1. BARAK DO YOUR JOB, DESTROY HAMAS OR YOU ARE FINISHED
(01.14.09)
2. The two cultures do not mix.
Jo   (01.14.09)
To Arabs this is seemed as a sign of weakness but to Israelis this is not weakness at all. They have no false bravedo and are far more honest. And do not need to "save" face.
3. Barak
Yisraeli   (01.14.09)
Barak wants out, he wants an exit not because he cares what or where the army is and at what stage in the operation. He saw polls showing great great gains for him and in the last few days starting to fall due to what appears procrastination. So he wants to retain whatever lead he can in the polls for the elections that is less then 4 weeks away. Barak has always been about Barak and no one else. Will the people of Israel please wake up and throw all these selfish self serving politicians out. How can such people be our leaders? Dont you all see the abyss they lead us to? How can anyone in their right mind vote for Labor or Kadimah? Not that Likud is that much better with Bibi, but he can also be demoted with a party primary. He is still good for Israel as Foreign Minister thats about it. Please Israel wake up from your slumber already!
4. barak go and pick on somebody your size.
observer 2 ,   worldwide   (01.14.09)
Iran for an example, for hamas to stand up for you for 20 days with all what you have, you already lost and they won. nothing good about this war except its end.
5. Wake up
Norman ,   france, Eurabia   (01.14.09)
If the people do not require policy (kadima) to continue until victory, they will drop their pants as they did since they were in power. Like a helpless who can not bend long ;-)
6. They are right!
saus ,   TA / Zion   (01.14.09)
Barak has really become fat (rich) & weak.. He was a glorious IDF fighter all the credit to him, but it has been 30+ years since, now he's just a mediocre at best political leader. Clam up, stuff a sandwich or something in your mouth Barak.. Even if a cease fire is coming, you are weakening positions & resolve. Why not join Fuad (Ben Eliezer) for some burekas or something and let the IDF work?
7. Fire Barak Now
(01.14.09)
His words may have caused lives to Israeli soldiers!!!!!!!!!!!
8. Lesson on levantine logic: western media, pay attention!
Flavio ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (01.14.09)
Middle Eastern logic, particularly Arab, do not operate wihin the same cartesian framework that europeans and americans are used to. Concepts like honor, victory, smartness; cost-benefit judgments; everything starts from different premises and works by completely different rules. This is why is so especially tragic that the media and the public opinion in the West chose so overwhelmingly to support Hizballah in 2006 and Hamas now. Theirs are a death-oriented, martyrdom societies that do not give a penny for human life, true degenerates that would not hesitate for a second to use a nuclear weapon, if G-d forbid they'd ever get hold of one! IDF should go all the way and uproot Hamas so completely, in a so humiliating fashion, that it will not leave any room for a shadow of a doubt abou who is the winner and who is the loser.
9. Israel is a Godzilla
hossien ,   Suriya   (01.14.09)
Israel is a Godzilla, it have a small brain and large west-funded warfare (especially UK as its mom and US as its dad). It usually underestimates the power of its enemies and its strategy is always based on fear and horror of its enemies. The action of Israel in GAZA is the real HORROR MOVIE
10. BARAK disgraces ISRAEL and is determined to lose this war!
GET REAL ,   USA   (01.14.09)
11. hamas future
yosef   (01.14.09)
How come all Hamas leaders are not declared yet criminals that should be subjet to a criminal court of law? And to be capture alive or dead after the cease fire...?
12. barak diplomacy is not your buisness
dovdevan ,   paris eurabia   (01.14.09)
so before thinking of your own interest think about israel interest! as we know your failed in the past in 2000 when we withdraw from lebanon so diplomacy israel not your buisness your are a military men
13. Barak's indecision - again
DT ,   TA Isr   (01.14.09)
Barak always was unfit to lead and equally indecisive . How he ever became Chief of the IDF beggars belief but the good news is that he will be soon gone as Min of Defense and the sooner the better
14. Barak is at it again.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.14.09)
Just an over-stuffed opportunist, a man whose record positively stinks. Livni is not much better - despite all the tough talk, she's basically an appeasement-minded political hack out for her own interest. Amazingly, & I hate to admit it, but Olmert is conducting himself much better than his two collegues, no doubt, because he is not a candidate (except for jail). How Barak can be doing better in the polls astounds me - evidently many have the memory of goldfish & an IQ to match.
