1. 29 casualties in one family
Oleg ,   Denver, USA   (01.22.09)
This info you publish here can be easily fabricated and we have tons of examples how news made in Palestine. I personally regret all innocent casualties and feel that the more we hate each other the more we open doors for such casualties. At the same time I would not fold my hands on the war with fanatics and radicals who are supported by locals - all Palestinians have to know that hamas leads them to self destruction and to more innocent victims of their fanatic religion hatred.
2. Pallywood.. More lies.. Was Al Dura there?

4. Before they said they were shelled
Shaul   (01.22.09)
So, predictably the story changes. This is the same family that originally claimed that the IDF moved them into a house, which they shelled 24 hours later. Now, it turns out they were shot one by one. Al-Samouni is a well known Hamas family, with most men being members of its military wing. I remember watching Al Jazeera just after the "shelling". They showed the "father" of the family lamenting his injured daughters at what I presume to be Al Shifa hospital. He said that he left his family just prior to the shelling and returned right after, thereby surviving. What father would leave his family after they were "moved" by enemy soldiers? Where did he go? It is a well known fact that Hamas is in possession of IDF uniforms. Sounds like more Hamas propaganda theatrics to me and the suffering "daddy" was in on it. Shame on all Hamas fathers! In any normal society you should lose all rights to your children. You have 20 children by four wives that you cannot take care of. You teach your children nothing but hatred, raising them to be death-worshipping shaheeds, hiding behind them when a need arises. Sick, every one of you! As for Ynet, you should do more to check your stories before publishing them as headlines.
5. Ali Waked...big surprise

6. So innocent
Mac ,   US   (01.22.09)
Holding his brother to his chest but had no wounds to his chest himself, only minor scratches to hands & legs.. Good thing units had camera people with them to later refute these absurdly patent fabrications. Do not believe IDF just shot one in head as he says.
7. 29 000 euros richer
Unbeliever ,   Not Gaza   (01.22.09)
I would also inflate the numbers if Hamas is paying. 1000 for a death, He did not mention the 4000 for the house and why not make up a number of injured for the 500 euros
8. Hamas provocations
Conker ,   Israel   (01.22.09)
Anybody with a bit of sense can see those killings were staged by Hamas. Israel has absolutely nothing to gain by killing civilians like that, on the other hand Hamas doesnt care about Gaza's population and terrorising its own people for the sake of flashy PR.
9. to # 1
(01.22.09)
by the same token, should all israelis know that settlers are destroying or have already destroyed any prospect for peace/2state solution? should'nt the fact that it's a "democratic state" prevent the minority from dictating to majority? or do u consider settlements their right? if u do then ignore this question cause u're not worthy of debate, if u don't then you're a hypocrit..
10. Story sounded plausible until I read two infamous words...

11. Al-Samouni family
Lou ,   Deal, USA   (01.22.09)
It was so nice of this large peace loving family to protest against Hamas firing missles into Israel for the past 8+ years.
12. The story changes all over.
Daniel ,   San Jose, CA   (01.22.09)
An older man with his hands up would not be shot. IDF would not shoot children either. Then there was a shelling? ok I don't get it. If anything I can believe maybe the house was hit from the air. We know Hamas uses fields and orchards to hide rockets. Also his brother being killed, was he Hamas? The report doesn't say, but we do know in many cases Hamas militants will engage IDF forces from inside homes with civilians present. As sad as it may sound war is not pretty, I am sorry. Hundreds of Israeli's have lost their lives over the years due to Hamas terrorist activities. They call it struggle. Well this is the pay back for that struggle.
13. Remmember Subaro Restaurant?
Asaf Golan ,   Sugar Land   (01.22.09)
We the Jews do not seek revenge. But I really don;t care some people in Gaza are in mourning. I do not cheer their pain. But will I feel any pain for their loss. All I see is the Jewish family wiped out in Subaro. And the Jewish family never passed out candy over the death of Arabs, neither did they politically support indiscriminate rocket fire on civilians. That is the difference between us and the Arabs. And that is why we are better than them. May their "shaheeds" go to hell.
14. This palestinian story is a complete lie
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (01.22.09)
This lied up story says quite a lot about why the palestinians don't have their own state. They don't live in reality.
15. Human Shields
USABorn   (01.23.09)
Blame Hamas for firing rockets into Israel from your house. If they allow themselves to be human shields then they support Hamas and the idea Israel should be blown off the map. Citizens of Gaza are either victims of Hamas or they are partners.
16. Muslims have prophets, not kings

