2. Why are these meetings not held in Sderot?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (01.15.09)
It's all well and good that Peres makes Israel's case in Jerusalem, but why does he not meet his interlocutors on the front line? Let them encounter the reality of life there, as Mike Bloomberg did. Maybe they won't be so quick to bitch about the "poor suffering civilians" of Gaza.
3. Lawrence! Please on behalf of me, aswell :) ??

Flavio ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (01.16.09)
...should be brought to an extensive tour of Sderot and Ashkelon, better yet if he/;she can stay for the night. Every official meeting should be held there. Maybe those hipocrytes would think twice before offering their support to the poor, suffering, innocent palestinians in Gaza!
5. #2Why meeting didnt held i Tel Aviv?Status of J'lem isnt clear

dear mr ban, you had your chance to make peace in gaza. over the last 8 years, you did not stop a single qassam, or even pass a single watered-down security council resolution condemning even one of the 10,000 rockets fired at israel. each and every one of them constituted an act of unprovoked aggression, prohibited by the united nations charter, and yet the united nations remained silent. israel's right to self-defence is not dependent on your permission, or on the accuracy of hamas' aim, but on the fact that israel has been attacked, and the aggressor has expressed every intention of continuing these attacks. in fact, hamas' charter is a blueprint for genocide (which is also a contravention of international law). if you find the civilian casualties in gaza "unbearable", please do something about them. try to persuade hamas to stop locating combatants amongst civilians, because that's a war crime. or even just address them, at least as severely as you have addressed israel. because they are the ones responsible for the casualties, according to international law. or even ask them to stop shooting at israeli civilians, which they also refuse to do. but beating up on israel is an affront to decency and common sense. not only are you absolutely impotent to protect israeli civilians, but you are now demanding that israel expose her citizens to attack without trying to protect them. perhaps you should rethink the slogan of your campaign, because the casualties in gaza are at least as "bearable" to israel as they are to hamas, who seem to be in no hurry to save their own people, so long as they can make good propaganda out of it.

re 5.The status of Jerusalem is very clear, it is the capital of Israel for eternity. The Idf is the defence force of Israel not the attack force,Tell that to the antisemites at the u.n.Tell them also they are defending the citizens of the democratic state of Israel, not just the 75% Jewish majority but all its citizens.Whilst hamas hides behind kids and fires rockets at all civillians.

Israel, please don't trust this Islamic appeaser. Ban is in Israel to run interference for Hamas. UNless Israel finishes off the Gaza barbarians they will remain a thorn in Israel's side.

Our brilliant UN BS artists have enlarged tonsils, capable of spouting hokum in king-sized portions. To Ban-ki Moon and the entire UN I offer this; "kock-em-oon".