15. There they go again...
Justagerman ,   near Cologne, German   (01.14.09)
Since the beginning of the clash I follow the behavior of Israeli politicians. In the Libanon conflict they startet hacking at each other pretty early. This time it took a few days longer but they have nothing better to do than to discredit each other. That's always their problem and the best way to bring down all confidence in the country and worldwide. Fight Hamas not your associates.
16. face it
sam ,   AUH   (01.14.09)
Face it, they can not penetrate, your inteligence has been sleeping while hamas was building Hezbollah like apparatus
17. who told u this was not the intention?
sam ,   auh   (01.14.09)
IDF should go all the way and uproot Hamas so completely, in a so humiliating fashion, that it will not leave any room for a shadow of a doubt abou who is the winner and who is the loser. But the failed
18. Keep going IDF...
Juan ,   Spain   (01.14.09)
...because the missiles are reducing, but they haven't stopped yet.
19. Barak reverts to type - shows why he's unfit to be PM
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (01.14.09)
Israel's early success in this operation redounded to Barak - and by extension the other losers on the Labor list - when credit properly belonged to Ashkenazi and senior commanders who worked to correct the mistakes of 2006. But Barak can only hide his true character and lack of judgement for so long. He is not fit to serve as Israel's PM. And, if Israel's electorate exercise their own better judgement, he will not be DM for long either.
20. To #18
IDF ,   Land of Peace   (01.14.09)
Oh really? We didn't know this. Thank you for telling us. We certainly will.
21. #20
David ,   USA   (01.14.09)
The statement from #18 was meant to be support and encouragement and does not deserve your sarcism. You owe him an apology.
22. To all of you BIG MOUTH
Dr D ,   Jerusalem   (01.14.09)
Would any of you will take the full responsibility of ending this war with bombing Gaza City hospitals and other locations with massive civilians casualties just to maybe yes or maybe not put the hands on Hamas leadership and find Shalit? There is no hope for any solution in Gaza because up till now we didn't sow any Fatah action to topple Hamas. The change in Gaza can only come from inside.
23. hussein from syria do you remember homa ?
dovdevan ,   paris eurabia   (01.14.09)
in syria in the 1980 when hafez assad eradicate the islamic threat in hama how many people died ? about 30000 so keep your mouth shut
24. To Dr D #29
Observer ,   London   (01.14.09)
And what kind of a Dr are you advocating bombing of hospitals?
25. Barak the Traitor
Joe K ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.14.09)
This is the same Barak who while still in uniform, sang praises about the stability of the Syrian Regime while bidding for a position with the Labor party. He advocated, while still a soldier, that we begin negotiations on the future of the Golan with Syria. This is the same Barak who was ready to forfeit the Temple Mount in Jerusalem to the Islamofascists. This is the same Barak who created the Hizbullah threat on Israel's northern border with his hasty retreat under fire. This is the same Barak who fled the scene when soldiers were hurt in Tzahalim. This is the same Barak who permitted the buildup of Hamas strength, making the residents of Southern Israel miserable. Why is the public now surprised by his treachery which undermines success against an implacable enemy? This is the Barak who comforts the enemies of Israel. He should be vomitted out of power, with the other Ehud, and his memory should be disgraced. God save the Yehudim from the Ehudim. If only Israelis had longer memories......
26. To Barak RE: Hamas in Gaza
Tim ,   Tustin, Calif, USA   (01.14.09)
Barak, let the IDF finish the job. Destroy Hamas NOW, while you have the opportunity. Yes, it will be costly, but this is the price of peace. Once Hamas is finished, or at least decimated, the PA can reassert its authority in Gaza, and that is what is needed in at the end of the day. The USA stands shoulder to shoulder with Israel! Go IDF, Go!!
