1. hamas Egypt
Tom ,   US   (01.14.09)
In other words Hamas says no to ceasefire unless it can continue as it has. IDF bmbs away -unconditional surrender - why has IDF not taken ground by Gaza border and destroyed all tunnels into Gaza from Egypt ?
2. This is just a list of demands, what a joke...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (01.14.09)
... of course the joke will be entirely on us if our foolish leadership agrees to this- which is entirely possible, might I add.
3. So what changed?
Eyal ,   Boca Raton   (01.14.09)
What a bunch of no brain terrorists. I guarantee Israel will not accept these conditions, but you never know with these left leaders. Continue to bomb them until you get Gilad Shalit and Ismail Haniyeh.
4. HAMAS knows ISRAEL will cave in when OBAMA takes office!
GET REAL ,   USA   (01.14.09)
5. Open borders
Yerushalmi ,   Jerusalem   (01.14.09)
Of course they want them, they didn't manage to pull off a suicide bombing from gaza since they were closed. For that they agree not to fire few remaining rockets for a while... Until they replentish their stocks.
6. If Hamas had not started this they would have a state by now
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (01.14.09)
Hamas has set its requirements (the same ones from before the war) based on the one statment: "As long as the occupation exists, so will the resistance" Now Israel left Gaza 3 years ago, Hamas took power 2 years ago, and the boarders were closed 2 years ago. Where would they be if they had accepted the Peace that Israel offered 3 years ago? In order to get all of what they want all they have to do is stop firing at Israel, return Cprl. Shalit, and allow the PA to operate the boarders under the old agreement. Then they would have an "end to the aggression, lift the siege and open the crossings" Seems that they are not willing "to achieve our objectives in any way possible" - because that would mean a real and lasting peace
7. Pathetic
Los Angeles, USA   (01.14.09)
When, oh when will the Palestinians or any other Arabs see that their "leaders" are using them??!! These people are just puppets for people who talk big and hide in caves while letting their people die. Too bad they don't have enough dignity to want a better life. COWARD LEADERS WITH IGNORANT SUBJECTS... and yes, that's how the rest of the world sees it too.
8. 8 years of Rockets Should be followed by 8 yrs of Cast Lead
meir elazar   (01.14.09)
We should make the modern day dream of Pharoah a reality. We were inflicted with Rockets and Mortars for 8 year with over 10000 rockets and mortars. This is replaced by Operation Cast Lead which has diminished the rockets and has the terrorist HAMAS hurting and hiding. Our casualties are low but still too many. We must continue for 8 years as in the prophesy until HAMAS and the terrorist unconditionally surrender. Anything less and they will try to twist it into a victory. No opening of borders. Nothing until HAMAS falls and is replaced. Until the Charter no longer calls for the Destruction of Israel and murder of all Jews and Israelis. The terrorist should get exactly nothing. Terror must not be rewarded. IT MUST BE AN UNCONDITIONAL HUMILIATING SURRENDER.
9. well, it looks
fish tel-aviv   (01.14.09)
as if though hamas tanks have already surrounded Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem... obviously they haven't received all the beating yet... keep on IDF.
10. @Tom #1
Arab ,   Morocco   (01.14.09)
Because they can't because Hamas is kicking their *ss. You will see that Israël has lied to all of you. You will see that Hamas is extremely resilient.
11. Respect their choice
Chrisona ,   Chicago.IL   (01.14.09)
Look, if Hamas would rather be destroyed than make peace with Israel, then so be it. Their choice.
12. #1 - You'r right. WHY NOT TAKE THE TUNNELS
Pedro ,   Mozambique   (01.14.09)
13. Hamas making demands
Miriam ,   Canada   (01.14.09)
Hamas is making demands already and they haven't even shown willingness to sign anything. Calling Israel 'the enemy' , keep the tunnels, anything else? seems to me Mr. Chicken hiding from the guns does not have enough yet? What about Shalit? this does not sound like a good deal to me, Israel.
14. I sincerely hope Israeli leadership will not cave in
Avi ,   Geneva   (01.14.09)
but continue to press on Hamas until they bite the dust and yell 'uncle' - what arrogant demons these terrorists are! If Israel's leaders are fool enough to make a deal with them that lets them get away to fight another day - well, then we deserve to disappear from history.
15. end agression?? LOOOOOOL what a joke
(01.14.09)
16. Hamas Truce Response
Michael ,   USA   (01.14.09)
We'll, there doesn't seem to be much progress in what Hamas said in the Cario press conference. Perhaps they will have a more flexibile view in a few more days.
17. Israel - keep pounding Gaza - We are with you
Leon ,   Los Angeles, USA   (01.14.09)
the only way to win against an enemy is using extra force.
18. Hamas regarding truce
ajs ,   ashdod is   (01.14.09)
B.S B.S. B.S.
19. somebody forgot
susan ,   jerusalem   (01.14.09)
that if you want to talk about "aggression" -it is precisely the "aggression " of showering rockets on Israeli land by the Hamas that brought on the military response. Isn't this a clever [or rather dumb] turning of the tables?
20. Hamas ''agreement'' - less than 15 minutes.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.14.09)
Ynet should wait at least 20 minutes before reporting any further agreements with Hamas. Nothing these people say means a thing except of course that they want to kill us. Why any Israeli politician bothers to talk to these lunatics is beyond me. Let's just kill them all & be done with it - we can figure out what to do with Gaza later.
21. Please pray
Michael ,   New York, USA   (01.14.09)
Even if you are secular, which I am, that the leaders of Israel NEVER agree to any kind of ceasefire with Hams, but rather finish the job which they started. Hamas must not exist anymore except perhaps in the minds of Assad and Meshal in Damascus, but not in Gaza, EVER.
22. So which country are they trying to make a reservation in?
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (01.14.09)
They can't find a place that isn't getting bombed right now. Good job Hamas. Blowing up a neighborhood near you....(HAMAS). You guys voted the clowns in....live with the consequences.
23. #10
Arthur ,   Texas   (01.14.09)
Let me know what you are smoking, I would like some of this stuff.
24. I CAN´T BELIEVE
José Frajtag ,   Rio de Janeiro   (01.14.09)
What is the big difference? HAMAS are still imposing conditions to grant Israel a truce! Israel will be crazy to accept that! They are acting as they are winning the war. They want to keep the Tunnels? Is it a Joke or what?
25.  open the crossings?
Psalms 83 ,   Selah   (01.14.09)
open the crossings? this must have security strings on them .... flow of food & medical services...is an important priority.... unfortunatly untill trust can be built on both sides a srong security presence is a must...to be eased only when hamas is willing to let israel exist.....
26. For the elites, it's about Arabs and oil. For the rest...
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (01.14.09)
Arthur (#23) writes, in response to Arab (#10) in Morocco, "Let me know what you are smoking, I would like some of this stuff." No, you don't want that stuff. It'll just make you as delusional as he is. And, speaking of delusional, if anyone takes Hamas' words to suggest they accept anything close to Israeli terms for a ceasefire, they *have* been smoking that bad stuff.
27. Maybe Israel can agree
ZS ,   USA   (01.14.09)
..To lift siege, open borders, stop the military operation... ...If Hamas agrees to change its charter and stop calling for the destruction of Israel, agrees to honor previous committments made by the Palestinians, stops firing rockets, and prevents other groups from firing rockets.
28. UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER
Brad ,   USA   (01.14.09)
Keep pushing until they cry out for mercy! It must end! If not now, When?
29. Open borders? Rely on Egypt, not us.
Vered, Israel   (01.14.09)
30. Obama is going to screw you soon.
