The people of Gaza voted for Hamas knowing its agenda. Hamas launched daily attacks on Israeli civilians from Gaza. Gazans and other Arabs cheered them on. I, too, have seen reports that the shrapnel pulled from the survivors was NOT from IDF munitions. If that's the case, one needn't say that Hamas is ultimately responsible, but that Hamas is DIRECTLY responsible, whether as a result of a misfired rocket or deliberately set explosives. (In December, two girls in Gaza were killed when a Hamas rocket struck them; others wounded in the same incident were treated in Israel.) Israel attacked the USS Liberty using UNMARKED AIRCRAFT. This is the single fact which proves Israel knew exactly who they were attacking. Israel's story is that they thought USS Liberty was an Egyptian ship and therefore a legitimate target of war. Were that true, there would be no reason to attack a supposedly Egyptian ship with unmarked aircraft. The only possible reason to use unmarked aircraft to attack the ship is that Israel knew it was an American ship and intended to sink it, then to blame the attack on Egypt. >>but the difference here was that Israel was quick to allege that gunmen fired from the Doctor's house, in case it would be accused of attacking unarmed house.
