Just a bit too bleeding heart for me.
32. YAIR DON'T WORRY
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (01.17.09)
After another useless ceasefire wil come in effect , your buddies in Gaza will get better rockets and the next round will hit Tel Aviv. I remember that during the second Lebanon war I had to be in Tel Aviv unfortunally and I was amazed that the people there , were fighting about parking places and were engaged in other unpleasant day to day behavior, like nothing was going on. Being the Hedonist city it prouds itself to be, egoism and arrogance are its trade mark, therefore Yair is at home there. In the long run Tel Aviv will be forced to consider itself part of the land off Israel, no matter how hard they try not to be.
33. Point completely missed, if we hadn't left Gush Katif
Yosi M. ,   Gilo, Israel   (01.17.09)
then most of this trouble wouldn't have happened. For all the bleeding heart leftist extremist, every time you give the arabs an inch, they think that we are weak and therefore time for them to attack us. It is a very simple formula that they follow. If you ever learn it, you and our whining Yair Lapid will stop all the idiot statements made.
34. Better a Tel Avivian than a yored
Jake   (01.17.09)

m   (01.18.09)
Most have kippa, sons of rabbis, the same villified "settlers". I think you have your answer Iair why Tel Aviv is not considered part of Israel and is despised as a hedonist city.
38. Thank you Yair
Helene ,   Tel Aviv   (01.18.09)
Yair, Kol Hakavod !!! I was in Sderot last saturday visiting a needy family..... and felt terrible when I heard people say: this should happen in Tel Aviv, then the "ashkenazim" would know what we in Sderot are going through. I am still speechless.........
39. To Rich #3
Helene ,   Tel Aviv   (01.18.09)
What a "chutzpah" !!!!! Stay in New York and don't ever come here, even for a visit I don't want you in Tel Aviv. And if you are an israeli living in the States, come over and get down to Gaza immediately. During the scud business I never left my home in Tel Aviv, but went to old age homes to help my Mum and other ederly. What about you ????????

41. RAMAT AVIV IS GUILTY NOT SOUTH AND CENTRAL TEL AVIV
avi shalit ,   ashkelon   (01.18.09)
RAMAT AVIV IS GUILTY NOT SOUTH AND CENTRAL TEL AVIV. RAMAT AVIV IS FULL OF DRAFT DODGERS AND NEVER HAS MISSLES OR TERRORIST ATTACKS. IT LOVES ISRAEL's ENNEMIES. SAVE THE WEST BANK AND GIVE RAMAT AVIV FOR PEACE.
42. ITS RAMAT AVIV AND NOT TEL AVIV THAT BETRAYS ISRAEL
ISRAEL SMILOVITZ ,   YAVNEH   (01.18.09)
ITS RAMAT AVIV AND NOT TEL AVIV THAT BETRAYS ISRAEL. TERRORIST ATTACKS AND MISSLES DON'T GET TO THE RAMAT AVIV WHERE TZAHAL IS HATED AND FOREIGN NON JEWISH ARE EXPLOITED AND EVERYWHERE. REBUILD GUSH KATIV AND GIVE RAMAT AVIV FOR SHALOM
43. It is not body count that does it !!!
Noa ,   Beer Sheva   (01.18.09)
See your little ones panick, try to get three little babies out of their car seets in less then 30 seconds, try to cover them with your own body while fearing for your own life, know everytime the sirens wail that it is you and your family they are coming for, try to keep your children inside for days and weeks, without any of you going crazy. You know what? Come over and you´ll see.

