ,   Philadelphia   (01.14.09)
1948 (almost lost) 1956 1967 1973 (almost lost) 1982 1990's first intifada, terrorism in Israeli cities 2000's second intifada, Lebanon/Gaza, Gaza, ... The same war through all these years. At some point Israel will figure out that fighting defenses doesn't work. It's ugly, but that's how the world really is. Israel has never really made the arabs pay a serious price, so they never stop. Israel can never be taken seriously so long as it remains a member of the UN. This is a very minor, but necessary first step. The longer Israel remains in an organization dedicated to its weakening and destruction, the less respect nations have for Israel. ... ANd how anyone even theoretically justifies the value of a peerless, competitionless organization is just beyond me. That's pure nuttiness.
37. we are the ones who never learn the arabs are not the idiots
zionist forver   (01.14.09)
We can fight a big long war achieve a military victory but when the inevitable negotiated ceasefire is negotiated we go from being the winners to becoming the loosers because the arabs know and we don't get it that we just cannot negotiate. A new born arab baby can take on and beat Israels oldest and most experienced negotiators because when it comes to diplomacy we don't fight to win. If we knew how to negotiate we would have told Assad we will give you at best a small portion of the Gollan as a token reward but any peace deal must be for the sake of peace not for a nobel prize, George Bush condemed Olmert for his talks with Assad because he wanted to give him something for nothing. We lost Lebanon not because we were up against a superior enemy but because although it took us a while to get our act together the woman who wants to be our next PM proudly negotiated 1701 and todat Hizbullah are stronger than they were before the war and now have rockets that can hit Jerusalem and Dimona. The arabs don't need to be the greatest fighters and they know it all they need to do is be good negotiators so the war can be ended on their terms. They have learned we havn't. WE NEED TO LEARN HOW TO NEGOTIATE
38. 36
zionist forver   (01.14.09)
1956 Plans were to take the captured Sinai and trade it for a peace treaty with Egypt. US came along said give it back unconditionly RESULT - Israeli soilders died for nothing and we got another war with Egypt in 1967. The Jerusalem problems we have today would not have existed if we had taken the advice of the Lubavetcher Rebbe who said that while the arabs are scared of what we might do buy them off cheap and give them 48 hours to get out of town. We of course were to good to do anythihg like that. Moshe Dayan the public face of the victory in 1967 decided to rather than Israel take control of Temple Mount allow the islamic waqf control it. Peres was against bombing Saddam Hussains nuclear reactor and was going to make the plan public his reason was it might upset France who were building the thing. Israel has this sense of guilt over its own existence and never takes its gloves off in war and after the war we like to make nice gestures to show we are not such bad guys. We might be winning this war but politicly we are still a joke and until we learn to say screw you and become better negotiators we will always be a joke and taken advantage of. Lets not let this war lull us into a false sense of security that we are a country that our enemies will respect now because we still havn't learned how to win political battles.
39. Moderate Arab States? As in Slaves to Israel?
Zyriab ,   Montréal   (01.14.09)
From what we have seen ; peace with Israel means the Israel will be the master while the other will be its slave... Moderate Arab states are only servicing Israel's destructive plans in the region. Peace with Israel has proven to be not a beneficial asset at all; Israel is always pampered by the US & Britain, & it will always consider itself as immune to UN resolutions. Peace with Israel is like unnecessary commodity.
40. Israel has provoked and motivated Arabs
(01.14.09)
Israel has provoked and motivated Arabs, and at the same time has weakened itself and its supporting Arab rulers and USA. They are approaching their end of life.

46. Denial?Winning?
Arab ,   Los Angeles   (01.14.09)
No 24 I feel so bad for you. Its you who is living in denial, the problem with you guys you still do not understand the issues here. For Hamas when they loose there lives they win the are happy they go to heaven. At least they rest from this miserable lfe they live in. If they live they win. Even if the civilians are not in the towns like in 2006 Lebanon you soldiers were crying from pain Hezbollah beat the shit out of them with no civilians there and you had the bet technology and best jectfighters th had very little. The issue is guts, Arab fighters are not afraid to die while your kids are so scared of dying. The whole game is who can last longer, of course not spoiled israeli soldiers and residents. That is why Israel is on a big decline. Technology can no longer do it for you. almost 20 days nothing accomplished rockets are still falling on you. Hamas is stronger and time will tell they are going to be much stronger in the future. Barak is already admitting that not much more could be done. All you accomplished is killing civilians and a few Hamas fighters after 20 days of immense bombardment. No 25 the weather is like summer days nice and warm we love it here. Listen man you do not measure winning and loosing by how many people die or how many buildings you destroyed this is material. Money goes and comes. You cannot buy guts man. American dollars can buy you weapons but not guts not honorable guts. What did you accomplish politically and on the ground? Nothing. Barak and living already are withdrawing from all this. You have really poor leaders who are thinking only about there campaigns at this time. Don’t think Bibi is better they are al the same. Israel is in big trouble. Maxwell you are the coward go fight if your not. Civilized? Hitting women and children with illegal weapons. You call this civilized? If you guys are men you will go in to Gaza city and fight like men an honorable fight not throw chemical weapons and massive bombardment then not dare to go in. You know what would happen your asses will be kicked out like in South Lebanon in 2006 no civilians then you wiped out towns then went in pure fighters waiting for you. Ask your best soldiers what happened. Real men faced them and made them cry all the way out. This is not tough talking this is reality. If not for your technology you will be wiped out by now. You cannot fight man to man no way cause you are the real cowards. Best technology against some very modest weapons, fighter jets with no opposition 20 days and nothing accomplished. That’s a big big failure one day when you learn and grow a bit you will understand.
