1. Poor man. This shows Hamas' cynical use of civilians.
Grigorius   (01.17.09)
I hope his wounded kids will recover. This is a human tragedy first, but we must understand that there are some leaders in the Arab world that profit from tragedies like this.
2. I doubt if the media realizes ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.17.09)
But most of us are fed up with propaganda & sympathy stories about Palestinians. The media is seriously out of touch with how the vast majority of Israelis think.
3. Job in Canada?
Pierre ,   Canada   (01.17.09)
Whike I sympathize and feel his grief at loosing his daughters, I sincerely doubt he would have a job in Canada, as a doctor. Norms here are really strict.
4. Stern
(01.17.09)
I like what Stern came and said
5. I think Terry lives in Kiryat Arba NOT Eliat
Bob ,   Tel Aviv   (01.17.09)
6. This doctor belongs in Gaza where he can help the
Rivkah   (01.17.09)
murderers he and his fellow Gazans elected to office. God shows no mercy to those who have shown no mercy, so why is Israel showing mercy to Gazans in Israeli hospitals when this doctor is not even a prisoner of war. His dead children went to be with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Moses, David, and Yeshua. This doctor should be thanking the Lord for His mercy to children who because of their parents' unbelief can only go to heaven if they die young. It was God's favor to this Gazan physician that caused the death of his three daughters who would have gone to hell if allowed to grow up as Muslims in a religion that denies the God of Abraham. He should be kissing the feet of the IDF who killed his daughters because the daughters are comforted and are in Paradise because of their young age. That is reality, pal.
7. The Woman protesting in the crowd
Ginette ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.17.09)
... Is absolutely right. Palestinians Starving? Oh this is rich! Just look at this doctor's fat face. The same like the so called "Canadian" Palestinians looked like when they returned to Canada a few days ago...They were not the faces of hungry People, yet, as soon as they saw a camera, then it's "no water, no food, no electricity, no fuel", the Israelis are committing genocide" they say!! The news media are sickening as well; I barely pay attention these days. Let the soldiers DO THEIR JOB!! And if the “good doctor” house is hit even if he has his three daughters inside, so be it. That house was targeted for a reason
8. It isgrief. This doctor is not issuing propaganda
De   (01.17.09)
This is his story and no matter how right or wrong, innocents always die in these situations. And he is telling their story. The other mother speaks out of fear for her sons. This doc is well known at this hospital and he is not helping Hamas. He is for peace.
9. This mother was right!
JJ3JAY ,   Israel   (01.17.09)
The media makes all the Palestinians to be the victims and Israel the aggressors! Pure propaganda! Why isnt this doctor condemning Hamass for creating this situation. If he really wants peace why doesnt he blame the Islamic extremists that continually destroy any hope of peace? Why doesnt he condemn the Hamass Charter? The IDF did not fire at his house for no reason! Either missiles were launched from next to it or the IDF had other information to cause them to fire at it. The IDF doesnt fire blindly like Hamass!
10. #2 True. Media frustrated with lack of acceptance
Australian Guy   (01.17.09)
Unfortunately for the media, many people who are supposed just believe their "reports" - don't.
11. Some people
Vilgot T ,   Difficult to Say   (01.17.09)
Some people ought to keep their mouths shut on certain occasions. This was maybe such an occasion? And the woman that was yelling the way she did didn't show any sensitivity at all.
12. Dangerous outbreak of hate
H.H.M. ,   Jerusalem   (01.17.09)
Dangerous outbreak of hate To Levana Stern your anguish concerning the faith of yours 3 sons in the army is human but as human being you should be able to control yourself and not mix human tragedy like the Dr. Ezzeldeen Abu al-Aish fate, of 3 killed, finally dead daughter plus 2 additional wounded daughters now at Tel Hashomer hospital and another killed niece. - One only can wish you of your sons coming out of IDF’s Cast Lead without scratch. When this hopefully will happen soon you should apologize publicly and personally for your completely unjustified outbreak and accusation taken on from official pointed propaganda. - Your “…belated humanitarian interview …” is to be considered as a public crocodile tear, readjustment after having trampled on human being at his deepest sorrows – I’m sorry to use this plain language to avoid any further misunderstanding or misinterpretation possible. Here we simply deal with a unusual large h u m a n tragedy only.
13. I pray...
Jeffrey ,   Boston   (01.17.09)
that G*d continues to blind the Hamas leadership to reality, continues to harden their hearts, and continues to give them just enough strength to pull the trigger so that the sons of light, the IDF, can finish the job and wipe out Hamas once and for all.