46. the hair gel has seeped in too far
better looking ,   real israel   (01.18.09)
what's pretty boy's point? these people in the south are not complaining to say they are better..they are complaining because they would like the government (you know the one that failed those people in the Ezra neighborhood) to not fail them. why should people in the south have to live under constant threat of rocket fire? because not as many died as in Tel Aviv? who is being the "nasty critic"? well congrats Yair, we stopped, the poor Gazans can continue to live their life and not be interuptted by the pesky IDF when all they want to do is shoot a couple of "harmless" rockets at Israelis who clearly haven't suffered as much as those mighty Tel-Avivians...when we get to 50+ casualities in the South then maybe we can talk..right Yair?
47. Oh telaviv sheli...
Avner Kluger ,   Birmingham, UK   (01.18.09)
Telaviv has to be one of the best parts of Israel (And one of the parts I miss the most) - Instead of crying that it never gets hit we should be thankful that somewhere in our country people get to live a normal life.
48. NO! NO! NO! NO!!!!!
Talula ,   Israel   (01.18.09)
It must not come to this. It must not turn into a competition as to which community has suffered the most deaths. We have all had our fair share of terror, from the north to the center to the south. Our country is constantly under threat, and we need to be united, not divided by who has it worse. It isn't the fault of the Tel Avivians that the south is under fire. During the Gulf war, the folks living in Tel Aviv went down south as it was out of range for rocket fire from Iraq. No-one is telling the people from the south not to come to Tel Aviv. No-one complained to the folks down South during the Gulf war. OK, it wasn't 8 years, but still, it was a very unpleasant time for us all. It's not a competition here, and we all feel sad, concerned and worried for our fellow Israelis living under constant rocket attacks. It's not fair and it's not right to say we have it better.
49. Sad competition
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.18.09)
And such a hate ! we have more wounded ! we had more deads ! They are'nt part of Israel ! My questions : do you have statistics about those living in Tel Aviv and yes or not serving ? Was there not a problem with religious people in Ramat Aviv because a non Kosher super ? Are those religious also not belonging to Israel ? What were the Tel Avivians supposed to do during those 8 years of bombing ? stay at home and watching TV ? Did'nt they demonstrate ? Please , if ONE israeli suffers , the whole country does , so don't give in on this hate .
50. schmuel # 45 , if all Israelis talked as you do
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.18.09)
There would be NO IDF and NO Israel , Ramat Aviv Gimmel included . But i suppose you are'nt even a Ramat Aviv inhabitant .
51. #3 you are a sad liar
johny ,   new york   (01.18.09)
just cuse a few comedy shows and a few people says that tel-aviv is a buble disconected from isreal dosent mean it is true, people in tel aviv dont wont to do army? you are just plain sad tallkbacker. tel aviv had suicde bombers and more gifts from the islam.
52. Are you for real, Yair?
Dasna Rothschild ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.18.09)
Are you starting to count victims, like the anti-Semites???? Between 2000 and 2004 in Tel Aviv 32 people lost their lives, one of them from Ramat Gan in the terrorist attacks, and in Jerusalem 165…. Don’t start with counting, Yair…. And this is not about amount of victims, Yair… after a terrorist attack in 3 hours you don’t see anything anymore… and if you were lucky, that nobody of your family was a victim, you will sit the same evening at your tv, bar, restaurant with you friends.. you will talk for several minutes about the attack, and then about something else… This is about living for years every day, every hour, with fear and anticipation for the next siren… this is about running to shelter several times a day for years… this is about not going to school or work… this is about not being able to open a shop… this is about not being able to lead a normal, safe life, like you are leading…. Maybe you can move to sderot for half a year? And then I would like to see you, writing the same stupid article….. you are a nasty man, Yair, who thinks, that from your comfortable, safe apartment you have a right to speak out in this way…. Shame on you!
53. Hurray for Tel Aviv!
rivkah f. ,   jerusalem, israel   (01.19.09)
Strangely enough, I agree with Yair Lapid on most points. However, unlike T.A., the Western Negev region has been battered by rockets for so long, the government did so little before Cast Lead and the people often were so traumatized that many left the region, which was beset by economic problems even before the rockets. T.A. is always thriving and after the Gulf War & terror attacks continues as our metropolis. Furthermore, the continuous attacks on the south symbolized Israel's abandonment of its sovereignty & defense of its citizens. This did not occur in the case of T.A. or even of my town, Jerusalem which is always maliciously maligned as a haredi backwater. If Lapid means that we are all one people, then he is right.
54. hello,are you real?
56 ,   israel   (01.19.09)
i can't believe that we do not have other problems ,than to blame each other. lets not give satisfaction to our "good freiends" the anti-jewish people" , and be more pacient to each other We have a lot of people who hates us , no need for hate betwen our selfs because we are in the same situation all of us
55. some people call themselves Telavivians, why not Israelis?
(01.19.09)
You don't identify with Israel,? but, after all, what else can I expect? You DID support the disengagement and Oslo
