the IDF now appears disciplined, equipped, trained, agile, motivated and well organized

3. Headline is misleading.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.17.09)
The Gaza Op is NOT continueing ''with full force'' or they would have entered the urban area of Gaza City. The article itself says, ''on the outskirts of Gaza City.'' The Gaza Op has been in a holding pattern for 5-6 days. This is not to say that nothing is happening - strikes continue. But there is no push into the city to eliminate Hamas leaders hiding in bunkers underground. The politicians are NOT pushing for a military victory - only pressure for a ceasefire. You should all keep this in mind when you choose who to vote for.
4. NO CEASE FIRE, ATTACK THE HAMAS LEADERSHIP IN SYRIA
Michael Ezrachi ,   St. Louis, USA   (01.17.09)
Israel should not stop, no cease fire. What Israel needs to do is also, go after the Hamas leadership in Syria. Khaled Mashaal is safe in Damascus, willing to fight to the last gazan. Nothing is going to change until Hams is destroyed, that means all their top people, even those in Syria. And if any rockets are fired from Lebanon, then anywhere and anybody in Lebanon is fair game. Israel should ignore the UN and their anti Israel statements, and Obama is a coward, Israel does not have to worry about him. Israel needs to finish the job! No repeat of Lebanon 2006.
5. Israel cannot continue
steve ,   usa   (01.17.09)
To go to war and not fight until the enemy is deystroyed. Twice now in the last 4 years they have stopped short of fighting until there is a surrender. Mark my word, it wontt be long until Israel is dodging much more lethal rockets from Gaza and Lebanon.
6. Excuse me........

It takes two to make a truce. Hamas says NO TRUCE. oOops........this means Israel is going for a unilateral truce!! World gives a damn if Hamas comes back to fight another day. G-d save the terrorists!#@!*%? What this BS boils down to is: -No Shalit. -No end to Hamas. -No end to weapons smuggling despite jubilation between 'Tippsy' and Condi. -Nothing learned. I mean NOTHING! In quoting Caroline Glick "The passage of Resolution 1860 could be a blessing in disguise if Israel is capable of learning its principal lesson: No one, not even our friends, will fight out battles for us." caroline@carolineglick.com Israel must throw out it's elected officials starting with Olmert who like an uninvited guest......stayed too long. Tippsy next and so on.

The IDF released a video claiming to show evidence that Hamas had used a mosque to store weapons, but an analysis of the video casts doubt on the claim. The IDF also falsely claimed Hamas had fired mortars from a UN-run school to cover up its shelling of the school, resulting in the deaths of more than 40 civilians who had taken refuge there. This was the third UN school hit. Israel has also attacked a UN medical center, UN convoys bringing humanitarian supplies into Gaza, and a UN warehouse where such goods are stored. >>there was no secondary explosion in the mosque, but a second Israeli missile. There was no shooting from inside the school. No, No, No, but civilian direct targeting. An example of this process surrounds the most shocking atrocity of this war so far: the shelling of the UN Fakhura school in Jabaliya refugee camp. Immediately after the incident became known throughout the world, the army “revealed” that Hamas fighters had been firing mortars from near the school entrance. As proof they released an aerial photo which indeed showed the school and the mortar. But within a short time the official army liar had to admit that the photo was more than a year old. In brief: a falsification. Later the official liar claimed that “our soldiers were shot at from inside the school”. Barely a day passed before the army had to admit to UN personnel that that was a lie, too. Nobody had shot from inside the school, no Hamas fighters were inside the school, which was full of terrified refugees. But the admission made hardly any difference anymore. By that time, the Israeli public was completely convinced that “they shot from inside the school”, and TV announcers stated this as a simple fact. http://dandelionsalad.wordpress.com/2009/01/16/israel-issues-false-propaganda-to-cover-up-war-crimes/

9. what's changed after 3 weeks?
aaron ,   ra'anana   (01.17.09)
Hamas is still firing rockets and mortars on the south of israel on a daily basis... the IDF has done a fantastic job so far of killing Hamas operatives but now here comes the politicians Livni and Barak to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory...
10. All this for the Elections.
Jewish Refugee ,   U.S.A.   (01.17.09)