47. Hamas must ask Iranian Terror University for its money back
Alan ,   SA   (01.14.09)
Their tactics dont work too well,do they
48. #46 - Arab, When you say it's like a summer day...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (01.14.09)
When you say it's like a summer day in LA, do you mean an LA summer or a NY summer? I used to love it there too, but a day of the most miserable weather in the land of my fathers is more satisfying than a gorgeous Southern California winter day with a slight Santa Ana breeze. As far as our accomplishments in Gaza, they extend far beyond the military sphere- the Arab world and Western Dhimmi media has only succeeded in uniting the Jewish people in resisting their Arab occupiers. Just look at the Israeli Knesset- Ta'al and Balad were just shown the business end of the front door! I will agree with you that Israel's leaders are spineless wimps that care more about their own political ambitions than they do the security of their nation, but if the Arab occupation were to mistake the cowardice of Israel's leaders with the resolve of Israel's people, this will be the last mistake they will ever make. Cheers!
49. To 15
Smith   (01.14.09)
Yes they learn: improve tank and tactic for next round. Hezbollah learn too: do not attack israël , you will it learn someday ... Tsahal is there for them and should enjoy IDF
50. This cruel war convinsed me to convert to Islam
Yaakov Sullivan ,   NYC   (01.14.09)
So far I was resistant to my husband trying to convert me to Islam. in fact I thought I will never abandon Christ. However after many painfull thoughts and sleepless nights I came to the conclusion that in order to keep peace in our family conversion is a must. I am happy to say this was the bast decision in my life. Now i feel peaceful and delightful. My husbsabd is proud of me. I want to wish to all Iaraelis Jews and Muslims SALAM and PEACE to all.
51. #11 Terry Don't bash Muslims, we are honorable people
Yaakub Sullivan ,   NYC   (01.14.09)
"As long as this ideology remains the dominant cultural force in the region, there will never be democratic reform, social reform, political reform or any other reform. And, there will never be peace" Terry as Moslem i can tell you we are peaceful and most Muslims want peace and coexistance. SALAM. SHALOM
52. #50 - Yaakov, Mabrouk!
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (01.15.09)
3alaykum as-Salam, Yaqub! May peace and blessings be upon you and your household- just remember that you and Hassan are "roommates" whenever any member of your community asks you what your relationship is or you might otherwise find yourself "accidentaly" falling from the Empire State Building. It's a jungle out there, Yakub, be safe!

55. Gaza-->reverse aliyah
DE Teodoru ,   NY NY USA   (01.15.09)
Yes they learned; every bloodlbath IDF perpetrates is followed by guilt ridden land for peace post-Zionism. IDF casualties tolerance is very low--both Arab and Israeli-- very low before moral inhibitions paralize killing machine. Israel's old politicos seek victory at elections through bloodshed. Then Israel loses Israelis, mostly in reverse aliyah.
56. Mr. Ghadry, the fact that a parsite like you keeps...
Persian CAT   (01.15.09)
getting a paycheck from the US government writing this kind of nonsense, while the hard working American are losing their jobs, and homes, is "an irony of gargantuan proportions". nuffsaid.
57. Utter desparation
Tom ,   Cranfield   (01.17.09)
I am so happy and relieved to see a piece of journalism that does not demonise Israel while omitting all blame from Hamas. The British Government and media are all too ready to encourage the eruption of inter-religious tension from this conflict with Hazel Blears making this a 'Muslim-against-the-rest-of-the-world' war and the BBC all too ready to unconditionally criticise the actions of Israel. It's such a pity people can't just lay down their arms and start using their heads to resolve issues instead.
58. Renaissance in 3 easy steps
