1. Mr Oron, you are so wrong!
Jjjay33 ,   Israel   (01.18.09)
We ARE having elections because of Olmerts incompetency with the Lebanon war. Olmert can unconstitutionally hire his own commission to clear his name for the wars failures, but the public cant be fooled that easily! He has repeated his failure to finish the job in GAzza exactly the same as Lebanon. But i do suspect that sneaky Olmert will send our troops back in within the next few weeks, and try to call for the postponement of the elections! Any bets?
2. Despite The Leadership's Spin.....
Adina Kutnicki ,   Israel,new olah   (01.18.09)
Let there be NO mistake & let there be NO spin - Hamas will regroup in the same manner as Hizbullah. While Hizbullah's command and control also was hit hard, this did not stop them from rearming to an even more lethal degree. Why? Because once again the political leadership decided NOT to give Hamas the fatal blow that would have declared Israel the victor. In war there are either losers or victors. If both sides are left standing NO ONE wins, it is a stalemate. Therefore, since Hamas's main leadership is intact, some tunnels are still operational, and the Philadelphia border will remain out of the IDF's purview, there is NO other conclusion - Israel did NOT succeed in its mission.
3. Gaza Operation has failed !.
Orao Stranka. ,   Tsarigrad u Srbia.   (01.18.09)
Lieberman: Gaza still Hamastan 'Politicians caused offensive to fail. Is not that wery obvious. Surely this Government will fall by the Ballet boxes. Selfdeception is no Victory.. Orao.
4. Ynet should have a weekly ''Lieberman column''
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.18.09)
I for one would like to hear Lieberman's point of view & analysis far more often.
5. Terry #5 . Agreed, Liberman would arouse a lot of ynet views
jae ,   Lynn USA   (01.18.09)
& talkbacks, but Moshe Feiglin and the Likud are the key to changing Israeli leadership. Even with a decent 10-15 seats that Beiteinu got and likely will get that is still a small time player. Only a party like Likud can make big changes in Israel. Thats why the right wing the religious parties need to get within Likud by signing up as Likud voters and take back the Likud from Bibi et al. Feiglin is not alone; in fact there are 19 of the first 36 primary appointed ministers who were anti disengagment (read:Jewish expulsion in return for hamas missiles). We can make this country the proud Jewish country it once REALLY was instead of the growing, foggy, leaderless "little belgium" that its minority left wing is desperately trying to create.
6. #4 I agree, he has a lot to offer Israel

7. Hey Lieberman!
Bandar ( Hezbollah) ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (01.18.09)
Gaza will always belong to Hamas, and there is nothing you or anyone can do about it. If you dont like that then I suggest you go back to wherever you came from.
8. And you are still SOB !

Igor ,   Munich, Germany   (01.19.09)
continue dreaming dude! one day an all-out war will break out between you guys (Hezbullah) and Hamas, then we´ll see whether you´ll be so confident! The Lebanon war was lost because of Bush puppet Olmert and his incompetent army generals, same situation in Gaza!! The Israeli leadership will change and you bastards will all finally burn in hell with your Iranian and Syrian friends!!! Do not forget that Israeli is the only developed country with a large military industrial complex! With the right leadership you will be crushed in notime! Israel has been fighting constantly since its very first day of existence and believe me it won´t cease to exist. You bastards with your rockets won´t change it. 1 rocket on Haifa and your country will be turned to rubble again!

14. GAZA WAR
Goofy13 ,   Marseille, FRANCE   (01.19.09)
This government of cowards proved once again its inhability to manage a war. The cease fire is a political mistake, It shows the world that Israel fails in conveying communication, hamas is marking a point on this subject. hamas is shouting victory and says IDF is fleeing the strip that's failing the finishing of the job, IDF should have been authorized to aleviate hamas and no less. EU promises are also failures, just as in happened with Lebanon war, hisbollah wasn't disarmed but on the contrary got more weapons then ever ! hamas will get what it was looking for, money from EU, opening of the border, and last will bring in more weapons thanks to shortsighted leaders that are kneeling down in front of UN and the world opinion. Israel is in great danger as it made clear its unhability to finish off its ennemies...What will the next roud be?
15. Historical consciousness is necessary in order to fathom ...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.19.09)
Historical consciousness is necessary in order to fathom what Hamas is doing. The symbols that Hamas uses, from the Qur'an, from the Hadith, and from later Christian anti-Jewish literature, all point towards a continuation of the original jihad. This is hard for Westerners to understand, but this is what the fight means to Hamas. They are completing the work that Muhammad started. It is not something about which they can compromise. And international condemnation of Israel only gives it more power. More about the spirit of Jihad at : http://xrl.us/bebdoa
16. u r right liberman
Ahmad ,   Gaza   (01.19.09)
i add, israel policy lacks the long term view. they look of immediate small victories mostly of personal interests. u've to look to hamas evolution since its inaugoration .. from talks in mosques, to throwing stones .. to isolated groups of sucid bombers to an army-like organization ... i'm they are learning from their falls and so i'm expecting to to see them a well organized powerful army next year .. that is the ineficient israeli actions.
17. #9 - "Do to Hamas what the U.S. did to Japan."
Ypip ,   Canada   (01.19.09)
18. #17 I agree with you