for kings when they enter a town spoil it, making its dignified people humiliated.

(01.23.09)
some of the soldiers that came back to base...as a matter of fact, a whole battalion, told the rest of the reservists that many of the soldiers found gaza civilians locked in their own homes which were wired and booby trapped with bomblets at each door. hamas hoped our soldiers would open these doors and blow up, killing as many soldiers as possible. however, we had engineer corps with us that difused those bombs and traps. we shot at the doors and inside we found entire families in the dark sitting in fear. they told us that hamas locked them there on purpose and won't let them run away after the israeli pilots dropped leaflets for civilians to leave the areas to be bombed. most of the civilians were forced inside homes and locked up precicelt because hamas knew isf will bomb these places that were full of weapons, mortars and katies. when golani freed the palestinians, they cried and kissed the soldiers' faces and the soldiers gave them food rations and water they had on them for the war. many such civilians were rescued by us in the golani. this palestinian is lying. no soldier in the idf would ever do such a cruel act. i know my people. this is a lir for propaganda just like locking the citizens up and not letting them flee and knowing they would be bombed...hamas propaganda.
20. Arabs want to Live by the sword so they'll die by the sword.

21. Concern
roger ,   New York   (01.23.09)
The complete absence of empathy I read on this web site makes me concerned about the future of humanity. Do you really not care about the suffering ? Do you believe that the IDF did not kill these people ? Apparently not ! I detect an almost unbelievable immorailty and evil amngst the majority of the posers on this web site. I know this opinion will not go down well with the majority who post here - but i do believe that my disgust is a majority world opinion. Please - when you do something wrong (e.g. phosphorus - atthe minimum) do apologize. It would make you human. The blind support for the military is breathtaking.
22. # 11
Bassam ,   New Orleans   (01.23.09)
# 11 the struggle has just began, you haven't seen nothing yet!
23. Paliwood productions.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (01.23.09)
Faraj al-Samoni (22-years old) said : "My little brother Ahmed was killed in my arms.” This sounds like Paliwood -- courtesy of Hamas. Seems like Paliwood productions is back at work again.
24. don't believe Hamas - It is all lies.

25. And you still wonder to be dragged to The Hague

26. Both, Hamas and Israel should be charged for war crimes
Justice   (01.23.09)
But when a state comits those crimes from a position of power against a people living in a Ghetto (if it wasn't before it is now!) it is an even far more severe crime.
27. #11 the mighty IDF couldn't protest against Hamas, either
observer   (01.23.09)
for 18 days, the IDF has been working as catalyst boosting Hamas firing rockets. Without the IDF, Hamas reaction has always been dumped.
28. in Yom Kippur war, Israel's casualties = 2522
observer   (01.23.09)
the Israeli people deserve to know the actual magnitude of their problem.
29. #9
Yaron ,   USA   (01.23.09)
Your ignorance confounds me. How would your arguement have went prior to 1967? Would the Arab death cult simply have subsided if the big bad Israelis didn't build homes in what is truly ancient Israel. It is disputed territory moron and the only reason fools like you buy into the arguement that it is settlements that are the obstacle to peace is because you have bought the propoganda "hook line and sinker" or should I say "stinker"?
30. Why would ynet even publish this story?
Danielle   (01.23.09)
There's no basis or reliable source for this story. If you interviewed more than just this one man, or had any other evidence of his claim, then it would hold more weight- this should be an embarrassment to the publisher!