14. I wonder what party did he vote...
vendaval ,   Victoria, BC, Canada   (01.17.09)
... in 2006 elections in Gaza? Be careful what you wish for. This "man of peace" never protested against shelling of Sderot for last eight years and against killing political opponents by Hamas in Gaza. Why?
15. I wish all Palestinians who are against the Hamas
Maria ,   MD   (01.17.09)
should do something to get rid of the Hamas.I'm afraid they will pay a heavy price for it though for collaborating with Israel. Their own family will turn them in for being traitors.I hope and pray that God of Israel will do a miracle to get rid of the Hamas, to give them desires to SURRENDER for the sake of their own people. If Palestinians shoot rockets, of course, Israel will respond to defend itself and its people. We can't blame Israel for that.
16. I'm right behind the soldier's mother!!!!
Talula ,   Israel   (01.17.09)
17. No Anger @ Hamas??
R ,   TA Israel   (01.17.09)
I truely feel for his loss, but perhaps this Dr. should vent some of this anger at Hamas. I still have yet to see him stage a press conf. in the Gaza hospital, if they didn't make such a mess of Gaza and would stop launching to the South we never would have had to be there in the 1st place. Why does Israel always have to justify defending itself & it's citizens against a terroist organization. It is such a shame that we all have to suffer the loss of so many innocent lifes. Will we ever learn?!?!
18. Settle for some contempt, doc?
Cameron ,   USA   (01.17.09)
You damn fool, even the rocks & trees could see the Israelis were going hit Gaza like a thunderbolt at some point after the long months of daily mortar and rocket attacks. You had a sacred obligation to move your family away from the building storm. You knew it was coming, mate, and you left your family sitting in the middle of the unavoidable firing-line. The mother did right to call you on your efforts to generate some sort of bulls*** moral guilt-trip on the Israelis for forcing them to go after Hamas as they hid behind your daughter's skirts. Whose hands are stained with blood, doc? Stone-cold when I look look in the direction of Gaza.
19. On both sides there are people who want peace
Rina   (01.17.09)
I believe Dr. Abu Al-Aish. I believe that there are more people like him in Gaza who truly want peace. My heart goes out to him for his personal tragedy. I feel the same way for all the families here in Israel who have lost loved ones because of Hamas. The enemy is Hamas.
20. #12 well done ... thanks
Libyan Guy ,   Italy   (01.17.09)
21. doctor's daughters killed by hamas
elliot ,   usa   (01.17.09)
terrorists should have stopped rockets-never started either-but they work for iran not local population who are also to blame for voting hamas--these deaths are as inevitable as regrettable in this kind of conflict--do not let hamas live so that quiet -peace?-can be restored.
22. to #17
h3x3   (01.17.09)
the doc doesnt say that he's angry, my dear and this is sth really great! anybody listened to his words? even though his daughters, his own children were killed by the IDF - he does not call for revenge, for further bloodshed - but for PEACE. should i spell it for you? s-p-e-a-c-e! again? s-p-e-a-c-e! none of the gazans could turn agains or will do so, as long as IDF pushes them into hamas' arms - who's dropping the bombs on gaza? where can they escape to? ah yeah ok i forgot they could hang around the beaches, have a good time, drink some non-alcoholic cocktails - and if bombs come too close they'll happily drown themselves...
23. The doctor's children
Lou ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (01.17.09)
If this doctor worked in an Israeli hospital, why didn't he bring his wife and children to Israel during the conflict.. I'm sure that the hospital, or even one of the doctors, would have put them up during the duration of the conflict.
24. British colonel on IDF code of conduct
Ran Tal ,   TLV   (01.17.09)
IDF makes enormous efforts to avoid civilian casualties, we deeply regret when it happens. Unfortunately our enemy is using civilians as a human shield - http://www.bicom.org.uk/news/operation-cast-lead/videos/bbc-news--military-analysis

ralph   (01.17.09)
killed his daughters. better he should help in gaza hospital.
27. Dr al-Aish
Vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (01.17.09)
The answer to your question is: Because they want to kill us. If you were so concerned why work in Our hospital, why are you not across the border in Your hospital?
28. It is all Hamas' fault, not the doctor's.
GloomBoom.com ,   Nashville, USA   (01.17.09)
Hamas uses civilians to attack Israel. Every death is on them!!
29. H.H.M......Arabs are noted for propaganda
Maria ,   MD   (01.17.09)
